Was considering the upgrade from 14pm to 16pm, but after this video I have decided to keep it for another year. I reallllllly don’t like the camera control button so other than that I don’t see any major upgrades this year. 45w charging apparently does not charge at 45w speeds most of the time, not sure if you have seen some videos about that.. which was another thing I was looking for this year. AI not being introduced on 16 release this year is nail in the coffin for this phone tbh. Great battery, great cameras, great day to day performance, but I have that on my 14pm as well. Thank you very much for unbiased and very well made video. Cheers to you Sir. 😊
Have a 14 Pro Max and will be switching to 16 Pro. The Max is just far too cumbersome. I have large hands too. I just want something more pocketable and easier to handle with one hand.
Same thoughts, also coming from iPhone14PM. I love the grayish tone of natural titanium, USB C, and also a pocketable device which is similar in features to the PM.
I presently have the 14 Pro Max (512GB) and am considering upgrading to the 16 Pro Max for several reasons, among them larger battery and longer battery life, better cameras, camera control button, 5X zoom, USB-C charging, slightly larger screen and improved microphones and sound modes. However your comments on the decreased quality of the speakers are a concern. At this point I'm "on the fence" and will monitor the situation for awhile to see whether any problems surface with the 16. I also want to wait for the rush to subside as it presently takes about a month to get the new phones. When I can get faster delivery, I'll make a decision. Enjoyed your video!
I’m upgrading my 14PM to 16PM. I’m excited 👌 Worth quite a bit: - Bigger screen (with thinner bezels) - Much better battery - Better cameras - App camera new features - USB-C port - Better performance (better CPU/GPU, 8GB RAM, new cooler system) - Artificial Intelligence - Titanium body - Camera control And so on… And the speakers of 14 are NOT better. That’s a LIE!!! The ones from 16 have much better sound quality! This is a misleading review 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@cristianchavez1413Stainless steel is way more durable than your titanium thing that looks cheap by the way 😂 Actually that is one of the reasons why I don't like to upgrade because of that titanium that does not even look like a premium 😂
Thanks so much for this thorough review. I've been on the fence about upgrading my iPhone 14 Pro Max, since I recently finished paying it off. My hearing has always been less than ideal, so having good speakers is a must, even more important to me than the new camera features. I still love my iPhone 14 Pro Max and have decided to stick with it for at least another upgrade cycle. Yours is the best iPhone review I've seen.
I have the 14 pro max. My battery health is at 88% after two years. The battery for some reason doesn’t last a whole day. I use my phone not that much and the battery still drains. I don’t use the camera hardly at all so I don’t know if the upgrade is worth it. Also, I have to use MagSafe to charge it because the lightning port for some reason doesn’t charge. Don’t know if it’s worth upgrading just for the battery.
When I heard about the update to Siri not being rolled out to older models, I was really disappointed. I love my iPhone 14 Pro Max in Deep Purple-it’s in great condition, and I’ve been happy with it. I reminded myself that there are third-party apps that can do the same things, so I didn’t feel the need to upgrade. The new camera zoom sounded neat, but still not worth it for me. But then, I felt a surge of impulse and started considering the upgrade. Right at that moment, I stumbled upon your page, and it gave me the reassurance I needed-upgrading really isn’t necessary. My iPhone 14 is still going strong! Great video-very informative, and you’ve earned a new subscriber.
There is one more reason to upgrade. Because of overheating on the iPhone 14 pro the battery degrades much faster. My iPhone 14 pro's battery capacity right now after having it for almost 2 years (carrier contract ends Oct) is 77% and that is with Optimised Battery Charging on. The 11 pro i owned before that, i traded it in with 93% battery degredation only. Im upgrading to the 16 pro for the longer battery and better cooling because the 14 pro had the worse battery issues ever.
Yea my 14 pro max overheats so much especially in the summer. It shuts down for a while to cool down. My battery health is 83% and the battery is the main issue I’m upgrading unfortunately. I’d just buy a new battery but these iPhones lose value so much yearly it’s not worth keeping for years if you’re unhappy with it.
I upgraded from 14PM and the only thing I am missing is that beautiful deep purple color, my favorite, I am getting used to the "gold" Other than that it solved the biggest problem I had with 14, horrible camera, the over processed super bad selfies, I love new styles and camera button is handy shortcut. I mean 14PM is still fine phone, just the look of the photos are so much better. Plus it's lot nicer to hold.
I did… the camera button is meh, but the phone is better on calls and sound wise… photo’s are great but so was the 14… battery is great on the new one.
My 14 Pro Max has just been replaced with a brand new one thanks to Apple Care + and although I initially wanted to upgrade now I wonder whether it’s worth it. Besides, the deep purple colour is just gorgeous. I wonder why Apple didn’t bring back that colour.
