We are a couple sharing our lives between living in Texas USA and Iloilo City on Panay Island Philippines. We share building our beach side resort TEXAS FILIPINO BEACH RESORT, building projects off all types including boat projects and motorcycling. We also cover SOLAR SYSTEMS and growing our own food. For awhile there, I was wondering where the hell the boat was, then finally I saw it.
Those waves look very angry. If I were there I would just live on the hammock in the other byocuba.

Melinda, you are correct about the chubby boy. Just like the U.S., kids are spending too much time watching videos and not getting enough exercise.

Looking at those waves and wind.
I know many windsurfers/ kite boarders, would love to be out on the ocean.
Wave jumping, somersaulting ect.( Possible new market?).
Sadly , back in my windsurfing days, it would be past my skill level! Tho in dinghy racing, I often encountered such weather.
Nothing like flying around on a 20 foot catamaran, to blow the cobwebs away ( especially in pretty cold water!!) lol
All the best from zero wind, but overcast and damp Pangasinan, even tho the recent typhoon passed only a few hundred kms north of us!.

I've been a subscriber for years. Before James built the house he said be very careful when you live down by the saltwater everything's going to rust. Salt water is cancer! He didn't listen to one piece of his own advice😂 🤜🏼🤛🏼
What part of that did I not listen too? I never said the stainless valves failed from salt. They failed because they was junk from day one. Cheap Chinese rejects they sell here.
Yep I was told when I was young that the ocean is sick when it’s like that it throws up on the beach

yup these Typhoons have sure slowed down the work at at our farm. I hope they stop soon, we have many projects on the horizon. May ad I plan to return end of March to end of May. we are so excited getting boxes ready to sent here soon as well.
😅😂 James likes to use that garbage plywood to the very last moment that's why I think he decided to pour the kitchen and bathroom quick before the wood rots away. 😅😂

Good onya for holding back on foul weather work, until you have to do it. I'm sure it can be frustrating to not complete projects but it sure pay's off in the end by not loosing crew and keeping some money in their pocket's. Not your first day being a PM. Dave

Man, how about putting those worker of your on a side project to build Mel's mother a real house. I can't imagine what it must be like living in here house with the wind and rains coming down like that.
Melinda's moms house is nice. You must have not seen it. She has a nice home. You must have confused some other house with hers.
BTW did you know I am not the only foreigner son in law? 3 sisters married to foreigners with one of them married twice to a foreigner. Thru the years everyone has played a part here and there upgrading Melinda's mom's house. Your mind must be skewed in what you think you saw or the house. She has a 2 story house with balcony and patio door facing the beach. Huge Kitchen and dining room with a table bigger than ours. A huge living room that is very nice and also has a sliding glass door in it and sliding windows with screens. Her restroom is bigger than any of ours and was just remodeled in the last couple of years. 5 bedrooms and the whole place has nice ceilings and lights. Nice tile floors , on and on. She has the biggest Sari Sari store around. The side of the house has long covered patios with additional couches out there. Then there is the dirty kitchen and storage building. Your just trying to cast stones at me while there is none to be cast. You just don't know how hard Mel and I advocated to buy them property and build their house somewhere else. THEY DID NOT WANT TO MOVE FROM THAT COMPOUND as it is their life there. Bottom line your self projected thoughts of "oh look at him in that big house while her mom is suffering in a shack" but YOUR WRONG.
James, at 26:41 when Mel is talking about papaya, what is the plant/tree to the right? I have the EXACT same one at same size but hurricane Helene knocked it over and now those fruits (bananas/plantains?) are dying with black specs everywhere. Wanted so bad for it to be here when Maegan arrives in two weeks 😭
Have you thought of treating the OSB to get more use out of them?

We are not complaining. I have no shame in what I have and what we do. I suffered my ass off for what I have. I worked harder in my life than 3 men together. True fact. How I spend it now is my business only.
Pour concrete on top of the tile in the kitchen for the cabinets? That was a waste of tiles. Telling your guys to slow down and think? Sorry but your guys are just laborers. You need to be there managing the all the time to make sure they are doing it correctly. I know mak mak is one of your main guys but look what almost happened there in the kitchen., 2 mistakes averted. Could have been a disaster.
yes concrete on top of the tiles. now we are not pouring a bottom in like wood cabinets here in the west. Just little walls. The tile is not wasted as you say as it is the bottom in the cabinet. Remember everything here is not built to the western way. I personally hate the wood western cabinets. Seems to be the perfect place under them for spiders , mice etc to live. Water drips and damages the bottom etc. this is damage proof pretty much. Just keep watching. People get so set in their ways and never think outside the box.
oh they are not just laborers two of them are suppose to be able to think on their own feet. The " masoons" as they are called here. I think that is a play off of mason. I agree that I have to stand over them and it gets so damn tiring. I was just telling Cap that today that I feel like a full time baby sitter.

Now then you said you wanted to show us the beach 😆 what damn beach all i saw was water all the way up to the shelter you built lmao 🤣 . Hooray back on some kind of construction builds finally . Much brotherly love & respect yalls way from The Great state of Alabama ROLL DAMN TIDE !! Thank God Hurricane Helene spared us but many of our neighbors are in a real mess & hurting . 😢. I think the deaths might be in the 90s by now .
My guess not knowing for sure, but, I don't recall you ever putting in too much of a filtration system. Or maybe I forgot. But that would make a huge difference on how long your 304 (not 🎅 hohoho) SS (not natzi or Trumps keystone cops) valves will last. I got a large rubber "O" ring kit off Shopee to fix these leaks because they get damaged so quickly from the hard water since I have yet to install the filtration system I want. Being spoiled on 10 pesos for 5 gallons of mineral water and all our lines are pvc type.
