Tamaki is quite literally the most important character in the show. He has driven more plot points forward than almost any other character aside Lelouch and he is the whole reason Lelouch even came into contact with C.C..
@@yukijames1321 The whole reason Kallen and the other guy got caught and had to run from the military was because Tamaki couldn't stick to Naoto's(Kallen's brother) plan. The other guy you mention says that. Tamaki's foolishness and fuck ups play a massive role in moving the plot.
honestly, despite its flaws, Code Geass still has a special place on my hearth because i remember being so excited and at the same time confused for each of the last six episodes. Jun Fukuyama is my favorite japanese voice actor (and one of the very few whose name know without looking) and the "All Hail Lelouch" moment still gives me shivers.
Best way to descibe Charles and Marianne's feelings for Lelouch and Nunally... Lelouch and the student coucil. Charles may have felt bad for what he put them through... but he didn't stop. He went back and played his role as the unfeeling emperor because he thought that would be best until his ultimate goal was achieved. I love that fact that Lelouch's thinking so closely resembles his old man's and you don't even realize it until the puzzle finally comes together. Feel like they could have done a bit more with Marianna but they already pack tons of stuff into every episode. And last little bit. lelouch wasn't provoking Schneizel to see what he would do. The Trowa Foundation developed the fleiya's. The cut ties with Britannia and the warheads were suddenly missing. Lelouch already figured generally what Schneizel wanted to do and was trying to get ahead of it. loving the reactions.
When the guy walks in, in the middle of a live transmission, sits on the throne, calls himself king, and you can't take him out of there ... That's a clear sign of "We are all fucked!"

I remember just buying this Code Geass series on DVD back in 2009 with no idea of what it was about and since that time it has been my favourite anime series of all time.
As much as I love this anime I have to say that this entire subplot about the Ragnarok world was very disappointing for me but the last 3 episodes of the anime make up for it

And his demise became the crux of lelouch's fate in the tv show and movies.

I'm indifferent to sub vs dub on most shows, but the scene of Lelouch confronting Charles and Marriane in English dub is just peak voice acting. I definitely recommend y'all check it out.
If you think about it, Lelouch was the real parent (facing reality) while Charles and Marianne were teenagers (playing around with artificial worlds / Ragnarök Connection).