As someone who uses only MagSafe to charge and airdrop to transfer files, I don’t see a need for usb c at this moment. Also I prefer the steel and the weight of the 14 pro max. It’s very sturdy and reliable and I don’t really see myself upgrading for another 2 years.
Congratulations on your review. Even though I am an Apple product user, I feel that with each new release we only get more of the same. Those boring and long presentations could be summarized in much less time. Apple is proud of having popularized touch screens, however, it has only added buttons to the iPhone. What will it release next year? A button to turn on the touch screen? Greetings from Brazil.
I’m keeping my 12 mini not because of the small form factor but cause there’s no need yet, AI will still take a while before we can see a difference in day to day basis, let’s see what’s the next best thing
Great video! I have a 14 Pro deep purple and didn’t even realize just how similar it is to the 16. Wow. I’ll be hanging on to my 14 Pro till the 17 or 18. Just don’t see a reason to upgrade. All I need to do is replace the battery probably after the new year and I’ll be set. 14 Pro is a great phone. Just updated to 18.0.1 yesterday and the bugs and performance seems to be fixed. This thing is still lightning fast! I will say though, it does have a tendency to heat up which I’m sure has led to the battery health on mine already being at 84%. But I’m a truck driver and my phone sits in the cradle most of the day and is exposed to the sun when it’s which I know doesn’t help 🤷🏻♂️ but $100 for a new battery and should be good as new!
iPhone 14 Pro Max user here, and I’m very strongly considering upgrading to the 16 Plus, not the Pro or Pro Max. My phone is very much just a social media and youtube machine, with the occasional gaming and calls and texts. I barely use the telephoto lens, I never used the pro res video, and I only ever used cinematic mode like 2 times for a college project (and even then I just switched back to standard 4k modes). Pro Raw pictures is also pretty useless for me cause I don’t edit photos I just have them on my phone for viewing. The only feature I can see myself missing is the 120hz refresh rate, but even that may not be too big of a problem for me. I recently turned on the option for the refresh rate to be limited to 60hz to see what’s it like living with a 60hz phone again. I’ve had it on that mode for the past few days and surprisingly I’ve gotten used to it. The only times I notice it now is when I have it side by side with my iPad Pro or my gaming laptop. I’m also considering the regular 6.1 inch iPhone 16, I came from the regular iPhone 12 before the 14 pro max and I also really love that more compact size.
No, some of us have older ipads and mini ipads and iphones, the C connection is not standard over all the Apple devices I have. That was kind of a thoughtless comment and makes me less inclined to listen to anything else you have to say.
14 Pro Max upgrading to 16 Pro Max, not because I want to but because my lease is up. The USB-C, new, bigger battery, and smaller bezels are intriguing but I put that in the "want" rather than "need" category. Same when it comes to the action button and camera control (whoop-de-do!). AI? Meh.
I’ve decided to leave a comment before watching this video. I have a 14 Pro max 256. From what I have seen, listened to and compared, for me, it’s not quite worth it. I’ll wait one more model. Now , I’m still going to watch your video and see what your opinions are. Cheers
I just upgraded from the 14 pro max and tbh it’s worth it IF you want AMAZING battery life. The 16 pm weighs a lot less and is more comfortable to hold, and tbh it just feels smoother while using it and the zoom and overall camera are better soo it’s upto you but i definitely see it being worth it
@@ARXInfinite i upgrade around every 2 years for those reasons. I do love better cameras and battery life. However, if you completely wipe your 14 PM, it’ll have that smooth and fast feel again. I’m not more than 20 feet away from a charger or portable battery , if needed. So yes I love long battery life but this is still ok. Display is still great, sound is great. I’ll wait one more year.
@@katinasoutherland7693 from everything I’ve seen / read, the 13 lineup has a beast of a battery. Wish I would’ve just gotten that one instead of the 14.
I have the 14 pro max and definitely not upgrading. The best biggest changes for Apple is when they brought 5G and 120hz to their phones. Ai is the next big thing. It takes Apple a few years to get anything right. I won’t hold my breath for the 17 model. As for the camera button on the 16 models, I don’t like it. I would rather see the action button move there and bring back the mute switch. With all that said, I’m happy with my 14 pro max. It may not be able to run Apples advance Ai but it runs copilot Ai just fine for translating.
Getting $1,000 trade in for my 14 pro max with AT&T so with the additional changes I find worthwhile: USB-C, Future AI, Larger Screen, Better Cameras, better battery life, 1 Nit for nighttime reading. Added all together makes it a good upgrade for me, but to each their own.
I had a 14 pro max , dropped it from pocket height on asphalt 3 months ago , screen was destroyed and it went completely dead , with a screen protector and case on it ,now im using the 8 plus which i had since 2017 before the 14 PM until i decide what phone to buy next , waiting to see if i can get a good deal on black friday on a 15 plus or 15 PM!!!

