    Looks like a hybrid of the two would be ideal. 3D printed part from item 1 with the clip and longer adjustable lanyard from item 2.

      Agreed

      Hey Gary! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, I agree and actually just answered another comment with the same thoughts. The 3D printed version really clicks into the controller and is very sturdy!

      Thats exactly what i have done, bought the 3d printed attachment which fits very well and replaced the lanyard for a higher quality one.

    A great example of 'you get what you pay for'. I'd actually use the lanyard on the more expensive one, whereas the cheaper one would end up being hoarded until a time I felt like binning it. Good review

    I use the Smart Controller or a tablet with a tablet holder. And I have the DJI harness-style lanyard.

    I have one like the Skyreat one. Although the device holder doesn't close completely flush, it is enough for the controller to fit in the fly-more bag.

    I have the skyreat one and its excellent, Controller still fits in combo with lanyard attached no problem.

    How funny! Bought the Skyreat one a few weeks ago, but not tried it yet. Be good to see your review.

    I'm using the Skyreat one with the sunshade (£18.99 from Amazon) and I like them both. My 3D printed one broke but I suspect it had a flaw. Incidentally the sunshade is great and doesn't get in the way of the lanyard (and vice-versa).

      @Geeksvana  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Al's Modelling & Photography! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. I am hearing some good things about the sunshade version. Might have to try one out for the channel.

    Both appear to have their flaws which would prevent me from buying either.
    DJI should’ve included a ring on the front of the controller to attach a lanyard like on the old Phantom controllers.

      @Geeksvana  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Andy! Great to see you! Yes, for me it is almost worth buying both and combining together. Still decent value and the 3D printed one clicks into place very nicely.

      @@Geeksvana The only trouble with that, is my iPhone 6S+ with its case on, is already a very tight fit. Having to take the phone out of its case to get it into the controller every time is a deal-breaker. In fact, taking the phone out of its case was a screen-breaker last year which is why it stays in its case now.
      Can't understand why DJI hasn't come up with a perfect solution for this, and tablet users, and placed a product in the DJI store, and has left it to 3rd party inventors instead to come up with half-cocked solutions.

    I have the Sunnylife version, lanyard looks as wide as the skyreat and is silky, brilliant for when i use it with an ipad 4 /sun shade

    Thanks Sean….I’d go for 3D and use one of my many lanyards….tho in reality I’ve just used ones I have and attached to on stem and gone round the back just as a security if running about lol…great vid and loving the channel…live vid there was great too on fotokite, area I work in may have lots of uses for it so will get in touch!✌️🙏👍. Oh and the £12 one has another v similar at £2,89 on Amazon too…🤔😆

    nice review, I used to use an iphone 12 pro max but for last 6 months use a Galaxy tab 5 but its actually quite light so didnt need a lanyard, thought I was going to need one. good to know if I do at some point then can get one for next to nothing

  • @flyingpinkpig

    Why bother with lanyard, I use the DJI bag. Put the strap around your neck, bag in front and rest the back of your hands on the bag. Great support and helps with control.

    • @Geeksvana
      @Geeksvana  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Peter! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. I like that idea, although with the Air 2S and Mini 2 I currently do not use the bag. Excellent idea though and will help others.

    I have the £12 one. The only problem I have with it is it doesn't hold a tablet extender very stable. Its fine with a phone but the tablet extender wiggled a little.

    • @Geeksvana

      Hey Mac282! That is excellent information, thank you. Makes total sense. I only fly this controller with a phone so haven't had the issue. Important for others who do though, so thanks.

    Hi buddy quick question. On the rear of the dji mini 2 controller is that a vent ?. The reason I ask is that I want to attach a quadlock 3m mount over it so I can attach it to my motorbike for when I am using the litchi follow mode. If it is a vent do you think doing so would cause any damage ? Thanks in advance ☺️

    not much good sadly when you have a Tripletek tablet and their mount occupies this space at the bottom of thr phone holder . Sadly no options that i can see to have a lanyard with a bigger device ... I am thinking a cover for the controller would be ideal..
    thanks for these

    I'm using the Skyreat Mini 2 Sun Hood Shade with Lanyard on Amazon for £18.99

    • @Geeksvana
      @Geeksvana  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Welshlad52! Thanks for sharing that. I did see that one as well. Good value! Is the hood any good?

    • @WelshLad52
      @WelshLad52 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Geeksvana Hi Sean. Yes the the hood is very good and easy to assemble i can't complain. I just wouldn't trust the 3D printed lanyard attachment. I prefer a injection molded attachment to much to lose if the the controller fell to the ground.

    I have a love/hate relationship with lanyards. I like using them while flying FPV, but a lanyard was to blame for my tripping and destroying a friend's controller. #ChunkyMonkey

  • @harrisonandrew

    Quick comment / question: Does anyone else think that the dji mini 2 batteries are ridiculously expensive - especially as you only get 30 mins out of one? £75 to £90 seems a bit over the top to me.
