Thanks for watching, bird dog. I have 7 videos total scheduled - I might shoot too much video. Ha, I meet you guys on day 8-9 video. Which will be out on the 20th.

There is not much more amazing experience then seeing the morning sun on a tent wall, knowing you are on a trail. Beautiful campsite for the first night.

Enjoyed this video! Your cinematography and editing is perfect, too. I just flew there (from Toronto) in March to do the first half of the OT (Talimena to Highway 27 trailhead). I can’t wait to come back to do the second half someday soon! I’m going to watch your “Day 3 and 4” video next. Excellent content, thank you for sharing!

Hey thanks, Christina! I watched your first OT video from Nancy Mountain Shelter & was hoping to cross paths with you & ole J HikesAlot on my way west. I enjoy both of y’all’s videos! Thanks for watching, congrats on finishing the OHT, & hope you can make it back down to finish up the OT soon!

@@DixonHikes Oh, amazing! So cool that you have also watched some of my videos. Have you done the OHT? No spoilers on how the OT went for you! 😁

I section hiked the OHT from Lake Fort Smith SP to Tyler Bend back in 2019-2020. Already planning an eastbound thru-hike next spring. Probably skip the bushwhack & just end it @ Dillards Ferry, so around 205 miles.

Thanks guys. Make sure Craig watches Days 5 - 7. Tell him not to give up on the OT just yet! If he’ll hike Hwy 27 to Hwy 7 he’ll love this trail forever! Ha

Great start! My son and I hiked the BRT (Boxley to Pruitt) last month and were inspired by your previous video. Besides being longer, how do you compare the OT with the BRT hike? Looking forward to the other videos.

Hey, thanks John. Love to hear it! Man, both the Ouachitas & the Ozarks are special & unique in their own way. Lucky to have them both. I’d say the Ozarks are more of a wilderness experience, while the Ouachitas are a wilderness experience with an Appalachian Trail vibe. More of a social aspect, with the shelters. Both are spectacular.

@@DixonHikes I thought the same thing when I saw the shelters…took us back to the AT! I’ll have to add it to my bucket list.
