Awesome Alex! Been suggesting my suggestion for months now. Hopefully you can react to it soon. You HAVE to react to the best metal song ever created yet. Many other reaction channels have watched it and have been amazed. It is Australian melodic death metal. Here comes the song: Eye of the Enemy - The Shift. You will be A M A Z E D. Cheers, William
Man, i can't believe how many of your metal reacts i've watched by now. When i was browsing through some random musicvideos i found a "hiphop head reacts to slipknot" and was like, "the hell is this idiot doing, thinking he can compare metal to hiphop. I bet this is going to be funny and ridiculous." But boi, oh boi was i wrong. I really liked that you informed yourself about the band, read some stuff about the lyrics and the meaning of them, and that you just had an open mind and an open heart for the music. I actually found some new gems through your reacts, bands i never heard of or never gave a real chance before. So what i'm trying to say is thank you, for showing me new bands and making me rediscover old ones, but above all for bringing such a positive energy and making my day brighter (no homo though :P). Peace
Grew up with my dad listening to Dio all the time and when I got older and discovered the modern metal scene, this cover absolutely blew me away. Killswitch is one of those bands that gave me the music taste I have today and it's awesome to see you going down the same path as you expand your taste. You're one of my favorites Alex, keep doing what you're doing.
Derek Charette fact is the word he's looking for is heavy not a thesis on music production. This version of the song is objectively heavier because of the tuning and the style of riffage. Along with tempo shifts and production layering. Just because the subject is ignorant (not stupid) to what he is trying to describe does not mean the quality is not quantifiable. Look at it this way why is a band like cannibal corpse usually considered heavier than a band like Slayer?
Dude, My favorite thing to do right now is when I get home from work, grab a cold drink and watch the latest video. Love them all. I was SO hoping you weere going to do Killswitch's version of "Holy Diver" and you did NOT disappoint, ha ha ha. Keep it up, bro and YOU have a dope ass day :)
Never heard of Killswitch Engage until my friend asked if I wanted to go to a concert with her, I said yes since I love metal and I’ve never been to a concert. We got front row seats that night, best night of my life.
You really listen to your subscribers. It’s really nice to see someone that cares about their viewers as much as you do. I was hoping that you would do this remake next and you did! It happens all the time. Thank you for sharing your opinions in such a subjective manner. It’s fascinating to see someone’s reaction to the songs I’ve been listening to for years when hearing them for the first time. All I can think about is how cool it is that the media we’ve been exposed to growing up is so different. How have you not heard any of these songs before?! It’s a true testament to the beauty of diversity within a shared culture. Thank you again. Your positivity is truly inspiring.
Love what you’re doing here man, taking a journey from having one specific genre that you listen to for a long period of time and expanding your horizons with something new. I love metal and I’m glad you’re getting into it as well! You should check out more Avenged Sevenfold. One of my all time favorite songs by them is “I won’t see you tonight pt. 1” you should definitely check that out!
Yeah, was announced earlier this year on Jesse Leach's instagram. I could not remember if it was a rumour or an actual confirmation so I had to look it up to be sure.
Both versions rock. Also, Alex, if you'd start playing an instrument I would definitely listen to you playing that instrument, even if you wouldn't be good at it. Because, it's more about the effort. Plus, you're an awesome guy in general. \m/
It's funny you showed Phil Collins, Nonpoint (an awesome and underrated band by the way) does a DOPE ASS cover of "In the air tonight". You said you liked to compare originals to covers! There ya go buddy! I hope I can win a shirt too, it won't fit my fat ass. But my daughter would love one since we watch your metal reactions together.
Ike Herrera, YES, Nonpoint does a great cover of that iconic song! But, have you seen the HELLYEAH version? Talk about goosebumps, especially now that both Vinnie & Dime are gone from us! Rock on!
Isn’t it weird that when u accidentally bite your tongue it hurts but when u purposely bite your tongue it doesn’t hurt. Like if your biting your tongue right now.
Clay Megaw Because your brain won’t let you hurt yourself like that, another example, it takes the same amount of strength to bite off your pinky finger as it does to bite into a carrot. But your brain won’t let you.
Pittsburgh by the Amity Affliction. The song is about how the lead singer almost died (something about an illness while they were on tour) I think you'd like them. They have a guy who sings and a guy who screams. Fellow Aussies like the boys from Parkway Drive. 🤘😈🤘
Omgggg yes!!! I requested for you to listen to this so long ago!!! I'm so glad you did it!!! You gotta check out LAST SERENADE BY Killswitch Engage next!
