TODAY, I was searching on TH-cam “how to use a monocle”, and your video poped up. I ended up watching few of your videos, and just said to myself, it’s a real shame this guy isn’t posting anymore. And now I am opening the YT app and seeing this. Can’t believe, unreal!
Your channel has helped me a lot to be an Edwardian man here in Brazil, the inelegance and lack of posture among Brazilian men is terrible and you have helped me a lot, I'm looking forward to seeing your new videos!
This is spectacular!!! You vanished shortly after I found you and started to look into antique menswear. The journey of you rebuilding would be great for those of us early in our own journey.
I have been collecting and dressing mainly in 1930s-1950s clothing for the past 4 years, but since discovering your channel a few months ago, my interests have gravitated more towards the 1910s and the 1920s. I was worried though that you were gone from TH-cam for good, but today I thought I'd check, and bam, you're back! What a treat!
As a lad who's more into Edwardian menswear, I'm glad that you're finally back! I used to watch your videos a lot back in 2020-22, the intro made me nostalgic. Hope you make more videos soon!
Glad to have you back, and especially to hear that life sounds like it has improved for you overall. I'm on your channel constantly for education, inspiration and reference for building my own vintage wardrobe... and conducting research for a Call of Cthulhu TTRPG campaign! Thank you for all your great work -
What a pleasant surprise! Your older videos have certainly been a great resource for me. Especially your video about edwardian summer suits, which helped me to construct an Edwardian-inspired women's summer suit for myself (I live in Texas, so layers of wool and canvas and lining are impossible 9 months out of the year). I hope you find a steady pace and look forward to what comes next :)
Hello, sir. I am sorry to bother you with this fairly out of topic question. I was watching "Antique Menswear" video about pince-nez and I saw you are an avid wearer of pince-nez. I was thinking of going full pince-nez too, but I have a few doubts. - I wanted to get C-Bridge pince-nez, but I don't know which variant to get out of the flatter bridge and non-adjustable nosepad ones and the ones with a round bridge and adjustable nose pads. Which are better? - How do I differentiate between pince-nez designed for women and for men? Thanks in advance and apologies!
@@thegasmaskguy111 i personally dont have experience with a c bridge pince nez. im wearing a fingerpiece. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. pince nez comes in many many sizes. Back in the days you would have been measured and fitted by a professional who would have had a lot of experiences with making, fitting and adjusting them. Now you would simply have to try different ones and see which one fits you best. There is no real difference between women and mens pince nez. its simply a matter of bridge size and retina distance.
It's great to have you back. I'm glad to hear that things are getting better for you. Your videos were instrumental in inspiring me to wear victorian and edwardian style suits. To this day, I wear my edwardian style suits to work (even in the triple digit heat during summer). The clients I meet with absolutely love the style, and I tell them about your channel. I'm excited to see future videos.
I'm quite happy to see you again, i been watching your videos ever since that i been looking for detachable collars and i found you which it's quite nice to see you again. I'm quite sad that many of your epic antique values were almost sold but I'm sure that you'll regain new and better ones. I can't wait to see a video about you showing spats.
Well this is great news! I used to eagerly look forward to every new video of yours, and honestly never stopped doing so. I can't believe it's been 2 years already! And just when I was getting ready to break out the starch again! I hope things remain better for you now, and look forward to the new videos!
I was waiting for 2 years And you finally are back. Your videos are great and I hope you make more. From a 3 year fan. Not my first account that I watched you on. From: Indigo
Very happy to see you back!! I discovered your channel a few months ago and it really helped me on my research for my story projects. My characters live in a late 19th/early 20th inspired era, so learning about what my men characters would wear and how was very informing. And also, i love this era and fashion! I can't wait to see more of your new collection, and learn more about historical fashion!!
Nice to see you back, I honestly thought you had been taken out by COVID or something. It's a shame about the gutting of the collection though, can only hope their new owners appreciate them as much as we all did 😊.
Yaayyy so glad i was wondering already ^^! Greetings from Germany! and hope it gets only better! I am so glad that there are more of us wearing antique garments together! stay strong and best wishes mate!
LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! edit: Knowing about your financial problems now, i feel bad for sending that tweed three piece over. The shipping cost must not have felt good at the time.
Welcome back!! I was just barely thinking today what if Edwardian people were alive in their 20’s-50’s today with our current fashions and styles available to us now, how would they dress
I like your clothing, in some ways you dress in the same manner as the Teddy Boys, who were often referred to as the New Edwardians.I wish you much success in the coming year.
I found your channel today from the monocle video because i wanted to learn more about monocles due to having a character that i like from a novel that is known for wearing them and i want to dress like him and i fell in love with your style of content from that. super excited to see there will be more to look forward to in the future!
I am very happy you to return! When I found your channel, you already went. Since then I have watched your videos several time! You are the most influencing man to my style.
I found your channel earlier this year and subscribed, mostly so I could remember your channel and rewatch your videos, not knowing if you'd upload again, so I am looking forward to seeing new videos from you! I have always been interested in history and I got interested in historical fashion late last year. I have currently acquired a number of waistcoats which sadly no longer fit me as I was working out and they are now an inch to small in the chest to fit me. I have some reproduction late 1800s canvas trousers and one late 1800s pair of denim trousers which I found much more comfortable with suspenders rather than a belt around my waist. I also have a number of several 1860s-1880s reproduction men's shirts, and a pattern to make 4 different English men's shirts from the 1860s, several Victorian era ties and bow ties including one black and one red satin bootlace bow tie, and reproductions of square backed bow tie's from the 1850s-1860s, one in black and one in brown. I am currently getting a black wool sack coat with a cotton lining made for me and hoping it have matching trousers made for me as well.
SO excited to see you comeback to YT! Sorry to hear about the struggles, but I'm so excited to see what the future holds for this channel. Welcome back! 🎉
Hello and welcome back! Greetings from Wisconsin, and hope you are doing and feeling better, and we look forward to whatever you will offer and whenever that may occur. Dawn and Paul
Yes!! I've been a long time sub & have kept checking in on your channel to see if you'd uploaded something new. I wanted to message but decided best not, just in case you were going through something, turns you you really did have your hands full. Sorry to hear that you've had a tough old time but very glad it's behind you. Looking forward to whatever you upload, when you can upload - Fabulous to have you back, Sir...
Oh you have no idea how delighted i am, i had admittedly only found your channel... relatively recently and had been wondering whether you'd continue to make videos or not!! I hope you're doing well and will be in the future!! :)
Hello sir, don’t know if you’ll remember me, Aj I ran Catweazles vintage in Winchester, you were one of my best customers. Didn’t realise you had a TH-cam channel. Have subscribed so now have a bit of catching up to do. Good to see you’re doing well.
Just about five days ago i was watching some of your videos and was thinking about that is sad you are not uploading anymore. So I was happily surprised when i heard you're back :). Also is there any specific name of that flap cap you are wearing? Could you maybe make video about antique flat caps please?
Wonderful! Welcome back!
Thank you so much!
