All their models have issues and a Hollywood actor (Anton Yelchin) lost his life due to a defect in the E-shift system which resulted in the family filing a wrongful death lawsuit for $$$$$$ millions of dollars. The family settled out of court for a hefty undisclosed sum.

Good job! Wonderful to experience my home state through the eyes of a newcomer! Over the years and as a Colorado campground book author, I have seen almost all Colorado has to offer, many times over. It is sometimes easy to forget how magnificent the Colorado Rockies are. Glad you enjoyed your time here and hope you return. There is so much more to explore . . . Happy Travels!

Glad you were deciding to come to Colorado to visit the Rocky Mountains, it’s beautiful state and there so..much to see. Maybe when you can, visit Estes Park, Co. as well. My husband and grown son took a mini trip there back in 2018 or 2019, for 3 days and so..enjoyed it. We drove through the Rockies Mountain Nat’l Park, we loved it. Best like mini vacation we had. Enjoy your time here you and your dog.

02 sensor issues with Jeeps, seems to be a fairly common issue and I’m surprised none of those dealers had them on hand . I wonder if it might be a good idea to preemptively order a full set of sensors to always have on hand to whoop out at the dealership when they say yeh we don’t have any.

😂When I retired at 62 I decided that I wanted to travel and see the West Coast from Texas to Montana and every state in between but I needed a vehicle that I understood and that if something were to go wrong I could fix so I chose a 1977 Dodge Mallard class C with a 360 v8 like you I headed out on my first journey and found all the things that weren't working and then over the next 4 years I've gone through what we affectionately call Lucy bumper to bumper everything that could go wrong has been upgraded or replaced every hose every electrical thing which there aren't many. I did upgrade it to a Edelbrock high performance intake manifold and a Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor to give Lucy some extra oomph.😮 I've got 800 amp hours of lithium and 800 watts of solar. And backups for my backup I have four separate power systems and can go totally off grid even run my air conditioner and every comfort of home.. I can't fit the stories in on our first two journeys when Angels showed up just at the right time when things went wrong and I think you'll find that to be true for you as well God is good he has Angels everywhere. Even ourselves ready to be angels for someone else angels are ministering spirits and if you have administering Spirit you will attract what you project. God bless you and your travel I hope you've solved your Jeep problem I am listening and I will follow along. I am so sorry to see how things went I am only where you are now looking at 10 days of waiting for parts that's just horrible..😢 at 5 0. 4 8 enter the story I have enjoyed your journey I would not have gone up that mountain pass in the snow..😮 but I'm wondering how do you film while driving? I mean I understand there must be a drone involved but how do you do that I thought this was like your first video you seem like you've been doing this forever and you're very good at it.

Let me add a couple of issues that us Aussies have. First and foremost, Jeep dealerships here are useless and very expensive. Secondly, parts for Jeeps can be very difficult to get and very expensive, particularly for diesel variants. Fingers crossed my Jeep has been awesome so far.

After doing this trip with the teardrop and the jeep. Would you consider or recommend a lite truck camper and a side by side on a trailer for the exploring.

    • @NowhereBoundAdventures
      @NowhereBoundAdventures  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Every rig has its pros and cons. I think the setup I’m currently using gets me better gas mileage than a truck camper would, especially if I were pulling around a side by side. It’s also another machine to maintain, etc. but we’ll see. Adventure motorcycling is something I’ve been considering. Stay tuned!

Just traded in my 2021 Wrangler. In the last 6 months it had dropped mpg from 20-21 mpg to 15.5- 16 mpg. Had some electrical issues come up too. At least I had equity in it as a down payment on a used F150 4x4. I love this truck.

@@IAmWoodyHaha, that is the mileage I get in my Jeep Gladiator(15-16 mpg). Work from home FTW, and it is worth every gas penny to drive it, more fun than I've ever had in any vehicle, including my previous Wrangler. Now if I had an hour commute it might give me pause. ;)

@@houstonartz4697 I get 15 on the backroads and city in the F150, but it is a truck and I am good with that. That Wrangler wouldn't pull my new jetski above 4th gear (manual), on flat interstate. I spoke with the dealership about upgrading my gearing with an option that was available with the JL model and they said sure, but it will void the warranty. With the truck, I have no problems. I know the Gladiator would have handled it too, but I wasn't willing to take a chance on the other issues. I must say that I really HATE the electronic assist clutch on the Wrangler. The engagement point was constantly changing and it is an unnecessary "enhancement" to the clutch function.

What I love about this video: it’s real! This is great for folks that are new to the Jeep world and “over landing”…
    Another thing I like:
You took out a stock Jeep and a standard teardrop trailer. Nothing over the top, only stuff that many people can actually afford in the real world. With some “off road” trailers topping out at $130k+ it’s nice to see that you can still go out and live with much less. It brings it down to a realistic level.
I too am a musician (drummer) and have been all over the world, I’ve been on every inch of the roads you were traveling on, and it totally hit home! Thanks for the video!

Just so that you know .. me, my wife and 1st born son Derek , who is now 30 years old did exactly the same thing.. we drove out west and stayed in the Colorado Rockies ...near Colorado Springs ... we never went back east....only but a few times to visit family ..since then we have built our dream mountain home and live on 10 acres right behind Pikes Peak at 10,000 feet elevation.. Our journey started 31 years ago .. probably for the same reasons yours is starting now .. God Bless and enjoy your journey ..we absolutely love where we are and continue to thank the Lord for what he has provided ..
    luv watching your journey ....

I'm 68 an starting that journey of some health issues myself. I recently bought a 2024 Subaru Forester Wilderness and I'm setting it up to do some camping. Some light trails will be my limit so nothing crazy. I hope it all works out for you as you start this new time.

52 here and I still enjoy and am able to do long distance hiking, but I’m considering adding a camper back on my truck and start doing some trips that way as well. I already have the truck and won’t need the added expense of a trailer.

Im a first time viewer and so far i am enjoying ur channel. It has mixed feelings for me. The last ten years or so i worked i had planned to end my days boondocking and traveling. I was researching what i wanted to travel in. A pickup for sure , shell on the back pulling a small camper. Well life went all to hell , got hurt , couldn't work , that was the worse part. Not being able to do what I wanted to . Ended up on disability, lost my five acres of land , the house i had build myself, everything, lost most of my 401k , the rest i had pulled out trying to save my place. Big mistake, throw away so much money to end up losing it anyway. Finally my old F150 give out on me. I was actually homeless for about eight months. Found this old mobil home. Now i sit and dream of what could have been. My credit score was 800 at one time, i swear thats the truth. Now i can't get anything on credit. I live two miles one way to the dr. That four miles round trip is pure hell sometimes. Don't even want to talk about getting to the grocery store. I will never have another car or truck. I can at least watch videos of people like yourself living your dream and i am really glad you are doing it. To late for me but watching videos like urs and other people give me a smile. Ty for some absolutely beautiful scenery. Stay safe and get home safe.

I live in Colorado and off-road my Jeep a lot in the back country. If you’re ever out here contact Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery. They’re a volunteer group with proper training and approval from law enforcement for doing off-road recoveries. I know a few of the people and they are all very well trained and do constant ongoing training and only use the best gear and proper techniques.
