We continued our journey in our Suzuki Jimny through the Cederberg Mountains, the Cape Winelands and eventually to Somerset west. Next week we tackle the Helderberg 4x4 Trail and put the Jimny up against a Toyota Fortuner!

Thank you so much for the great review. I want to keep the level of these video's high. It just means I need to dedicate more time to the post production! I would also like to get a drone in the near future to help with some beautiful landscape shots, as well as give another perspective to see the vehicle from! If the channel continues to grow at the current rate, I really think my visions will come to life.

I found a dealer with one available for the week of 7th Jan..
I have have to travel 280 miles to get it...

I dont know if the next video will be exactly the same, as I am just trying to find my style and obviously the next video was already recorded before I edited this one, but this style will definitely become a new thing for the future! Roam Overlanding - Found your videos when I wanted to learn more about the new Jimny. Then saw your car yesterday and recognized the new model and your jerrycans on top and you inside when you came closer.
It looks lika a great 4x4 but unfortunately bit tiny for me and my wife, two kids and two dogs.

My Jimny in Chiffon Ivory will arrive at the end of January, but i already ordered some nice stuff 😂
My plan is, to make it a micro camper with a tiny removable kitchen block.
My parts list so far:
-Rhino Rack heavy duty carriers
-ARB awning
-autohome Columbus roof tent
-small water supply kit
-portable gas cooker
-cooling box (absorbtion)
My only concern is the overload of the car, but as you mentioned the after market shocks and springs will be available soon as all the other nice stuff!

May be one day i can have the new one....... i remember in mozambique on the way to Ponta do Ouro, a beach that is border with SA, on rainy season, the only car that could go on some parts of the road, was the suzuki........keep posting videos.......regards

Superb video, thanks for sharing your journey, I am in the UK, the unit is being released here next week, due to old football injuries I need the auto, I can find no feed back on this version, and no demo unit available in this spec, do you have any knowledge if at 60 mph the revs are similar on the 4 speed auto to that of the 5 speed manual,?
Sorry to hear about the injury! I think the Auto will be a great vehicle too. Im not sure how the RPM on the auto, but ill try arrange a test drive when Im back at my local dealer, just to help give people some feedback.
Thank you for your reply, I hope the first gearing and the fourth gearing on the auto are the same dimensions as the first and fifth on the manual therefore giving the same rpm at top levels, and being less gears in the auto could reduce any unnecessary searching, but these answers are not forthcoming as yet from the GB dealerships, anyway, keep safe, and live the life. God Bless.
Even if the gearing is exactly the same as 1-4 of the manual, it would still be nice! I think the only place where it would miss out of 0-60 is in the gear changes. I am going to try arrange a test drive of the Auto soon, so I can give some feedback for you guys!
Great couple.. Just want to kno what things do u carry when u travel... Like ur reserve fuel carrier is awesome but cant get a good view.. What things we cant forget to carry in such a long ride ??
Hey Reuben, thanks for getting in touch! The fuel carrier alloys me to carry 2 20L jerry cans, so an extra 40L of petrol. I always make sure I have a tent, a chair, a stove and a table, for me it makes my life so much easier just having those things. So you can see the table is stored under the roofrack.

How much weight do you think you’ve loaded up‽ the rear looks a little lower on couple of those shots ?!
Its quite a load! I would probably say 150kg+ but must have been more with a full tank of fuel and then extra fuel on the roof too. Im going to be adding some airbags on the rear springs, to help with load. But this is the first test to see these types of things so I know what I need when it comes to working on the suspension at a later point.

I just want to ask, why do you prefer the Jimny than other 4x4 SUV's. We all know that other 4x4 SUV's have more powerful engines than Jimny. I also want this Jimny but I'm a little bit confuse if I will get a Jimny or a bigger one
It’s engine is half the size of large 4x4s but it’s kerb weight is half as well so it isn’t that bad. If the Jimny had a little turbo Diesel engine it would be a beast.

It’s what you’d expect of a short wheel base solid axle off-roader 😂 but it’s definitely drivable.

Not really, mostly crime happens in populated areas. When im out in the middle of nowhere, its actually a huge relief to not have to stress about safety!
