    Another great video! It was cool to see all 4x4's out enjoying the wilderness as well. I also like to see you hiking with others.

      Hi, Robert! Sorry that I missed this comment! Yes, it was very cool to see all those 4x4’s out on the trail. That group was so friendly and it was such an awesome and unique way to end a fantastic experience. And, yes, although I love hiking alone, Jay has turned out to be a fantastic hiking partner and I can’t wait to finish this trail with him at some point. Thanks so much for commenting and watching, Robert. 🥰🙏🏼✌🏼

    Your rain gear looks great! Look good feel good!
    Like a farmer who tends their crops daily no matter the weather will always yield more then the farmer who doesn’t.
    Like the hard working farmer who tends to there crops in the storms,droughts etc we must tend to our minds the same. Always to do and feed our minds the best we can. One day each day at a time. Compound interest is seen over time.
    Yesterday is a memory we must forgive, tomorrow will Never come and today is what we will only ever have. Let love.

    Congrats on another successful adventure. I can't wait to get back out there for another section, myself. I'm probably 2 hikes away from that 100 mile mark. It was fun to get a preview.

      @@Womaninthewoods13 I don't really take a lot of videos, at least not the kind you would post on TH-cam. I'll leave that to the professionals! (lol) Mostly I just take pictures and maybe the occasional short video of a stream or whatever. ...and hike hike hike of course. If you want, I could email you a link to the photo album.

    Wow Christina huge congrats on another adventure under your belt! Haha I must say we are a different breed, when you got to your shelter & all those people were there I was cringing because I'm such an introvert (& a bit shy), & would have been very tempted to just hike to the next shelter lol. But you were excited & happy so I was happy for you 😄.
    That being said what a beautiful trail wow! The shelters spaced throughout are such an amazing addition. Thanks once again for bringing us along on your journey! 💜

    • @Womaninthewoods13
      @Womaninthewoods13  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The shelters are 7 miles apart so hiking to the next wasn’t an option. I do enjoy the surprise and company of people at the shelters. It’s interesting to see the range of people doing this stuff and hearing about the different plans for the hike. I’m not a big people person on the trail, I prefer to hike in silence and listen to the sounds of Nature, but meeting after the hike at a shelter is a good way to “small dose” socializing, haha. 😊

      Interesting. I also practice stoicism. When I looked more deeply into stoicism, I was like, “Oh, this is already how I think or these are things I already practice or think about already.” So I looked further into it, and have continued to learn about stoicism. 👍🏼✌🏼🤘🏼
      Question for you… You identified yourself as “Doc from The Trek.” I was recently taken on by The Trek as a blogger (although I have not published a blog with with them yet). Did you know that or is this some sort of freak coincidence? Perhaps they have a list of their summer bloggers somewhere? Either way, nice to hear from you and good luck with your channel! 🥰🙏🏼✌🏼

      They are so different. I love them both for different reasons! OHT is more remote and rustic, I would say. But I also liked the comfort and camaraderie of the OT. Both are great. 🥰

    I hiked from Queen Wilhelmena to Turner Gap this weekend. It was fun to see you and J in the hiking logs at Foran Gap and Turner Gap. There's been a couple more pages of hikers since then. ...although you wouldn't know it from the traffic on the trail. I didn't see a soul in 3 days.
    It looks like the solar eclipse, next year, will cross the trail around where you ended. I wonder if that's coincidence. That would be a pretty cool place to watch it from.

      @Womaninthewoods13 well, the tortoise has finally caught the hare (2 hares). I went out last weekend and completed the next part, stopping at mile 121.7. Man it was hot! 103F (39C) at the hottest part of the day. Things start to get crazy when the air is hotter than your blood. I'm pretty sure I was the only nut out there. It was a good challenge but I won't be back until the weather cools down a bit. I've seen you guys and also WildOklahoman (another youtuber) in the trail logs. Anyway, I hope you and J get a chance to finish what you started. Maybe I'll see you guys out there sometime. Cheers!

      They didn’t leave a mess. They only stayed about 20 minutes, gave us beer and moonshine, had their kids with them, and were very friendly. We loved the surprise twist to our last evening on the trail. 🥰

    Did you filter or treat your water? And if not, did you pay a price for it?

    • @rungavagairun
      @rungavagairun ปีที่แล้ว

      I found the answer on the previous video. You use Aquatabs to treat the water. See you dunk your bottles in the water makes me wince a little. Lol

    • @Womaninthewoods13
      @Womaninthewoods13  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I normally use aqua tabs, but this summer I actually used a water filter only. An entire summer using Aquatab is too long, too many chemicals in your system. The water filter I bought did a fantastic job, and I am going to use that predominantly in the future from now on.

    • @rungavagairun
      @rungavagairun ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Womaninthewoods13 I don't have the patience for chemical treatment. Takes way too long to kill all the swimmers.
