    We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

      I’m beginning to believe it’s not possible unless you have a camera which allows a SIM card. The sim will use cellular data but obviously it’s gonna cost you monthly. Which is mainly what I wanted to avoid. I don’t need to pay for wi-fi at home when I’m only there 2 nights a week. So I just use hot spot for any devices in the house, not been an issue for me until recently I’ve got a dog and would like to check up on him through out the day. Finding it hard to find anything that suits me

    Hi Reolink! I'd like to run these cameras without any cellular or wifi connection - just local live feed. Through that, is motion detection and spotlights a function? Also, is the NVR beep loud? Just curious before I purchase these!

    • @ReolinkCameras
      @ReolinkCameras  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Grimm, thanks for your question. Yes, motion recording and spotlights are built-in features and do not need the Internet/WLAN. However, push notifications will not be available when used in a local network. I don’t have the best internet where I live. Would this set up slow down my internet? I just want to set up a local home security network but not hooked up to the cloud for privacy reasons. I’m not a tech savvy person so I need an easy system, haha. Any suggestions? I’d just need door/window sensors with an alarm or notification hub or something of that sort to announce things at night. Thanks so much!

    • @ReolinkCameras
      @ReolinkCameras  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, usually the more devices that use the network, the slower it will be.
      All Reolink cameras can send you alerts via the Internet without using the cloud. And all wired WiFi/PoE cameras with the siren can work within a local network and sound the alarm with no Internet.
      RLC-811A PoE camera (reolink.com/product/rlc-811a/) and RLC-511WA WiFi camera (reolink.com/product/rlc-511wa/) have the siren and night vision, which might suit your needs.
      Also, here is a buying guide on window security cameras for your reference: reolink.com/blog/window-security-cameras-buying-guide/.
      Hope that helps.😃

    I came here b/c I THOUGHT I could get answers here. This was just a sales pitch.
    If I buy the one with an NVR with 8 or 16 cameras, do I need to run cables from cameras all the way back to where I place the NVR inside my house? That's 140 - 350 feet distance of wires! Not to mention having to make holes in my house. The other one with a SIM card, does that mean I have to pay a Cellular Co. MONTHLY for use of the new SIM? I already pay monthly for my cell Ph. Service, I am NOT paying for a 2nd monthly bill. Since I am in rural America, I AM getting 5g as of this year, but I will NOT be getting Broadband internet (so no router, no Wi-Fi)
    How about being more specific on HOW these cameras can work for us?

    • @ReolinkCameras
      @ReolinkCameras  ปีที่แล้ว

      1, You can connect the cameras to the PoE Switch with short wires, then connect the PoE Switch to the router, and add the NVR to the same router, so that these cameras can be added to the NVR, which saves wiring and does not need to use so many long lines to connect cameras and NVRs.
      2, If you don’t need to live view the camera, you only need to insert the SD card into the Reolink 4G cameras. When checking the recordings, you can take out the SD card and put it into the computer to view them.
      If you want remote access or live view the camera, we recommend you use eoit's sim card, which takes about $6 or $7 to have 300M traffic.

    What I want is not made. I want USB cameras that simply record onto a microSD card. I hate apps, but I could tolerate an app for initial setup, but the location I want to record has no internet, so connection through a network is not wanted. I simply want a record of activity that I can view IF something bad happens. I don't want to be notified. I don't want to view anything in real time. I absolutely don't want to use cell service because as I said, I DON'T WANT TO BE NOTIFIED. I just want a bloody camera, sort of like a trail camera or dash cam, but in the compact format of a security camera. I bought 4 Wyze cams and they were a disaster. The documentation and app are awful. They cannot be used without internet and their performance is unreliable, requiring constant attention. I may have to just use dashcams, which are power-hungry. THEY don't require cell service or internet.

I cannot use anything that requires motion detect because my windows have a UV blocker and doesn't allow a motion sensor to be triggered through the glass. So I was thinking if you had a camera that would just record the whole time I'm parked and I could use it when I'm driving to. I'd love to have a solution for this if Reolink has one. Hi, thanks for your questions.
      Though remote access will be unavailable when the NVR system works without the Internet or a wide area network (WAN), functions like local live view, recording, and NVR beep alarms are still available. By connecting cameras with the NVR, you actually form a local area network (LAN).
      Reolink 12MP cameras and RLC-811A offer an over 100° wide-angle view in 4K, which will be great to catch the entire window. The 180° panoramic Reolink Duo 2 cameras are also recommended.

    It's very frustrating to hear people speak of WiFi as if it's synonymous with being connected to the internet. It's not
    I have 5 Amcrest POE cameras connected to my OFFLINE router. I connect to my router locally via WiFi from my phone app (within 50-100 yards of my router), and I can view all my cameras and view all recordings on my SD card over a wireless network that is NOT ONLINE, as long as I stay within 100 yards of my routers wireless signal.

    So what if they just cut your Internet cord?

      Hi, thanks for your question. It's important to cover or hide the Internet cord from vandals. Here is a guide to hiding camera wires: reolink.com/blog/how-to-run-security-camera-wires/#3-How-to-Hide-Security-Camera-Wires-Outside

    Okay someone’s gotta help my not so smart brain out.
    I have a solar charged cctv that has a 128GB micro SD card in it.
    I have no access to wifi, no access to mobile data or 4g, so no way to get live streaming to any device.
    Will my CCTV camera still record to the SD card as long as it’s getting power? Would this mean I just need to remove the SD card to view any footage?
    Need help for my small business 😮

    • @ReolinkCameras
      @ReolinkCameras  ปีที่แล้ว

      May I know if you have set up the camera before? If yes, it would record to the SD card locally when you power on it, and you could take out the SD card to view the videos.

    This won't work, I only need 2 that can see through a glass window wi-fi free if possible. I would also prefer no subscription.