Hey man, I just wanted to jump in here. I just discovered your page a couple days ago. I was raised on Metal, and have slowly been getting into Hip-Hop. Keep up the good work, you've already listened to a ton of good music.
This video is effing hilarious! I am so entertained right now... I really wasn't much for killswitch, but I think I'm becoming a fan... Not sure what singer I like better though...
They're both great :D Howard Jones was more melancholic and emotional, as was, ofc, the Band in his Era, while Jesse Leach is more "aggressive", in my perception :D thankfully Jesse's Cleans are awesome by now too, and for your Supply of Howard's Vox, "Light the Torch" still exist :D
Yes!!! More Killswitch Engage. Especially with Howard Jones. Would love to see your reaction to Break The Silence, The Arms Of Sorrow, Reject Yourself, & This Fire. Especially Reject Yourself & The Arms Of Sorrow, they're soooo good, my favorite Killswitch Engage songs. The lyrics from The Arms Of Sorrow remind me of what it's like to suffer from bad depression and putting on a fake persona so you look normal on the outside but are falling deeper into yourself & can't stop or see any way out. Very deep lyrics. Love this band.
you know who dropped out of law school to start a band......david draiman of the band disturbed......look where he is now.....do it....do it for the team.....
Dude, awesome! I would say that Killswitch Engage merely covered it using their own style. Both are great and the opinion in which is better may change depending on ones mindset. Drop out of school Form a band Keep doing your reaction vids Grow your hair out. Another classic and cover would be Black Sabbath's Snowblind and it's cover by System of a Down. (Cocaine) Both songs are beautiful and Sytem does a great job intergrating the riffs and lyrics into a song that could almost be called their own. Seriously, if you had never heard the Black Sabbath's version, you would think it was a System original. Keep up the good work and as always, check out Inis Mona by Eluveitie
You should totally take up electric guitar! Just...maybe don't also drop out of law school. 😂 I like Killswitch Engage's cover more, but I don't know that they necessarily did it *better*...
"Whenever you react to an Original song, then a dope ass band has a cover.. Of the SAME SONG" Can we expect a reaction of Trivium's Master of Puppets cover?
I didn't consider myself musically talented, but I first started to play drums in high school. I didn't have rhythm, and coordination but it "snapped" one day and now I can listen to a song and get an idea on how they play it. Anyone can learn man, it just takes time.
Oh hell yeah man what a dope idea! All I could think of during yesterday’s video was seeing Killswitch perform this live in ATL, it was soooo good! Keep it up bro!
Alex, if you enjoyed this cover, you should try the following. Nonpoint - “In the Air Tonight” Hellyeah - “I Don’t Care Anymore” Or Disturbed - “Land of Confusion “ A real Phil Collins - Genesis lovefest!!!
That was so freaking awesome! Phil Collins in your Killswitch Engage video. Who don't love some Phil Collins dropped on them during the dope ass tshirt giveaway. Hellyeah does a dope ass remake of that exact song. By the way congrats to Jesse for winning.
Sup guy, I discover you a few days ago and you win a new follower ! It seems you pay attention on lyrics and meaning of the songs, so i'm gonna recommend you to check the band Enter Shikari. Their style is hard to define and their songs are pretty different every time, but they always have strong messages. So check their song Anaesthetist for example ;) Another band i'm asking you to look for is "Novelists" with their song "The lichtenberg figure" (pretty catchy) or "Souvenirs" (more feelings in the lyrics) Cheers from France for your job ;)
Karpaslatka same here, incarnate, alive or just breathing day light dies, end of heart ache and Disarm the descent helped me through the hardest time of my life. Also the times of grace album is another favorite.
If you want to see some more impressive guitar shit, watch Scarified (space ship live) by Paul Gilbert, anything Yngwie Malmsteen, anything Guthrie Govan or for an actual song, Tornado of Souls by Megadeth.
I know you won’t do it anyways but you should react to „The Forsaken Earth“ by Decembre Noir! Rather unknown band from my hometown in Germany. The song is really heavy and is about sadness and melancholy. Would be something different. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪💪🏻
ThatMetal Guy, greetings from U.S.! I do enjoy December Noir, but my favourite German band, at the moment, is those crazy boys of The Lord of the Lost! Bestimmt! I truly believe that Chris Harms could sing a damned phone book & it would be great! Guten Tag Freund!
jemma g i like them myself, but i feel that if i mentioned it to some people that know me I'd get crap for it like i have other bands so i just watch the videos on TH-cam or Spotify (got all the songs in a playlist) 🙂
Ah gee that's too bad. Don't worry about what other people think though! None of my friends are into any of the music I like but it's all good. Just gotta be yourself ;)
I love the energy you bring to these reactions. I'm an oldschool metalhead, and watching you react to these songs is like hearing them again for the first time. If you wanna get into some other OG metal, check out some Motorhead, another band that's had a huge influence on anything and everything Metal. You will not be disappointed! Thanks for reading, and rock the fuck on!!! \m/ :)
Haha!! Best video analogy yet using the longest yard OG and Adam Sandlers remake!! By far my one of my favorite casts in a movie as well!! Epic just epic my man! Love KSE too and Howard KILLED the vocals on the remake of Dios song! Keep up the vids man!
