Absolutely beautiful winter scenes, I love camping in the snow and my little DIY square drop. It’s comfortable and cozy and I wouldn’t treat it for anything.
Well you got me hooked after Colorado trip. Now I'm going to be watching all your other videos. Going to have a slumber party with my cat and your videos. Like I said I'm going through a lot and your videos are inspiring and I really appreciate it. It's helping me in a big way. Thank you again. Fredric. Olympia, WA
I'm hunkered down with my Tabby brothers, "The Boys," and have been going through a lot, too. These adventures with Juniper are helping to cheer me up, too. Best wishes to you, friend...
Nice video Mike. Yes winter is a beautiful time of the year. Personally speaking I'd much rather watch from my window or watch you on youtube rather than experience it firsthand.
40 yrs in Colorado and you just covered more mountain travel than I have. Thanks for the kick in the pants and the great scenery. Been in the Pike, Lake City and Buena Vista but haven't done those dirt road passes. Gonna have to tune the old YJ up a bit. 😁
Another cozy adventure with Man's Best Friend, Juniper! She's a beautiful dog, and that looked like a good time, all except having to chain up in the wet snow! Thanks for sharing...
Glad I found your channel! You have such a calm and pleasant personality and your videos are enjoyable to watch. Plus, I like your coverage of WV and MD. ❤ I can’t place this particular camping area, but it doesn’t really matter. I don’t wild camp. Best of luck with your channel!
Thank you! It has a furnace but it requires 110v AC power. I don’t like using a generator unless absolutely necessary. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the sub!
You mentioned the Buddy heater, and what’s great about it is, it burns almost like a catalytic converter and there is almost zero carbon monoxide It burns so completely, there’s just C02 and water as a by product, and it will shut down if C02 gets too high
The soupy hole was fun, but the bridge made me hold my breath 😲. A trick a friend taught me when starting a fire on wet ground. Put the wood on tinfoil. Ground moisture doesn't penetrate the foil. Thanks for this video. Really enjoyed.
I'm a former truck driver so I'm pretty familiar with chains and just fyi those chains are suitable for on road use only. For off road use, v-bar type chains are required for proper effect. Don't get me wrong your chains will still help a bit. I was actually looking at the same brand for my 4Runner's front wheels, because I don't have the clearance to run v-bar chains in the front.
Great advice! I didn’t show it in the video but I was struggling a bit coming up the grade to the main road. I also did leave the chains on until I came out of the mountains. I would’ve been screwed without them. Thanks for watching!
I just bought the same teardrop RV and have a Jeep to tow it. Did you use a hitch extender? On mine the trailer jack handle wont clear the spare tire. What did you do to hook your trailer to your Jeep hitch?
That’s a great question. I used a drop down hitch, I think it’s only 2”. It took me a few trips to harbor freight to get it dialed in. I tried an extender as well and figured out that I didn’t need it. I’ll cover this in more detail in a future video soon!

Bringing 5 days of food and tire chains were your 2 best decisions. Next time remember your snow pants! Lol 😁👍

What a great trip! New subscriber. Curious, why don't you run the furnace in the camper? or does it not have one?
Thank you! It has a furnace but it requires 110v AC power. I don’t like using a generator unless absolutely necessary. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the sub!
Cool video! I love the scene with the campfire through your camper window. I camp in a DIY teardrop as well, keeping it simple, keeping it easy!
I hear ya! Thanks for watching and happy camping!

LOL a Camry could have made it through that puddle. LOL...OMG....the dramatics
A Camry definitely would not have made it!! I don’t think the video did it justice. Thanks for watching!

P.S.
Almost had a heart attack when she tried going out on the fragile ice, yikes!
its a jeep
This just doesn’t look like fun at all lol!!
The snow was just a little too wet, i was hoping it would be a little colder! We had a very mild winter last year.
I'm worried about her paws getting hurt with frezzer burn.
