The South Sudanese Lostboys, in America and Australia, built an estate in the Kenyan town of Nakuru.

- Meet Maketh Kuer Koor, one of the South Sudanese-Americans working with the Centerpiece Global Partners. The Centerpiece Global Partners Limited was an initiative started by former South Sudanese lost boys who live in the United States and Australia. Maketh, who owned another apartment in Eastern Nakuru, saw the opportunity in this project and convinced his fellow citizens to invest little money into buying land in Nakuru-Kenya and building a small village. With 45 members total, they were able to successfully establish themselves.
In 2016, they purchased 12 kilometres west of the city of Nakuru, on the northern edge of Njoro town. When Global Partners bought this land in 2016, it was a wasteland. Maketh and his team were passionate about turning the five acres into a home. The current 20 homes and fences were built in 2017 beginning. This provides locals employment for the next four to five years.
On December 18, 20 of the 28 houses were completed and ready to welcome visitors. The official opening is expected to include the Governor of Nakuru County and other officials. Centerpiece village's development has prompted additional building in the region, and Nakuru west will soon become a fast-growing sector of town.
According to the plans, the centrepiece village appears to be a gated community with its own shopping centre. The house has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a modern kitchen, and a living room. Trees are planted all around the property, and the parking lot can accommodate four automobiles. Centerpiece Global Partners have not yet revealed the rental fees for these homes.