Please tell me you noticed the band as all the actors in the music video!!!! They had way too much fun making this video and song! I love Killswitch's cover of this song they did it total justice. Thanks for all the reaction videos! It's always so much fun watching someone get into metal
Hey Alex! You should react yo Volbeat's Lola Montes, as long as I see your videos the more I see that we share a lot taste of músic, so there is just a recommendation! Cheers from Barcelona brrrrrrro!
Alex, did you already reacted to SEPULTURA? Roots Bloody Roots or Dead Embrionic Cells are good choices! Roots Bloddy Roots th-cam.com/video/F_6IjeprfEs/w-d-xo.html Dead Embrionic Cells th-cam.com/video/c7Z8Ww1EmMk/w-d-xo.html
I'm a huge fan of well done cover songs and this is one of them. Killswitch nailed this in my opinion. Have you checked out The remake of Renegade by Shallow Side (originally done by Stxy) if not then do so it's amazing
Careful son! Your losing your chains and gaining devil horns! 😈
Speaking of losing chains, how about Unlocking The Truth's "My Chains" for a reaction video? th-cam.com/video/nHsTxoaOaO8/w-d-xo.html
\m/
Here’s a cover for you...Aaron O’keefe 46&2...they’re KIDS DUDE!
Cheers,

Man, i can't believe how many of your metal reacts i've watched by now.

wow this is an incredible comment! much love my man. much love.
True that bro!
Much respect to this, I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s mouth hath had the words stolen from them (:
Yep completely had my words taken from my mouth
a lot of us got that exact first reaction when the YT algorithm suggested it. But boi, oh boi, oh boi we're wrong and lucky at the same time.
LOLOL the moment when Alex realizes the sleeping beauty in the video is Adam in a dress (at 6:40).... lol that shit had me cracking up.
How about the drummer eating a drum stick......
I was wondering why it took him so long and that he didn't notice the very obvious hairy chest at 3:22 lol
Yeah justin must've been very hungry in the video
Can you even call ur self a hip hop head anymore 🤣🤣 u have gained ur horns 🤟🏽
Matthew Paiz he has indeed. Metal won't let him go anymore!
Yes , yes he did. His horns are in the mail
😈
It's okay to listen to different genres of music)
Grew up with my dad listening to Dio all the time and when I got older and discovered the modern metal scene, this cover absolutely blew me away. Killswitch is one of those bands that gave me the music taste I have today and it's awesome to see you going down the same path as you expand your taste. You're one of my favorites Alex, keep doing what you're doing.
Finally a Killswitch song with the other singer Howard! You gotta do The Arms of Sorrow or The End of Heartache!!
Adam Castillo legendary songs
Arms of sorrowwww
I want Rose of Sharyn but those other songs are sick too.
Yeah ..The Arms of Sorrow and Rose of Sharyn are awesome songs
Or "My Curse". That's a good song as well
Heavier is the word you're looking for
was literally donna comment this! haha
This guy is properly pretentious.
Rainbow In The Dark By None Other Than Dio
Ronnie hates that song, pal 😅
And? Most people like it
React to "ELUVEITIE - The Call Of The Mountains" my dude. I was blown away by it as a hardcore metalhead when it first came out.
All that Remains 'Some of the people all of the time' or 'Six' or ' This Calling'? Lol I am really the only one requesting this :D
I second this. Six was one of the first songs I learned on guitar, I practiced it so much until I was able to actually play it.
Safe house.. Whispers
puto piti Safe House is heavy balls but some of their new lyrics lack creativity. Just my opinion. But heavy ass track \m/
Ahhh yes, back when ATR had good songs and didn't suck
Hell yeah, he should react to `This Calling`!
Please react to Bury Tomorrow!! Their new album is mental!