I honestly just completed the upgrade order earlier today haha. 14 pro max to the 16 pro max and a black ultra 2 so I got a discount on the watch. @@beautifuldiva0208 I was actually eligible for a trade in. I got a 16pro max. The 14 had a slight chip around the camera bezel in the glass that chipped from hitting my car key that was in my pocket.

First time seeing your channel. I am happy to follow and thank you for the great explanation. Unfortunately I watched this video a little too late. I already upgraded from my 14 Pro Max the 16 Pro Max.... Hehehe. I noticed exactly everything you said in this video. There isn't any major differences. The reason I DID upgrade were not exactly for those reasons though. I do a payment plan with T-Mobile and I already finished paying off my 14 Pro Max. My good friend said that he would buy my 14 Pro Max so I sold it to him. I used that money to get the 16 Pro Max.... It really felt like I wasn't losing anything. I was just getting the "newest" version of my same phone. Hehe. Anywho.... I also chose to follow you because it seems like you're from Texas. I too reside in Texas and I will definitely support a fellow Texan. Again, thank you for this video. Have a great day!
Hey Jerry, Big thanks for this comparison video...and your opinions. P.S. Jus subscribed cuz you've got the right idea about real world iphone users vs the YT who jus wanna flaunt new tech at you.
I got the 16 pro in natural titanium 1tb. I filmed an unboxing and first impressions on my channel. So far this phone has been comfortable in my hands and the camera quality is perfection, lol.
While most reviews seem to focus on the little incremental changes to the camera system, how many ‘close to being fanboy’ reviewers did a thorough test on what is the first on any Apple device ever, WiFi7? If they have actually crippled the 320mhz channel width, making thr iPhone 16 really just a WiFi6E device, why is that being ignored for ‘camera review’. Please direct me to a reviewer who actually does ‘technical’ reviews.
All of apples devices are using 160 channel. MacBook Pro, Air M3, iPad Pro. What will you actually do with WiFi 7 speed? Most consumers will get zero benefit.
@@JerrySchulze Anyone who paid for a iPhone 16 was under the impression they were getting all of the specified features of the iPhone 16, including WiFi7. 320mhz channel width is the spec of WiFi7. The iPhone 16 supports only 160mhz which is the channel width of WiFi6E. While I get you may not have a WiFi7 network connect 2+Gbps service, others do. And I’m sure they would like their $1,000+ phone to take full advantage if it.
I have the 14PM but strongly considering to get a regular 16 Pro. I love the battery on the Max and the display is indeed gorgeus but this thing is big! Someone else on this dilema?
I’m in the same boat as you,so I got the 16 pro to test it out for a bit and I can tell you, it feels so much better wielding it, being able to pull it out your pocket without the thumb gymnastics, buuuuuut, it’s been just about a week and I’m finding myself already missing the bigger screen. It’s a weird spot to be in😂
Not that it's big, but what matters is it's a brick. 11ProMax in hand feels comparable to my 13Pro, despite being bigger. The brick design feels fine for smaller phones, but gets hardly bearable in ProMax sizes.
I got 16 pro coming from 14 pro max, spec-wise I don’t see any difference, PM as fast as 16 pro, display just a little bit better on 16. USBC feels fragile compared to lightning, and I do miss larger screen. Max is. The phone which can be used as video watching device, pro cannot. I cannot game call of duty on pro since it is too small. Cameras pretty much the same. I still have my 14 PM and I am thinking about returning 16 pro.
Ai features plus Verizon offering to pay my phone off and give me 800 towards new phone was reason enough. I am concern about the speaker not being as Loud on the 16 pro max tho
I had it in and I removed because it was 19 minutes. Only applies to people who want to buy a Vision Pro and those people most likely already know they want the 16.
I got the 14 PM it will be paid off in another year by the time the 17 comes out may consider upgrading then very happy with the 14 PM it is the 256gb and very good battery life 👍
From 14 i should say yes, even from my 15 pro i would do it for just the battery and small tweaks on Camera. But if you are on 15 Pro then you will do good for a while longer tho. :)

I’m excited 👌
Worth quite a bit:
- Bigger screen (with thinner bezels)
- Much better battery
- Better cameras
- App camera new features
- USB-C port
- Better performance (better CPU/GPU, 8GB RAM, new cooler system)
- Artificial Intelligence
- Titanium body
- Camera control
And so on…
And the speakers of 14 are NOT better. That’s a LIE!!! The ones from 16 have much better sound quality!
This is a misleading review 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
They have the same sound quality

