    I have checked your videos from the first one on this channel to this one and yeah,some places I just think to myself, turn and go back for your love love when you do those drive by scenes 😀. I guess it’s the secret to his well documented videos. Makes you feel like you are/were part of the trip.

I wasn't even focusing on the cute Jimny instead I got submerged in those breathtaking shots, the subtle voice over, the soothing music and the grandeur of the backdrops. You are truly an amazing artist. Respect bro, from a filmaker.

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Mark! I do want the Jimny to be the protagonist but not the whole story! :) There will come a time where people arent going so crazy over the Jimny, and hopefully by then I will have an audience that is interested more in my films and my travels and the Jimny is more of a companion. But thats to people like you supporting us, its going to allow us to keep pushing everything further and further!

    Great video. I've ordered the Jimny but here in the UK I may have to wait about a year to get one. One thing I'm slightly worried about is how the car performs over long distances. I've driven one for an hour and loved it but as a landscape photographer covering long distances I'm slightly concerned about feeling beaten up after driving a long distance in the Jimny. What has your experience been like?

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Paul! I think you will have a great time. You won’t feel beaten up, but I do recommend getting a pit of extra lumbar support on the seat. Otherwise, it’s very comfortable.

    Great road trip and great video. All we hear in Australia is about the murders and how dangerous it is in South Africa now and how good your sporting teams are. I am glad you are showcasing the Suzuki. We don't have it here yet but as I will be moving into a unit and parking under the building I will be limited by the height of my Amarok. I will be interested to see what solution you come up with for rooftop camping. I am thinking of getting one of the new Suzuki's and using one of those pop-up hardshell rooftop tents. The big issue with the Suzuki will be the GVM and GCM. When thinking about touring Australia in a smaller vehicle, and no doubt you will have the same issue, is carrying extra fuel, water, food, bedding, cooking etc. The Suzuki looks great but couldn't they have made it a little bit bigger!! The rest of the world is not limited by Japanese size restrictions. I will look forward to your load solutions and rooftop camping ideas.
    Keep up the interesting stories and wonderful camera work with the scenery.
    Regards
    Dave

      @@RoamOverlandingIt is a big issue in Australia with people towing vans etc and the fines can be huge. I was thinking if the hard shell was on the roof then the jerry cans would have to be on a swing out bar on the back with the spare maybe. Great scenery too by the way. I had no idea South Africa was so beautiful. Great footage and video, and glad to see Jimny coping well. Assume you will give her a wash and polish when you get home. Be interested to know what your overall fuel consumption has been for your trip given you have been loaded up heavy, the different non std tyres and clearly the much higher temperatures you have than we get in the U.K. also how good is the climate control? One other question, can you use the low range and 4WD mode on the roads or just on loose slippery surfaces like as in the MK3 ? Thanks

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah South Africa is really one of those places that has so much different types of beautiful land! First thing I did was take her for a clean! :D I averaged about 10.3KM/L roughly 28MPG. the Climate control works like a bomb. Its actually too cold for us :D I would never recommend using Low range or 4WD on normal dry tar roads. I do however put the car in 4wd when its very wet and raining, and then even just light dirt roads.

      That is pretty good mpg considering and I never doubted you would treat her to a bath when home. Great to hear about the climate too. I’ll stay tuned and hope to return the favour of some U.K. landscapes when mine arrives, assuming I live long enough for it to be delivered 🙄

    You should never drive at such speed in low range! Furthermore, engaging low range (or even 4H) on anything other than super loose, wet or muddy terrain puts enormous stress on the drivetrain and can cause permanent damage! This is because the Jimny doesn't have a central diff to balance the speed of the front and rear wheels.

    • @RoamOverlanding
      @RoamOverlanding  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the response Jack, it was very unstable terrain around the corners and for our safety it was more important to have it engaged for this section of driving. I would never use 4LO unless necessary. Your feedback is valuable indeed.