Killswitch engage did a phenomenal job on this cover best ever
You should react to Fear of the Dark (live Rock in Rio) by Iron maiden
SCREAM FOR ME BRAHZEEELL
playday - overwatch plays been wanting to see his reaction to this for awhile now
playday - overwatch plays im headed to check out your channel
Actually I prefer Donington one, becouse he has more similar voice to that from the album (hoarse)
Papajjj yeah but, rock in Rio has a bigger crowd and Alex loves that shit
My dude, react to My Curse by KSE. Their best song imo
You really listen to your subscribers. It’s really nice to see someone that cares about their viewers as much as you do. I was hoping that you would do this remake next and you did! I'm honestly excited for the Jesse & Howard collaboration song on the new KSE album.
FilthyGaming oh nice didnt know they were doing a collab
Yeah, was announced earlier this year on Jesse Leach's instagram. I could not remember if it was a rumour or an actual confirmation so I had to look it up to be sure.
Jesse is phenomenal! I like HoJo. But not as much
He has a new band ( Light the Torch )
As I Lay Dying "Through Struggle" "Confined" or "A Greater Foundation"
Anthony Zuniga 😘😘
Or "Forever"
YOO *AILD - PARALLELS*
Anything by AILD!
Just waiting for you to discover Corey Taylor's version of Rainbow in the Dark. 😉
How about the entire This is Your Life album in tribute of Dio?
Both versions rock.
Also, Alex, if you'd start playing an instrument I would definitely listen to you playing that instrument, even if you wouldn't be good at it.
Because, it's more about the effort.
Plus, you're an awesome guy in general. \m/
It's funny you showed Phil Collins, Nonpoint (an awesome and underrated band by the way) does a DOPE ASS cover of "In the air tonight". You said you liked to compare originals to covers! Of Mice And Men - Second and sebring!!! You'll love it man. Waiting still!
Hopefully he reacts to "Those in Glass Houses"!
A7X A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN
As I Lay Dying! Any song
Howard Jones screaming "No! YEAH!!" on this track is one of the greatest pleasures of my life. Always puts a smile on my face.
I vote Alex learns guitar or bass and makes it a series on youtube
Mustard Bastard I'd watch that.
Mustard Bastard Should get Jared Dines to teach him
"Gotta turn this up" for every Killswitch Engage song ever!
Impossible not to I'm afraid! 😁
Damn straight
A7x - a little piece of heaven....
Dio - Rainbow in the dark
and the cover version by Corey Taylor
Not only was that an awesome cover, the video was really fun, like a Monty Python inspired spoof. But Dio’s was sublime, no question.
im really late to this video, but react to "End of Heartache" by Killswitch Engage. but NOT the Resident Evil version, the FULL version!!
*Wintersun-Sons of winter and stars(Sonic Pump studios)*
This. Rocks.
Alex since you do covers, try Triviums cover of Master of Puppets!
Pittsburgh by the Amity Affliction. The song is about how the lead singer almost died (something about an illness while they were on tour)
I think you'd like them. They have a guy who sings and a guy who screams. Fellow Aussies like the boys from Parkway Drive.
🤘😈🤘
Rob Bergeron keep mentioning this song in his videos. Hell eventually see it! Would love reactions from TAA
Killswitch is one of my favourite bands ! Just love them ! Breaks my heart that Howard left :( , he has such an amazing voice.
You might like Pantera too.
Omgggg yes!!! I requested for you to listen to this so long ago!!! I'm so glad you did it!!! You gotta check out LAST SERENADE BY Killswitch Engage next!
Also! They were an amazing band to see live man you gotta go see them!!!!!
Haydee Mullins not sure if you haven't seen it yet but he did
Juicy J oh no I didn’t! That’s awesome 😎 I’m gonna have to look that up
I've been suggesting this song forever!!! It's my favorite Killswitch song!!!-
You are my favorite reaction channel. I dont know what it is but you bring something refreshing to the "reaction" world on TH-cam. Much love man!
thank you so much :)
Alex Hefner no problem man :)
Hey man, I just wanted to jump in here. I just discovered your page a couple days ago. I was raised on Metal, and have slowly been getting into Hip-Hop. Keep up the good work, you've already listened to a ton of good music.
DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT - STORMBENDING (Official VIdeo) - I will say it till you do it
Master Key that’s a good one but he should check out Deadhead, Juular or Kingdom too
Yeah, but Stormbending is a good introduction because the production and the video are so ridiculously epic
Master Key true
Well in that case, Trivium has a cover of Master of Puppets ;)
This video is effing hilarious! I am so entertained right now... I really wasn't much for killswitch, but I think I'm becoming a fan... Not sure what singer I like better though...

