I really appreciate that your videos are concise. You bring the info to the point without talking for hours and you are still entertaining, relatable and funny.
Wearing the Vaporfly's for three years now, 4-6 times a week, as a trainer and a race shoe (once a week). Never had these achilles problems. In the rotation game I use a pair of Streakfly's, a pair of Adizero's and a pair of Hoka's. I always come back to the Vaporfly's. The main reason is weight. And when age matters: I'm 55, 2500K in 2024.
Thanks - appreciate your feedback!! How often do you wear super shoes? I ONLY wear them for track workouts and races. The rest of the time, just regular runners - which I think has helped me avoid injuries associated with what I feel is instability of the shoe.
Nice Video, Spencer! As I watched it, I couldn't help wondering if your use of super shoes in your training and racing may have contributed to the knee problem you mentioned in your previous video. I also had some time to think about some possible solutions for your knee. First, Olympian Nick Symmonds mentioned in one of his videos that he has an ankle problem on one side now after decades of running counterclockwise on tracks. Therefore, maybe in your track training you could run equal amounts of laps going both clockwise and counterclockwise. Another idea might be to not train on tracks, and instead run mostly going straight on other surfaces that don't require turning. Second, you could engage in a significant amount of your training using stationary equipment. For example, in one of your videos you mentioned that when you recovered from your previous injury, you did some cross training. I assume this is something like cycling on a stationary cycle or using other stationary equipment. Essentially, you could supplement your actual high-impact running with other forms of training on stationary equipment. I'm looking forward to watching your video about the Indianapolis half marathon race! John
I never tried the Nike Alphafly or Vaporflys. The Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris were my first supershoe (I just bought recently) and I highly recommend them. Legs felt great during and after the race. Supposedly, they're just like one of the Nike shoes. They gave me a good 10 to 15 sec. per mile boost. Not sure if I would recommend doing a ton of workouts in them even though they're supposed to help w/ recovery. I prefer saving them for just races or 1 to 2 hard workouts a couple-ish weeks before a race. Feels like my legs are on steriods when I run in the damn things, and I have other non-supershoes I like for most runs.
Vaporfly 2s are so bad compared to version 3. They are so solid and hard, whereas version 3 has more cushioning and personally I think they have better propulsion
Got a pair of alfaflys on a big discount, and after 1 workout and 1 long run their only use is being my recovery run shoe went my legs are too cooked, thems are not my favorite

Alphaflys destroy my calves for some reason.
hit the gym
@@_Tp___ Yep, thought on saying the same thing
Weird
That's the result of pushing too much with your feet and or your calves
Vaporflys always have worked a bit better for me 🫡
Great review. Thank-you! Everything I needed to know about the Alphafly 3 since I've been using the Vaporfly 2 to train.
7:25 this is my exact sentiment too.

Timeflys like an arrow and Fruitflys like a banana
this is an underrated comment
I just bought the latest Streakfly. Would be interested to hear your take on those if you ever buy them and test in a 5k & 10k
Have you tried the new Adidas Adizero adios 4? Looks great…
You have any thoughts on shoes with TPU plates?

I prefer the vapor fly 3
Can you give an approximate energy return for both shoes. For example, I felt that the Vaporfly 1 gave about a 15 second per mile boost.
In xc vaporflys are the no brainer pick because you probably aren’t getting the full benefits from the alphafly especially that chunky
Where do you get the vap 2s?
What size shoe do you wear?

I have the vaporflys 3! I want to try the alphaflys
My “super shoe” is the NB rebel v4 😂 I’m not fast enough for plated shoes, yet
What if I want both but I don’t have any money for either 😅

You can pretty much see this im the video how much slimer the sole is compared to the alphafly
Me watching this knowing I'm too slow to justify buying either of these 😂

Alphas are eliuds shoe. I think they look like silly outerspace astronaut shoes
The sound effect is chipping away at my mind.
He’s not racing guys..
Second
First ever.
Sorry, but I don’t care about or use Nike products.
Sorry, but did I ask