Thanks so much for this thorough review. I've been on the fence about upgrading my iPhone 14 Pro Max, since I recently finished paying it off. My hearing has always been less than ideal, so having good speakers is a must, even more important to me than the new camera features. I still love my iPhone 14 Pro Max and have decided to stick with it for at least another upgrade cycle. Yours is the best iPhone review I've seen.
Thanks so much!
Don’t know if it’s worth upgrading just for the battery.
maybe not, maybe just a new battery.
Don't upgrade. I only changed battery at apple store. 135cad +tax

Omg that's terrible. My 13pro has 86%. I've had it since launch day.
@@katinasoutherland7693that’s solid can last another year of usage or just chnge battery
My iPhone 14 Pro’s battery is at 86 percent after 2 years.
My 14 pro is at 86% after having it for a year and almost 2 months I’ve got it for another 8 months before I can upgrade
I’m watching this on the 14 pro max and I’m not thinking of upgrading
l was considering the upgrade but l think l will wait a while,, l must admit l love my 14PM ,,lets see what the 17PM brings to the table :)
How is louder, equivalent to better in terms of speakers?
I just upgraded mine today. The 16 should get to me sometime next month. Hope I like it! Great video!
Skipping the 16’s this year and getting the 17 pro next year 👌🏻
Good idea seems like the 17 could actually be a solid upgrade
@@cliffordmovies4u406 hopefully it's completely bezel-less
If is worth it 😅😂, I’m on iPhone 14 pro max skipped 15,16 let hood the 17 look like an upgrade if not I guess I wait for the 18 pro max
iPhone 14 Pro Max user here, and I’m very strongly considering upgrading to the 16 Plus, not the Pro or Pro Max.
Now I know why it’s so hard to hear from the speakers. It sucks it’s so quiet
No, some of us have older ipads and mini ipads and iphones, the C connection is not standard over all the Apple devices I have. That was kind of a thoughtless comment and makes me less inclined to listen to anything else you have to say.
Still nice and new to your channel and 14 is a great device still.Thank you for sharing.✌️
AI? Meh.
im upgrading my 14pm mainly just for usb-c, and the fact that my dad has been waiting for me to pass the 14promax to him. 😂
The 16 pm weighs a lot less and is more comfortable to hold, and tbh it just feels smoother while using it and the zoom and overall camera are better soo it’s upto you but i definitely see it being worth it
Thanks for watching.

Rocking a 14PM and considering the upgrade. I purchased my 14 when the 15 came out. So, a little over a year and my battery health is at 84%…

I can’t wait to see this! I went from the 14 Pro to the 16 Pro Max.
I think that every 4 year it’s fine to upgrade. But every year it’s not.
I’m upgrading when the iPhone 30 comes out 😂
I also want to upgrade from 14P to 16PM but i also have high hopes for 17PM. do you guys think that i should upgrade to 15PM (cheaper option maybe?) now instead and wait for 17PM?
There is always going to be something better next year, but unless you really think you want Apple Intelligence then no I would not upgrade right now. Or if you want a 5X zoom.
I still have a 12 Pro Max and it works great
I honestly just completed the upgrade order earlier today haha. 14 pro max to the 16 pro max and a black ultra 2 so I got a discount on the watch. I was toying with the idea but my phone has been doing some weird things from time to time and freeze once in awhile, battery seems worse than what it was so I figured why not. Ship date of the 25th though

Not sure why everyone keeps mentioning 45w charging. No where has apple mentioned 45w charging on the 16 Pro max. Charging is the same as last years 15 pro max.
Hehe.
Anywho....

It’s a weird spot to be in😂
@@grapelund I feel you 😂 please keep sharing the experience in the next few weeks
Not that it's big, but what matters is it's a brick. 11ProMax in hand feels comparable to my 13Pro, despite being bigger. The brick design feels fine for smaller phones, but gets hardly bearable in ProMax sizes.
For me, it’s the battery that brings me back.
I ordered already waiting for 16 pro max
16 better ram smaller bezels and upgraded storage
Nobody ever mentions the 3d video features
I had it in and I removed because it was 19 minutes. Only applies to people who want to buy a Vision Pro and those people most likely already know they want the 16.
I got the 14 PM it will be paid off in another year by the time the 17 comes out may consider upgrading then very happy with the 14 PM it is the 256gb and very good battery life 👍
Any iPhone upgrade within 5 years is a waste of money. You’ll probably need to replace the battery though after 2 years.
Then maybe the only upgrade I´ll make to my 14 pro max is changing the battery and wait for 17 pro redesign or something.
From 14 i should say yes, even from my 15 pro i would do it for just the battery and small tweaks on Camera. But if you are on 15 Pro then you will do good for a while longer tho. :)