Slipknot- Pulse Of the maggots
you know who dropped out of law school to start a band......david draiman of the band disturbed......look where he is now.....do it....do it for the team.....
he probably knew how to play guitar before dropping out
At least he knew how to sing like a beast!
yeah thats right he did before he worked in care facilities
And the bassist from Allegaeon actually dropped out of the band to continue his law career
Andy Tsen Lil pump 😂
Behemoth - O Father O Satan O Sun!
Hell fawking yes love this cover, Howard has increable pipes \m/
Dude, awesome!
I would say that Killswitch Engage merely covered it using their own style. Both are great and the opinion in which is better may change depending on ones mindset.
Drop out of school
Form a band
Keep doing your reaction vids
Grow your hair out.
Their guitarist is amazing. He actually produced parkway drives first two albums
Shelby and the Powerless Rise by As I lay Dying
Yeah it's not a coincidence that those two albums stand out from the rest
Ponyweek I like much more their melodic-metalcore stuff.
Shelby who Adam?
I mean to each his own and all but you did kinda go after the jews a little bit so idk how much value to put behind your opinion
"Whenever you react to an Original song, then a dope ass band has a cover.. Of the SAME SONG" Can we expect a reaction of Trivium's Master of Puppets cover?
No, because it was vastly inferior. First rule of covering Metallica, dont cover Metallica
Dr Kirb Kenneth kirby completely disagree.
Trivium isnt just outclassed, theyre not even in the same league. I like them, but theres no comparison
And thats your opinion and you're entitled to it. :)
Dr Kirb Kenneth kirby well, enter sandman cover by motorhead is just gold, so maybe dont cover Metallica If You arent a legend \m/
Meshuggah. Me-fuckin'-shuggafuck. Sorry to all for having such a potty mouth but it's a righteous and beautiful word.
I didn't consider myself musically talented, but I first started to play drums in high school. I didn't have rhythm, and coordination but it "snapped" one day and now I can listen to a song and get an idea on how they play it.
Anyone can learn man, it just takes time.
Please react to Equilibrium - Ruf in den Wind or Sabaton - Carolus Rex

Dude, some “i will be heard” would be awesome
Any hatebreed song would be good.... i definitely like I will be heard
Yeah!!!!! Hatebreed
There’s something about Dios voice that takes it to another level. Check out Blacks Sabbath Heaven and Hell album. Dio kills it.
Killswitch is soooooo talented! Glad you covered the cover👌
You need to react to Powerwolf -demons are a girls best friend!!!!!!
I'd follow your band, bro.
Grace - Lamb of God
You should check out NOT FALLING by MUDVAYNE
If you start the band, they will come.
6:38 Alex still doesn't realise the fine maiden is one of the band members.
Oh hell yeah man what a dope idea! All I could think of during yesterday’s video was seeing Killswitch perform this live in ATL, it was soooo good! Keep it up bro!
Alex, if you enjoyed this cover, you should try the following.
Nonpoint - “In the Air Tonight”
Hellyeah - “I Don’t Care Anymore”
Or
Disturbed - “Land of Confusion “
A real Phil Collins - Genesis lovefest!!!
cassidymd72 all great covers but nonpoints is fire
Nonpoint
Nonpoint
Agreed, Nonpoint for sure.
I have only heard "Land Of Confusion" by Disturbed. It is even better than the original, and is probably the greatest cover song ever.
That was so freaking awesome! Phil Collins in your Killswitch Engage video. Who don't love some Phil Collins dropped on them during the dope ass tshirt giveaway. Hellyeah does a dope ass remake of that exact song. By the way congrats to Jesse for winning.
Really Damn Awesome Cover of Dio's Holy Diver!🔥🔥🔥
Sup guy, I discover you a few days ago and you win a new follower !

I’m so glad you reacted to Killswitch. This band has helped me through some bad times in life and there such a dope band.👍🏻
He has also reacted to "In Due Time", if you haven't seen it yet.
Karpaslatka same here, incarnate, alive or just breathing day light dies, end of heart ache and Disarm the descent helped me through the hardest time of my life. Also the times of grace album is another favorite.
loved the phil collins clip lol
I'm not giving up, Alex. You can throw "Holy Diver" at me two days in a row and I'm still going to comment to get the t-shirt. I still care.
If you want to see some more impressive guitar shit, watch Scarified (space ship live) by Paul Gilbert, anything Yngwie Malmsteen, anything Guthrie Govan or for an actual song, Tornado of Souls by Megadeth.

Hey Alex, you should totally check out Motionless in White, Immaculate Misconception or America, or 570,or reincarnate :)
