Lam Pham just because the original was a classic doesn't mean that this film can't be better. Look at films True Grit or Oceans Eleven; in many ways better than the original.
You know. I actually think it was better he had a repeater than a shotgun in this scene. In the original it made Clint look badass. But this is more practical. Each represented their timeframe. So each works in their own way. Awesome movie!
It's more like a grim and gritty reboot of Rurouni Kenshin. Watanabe's character is a legendary hitokiri that want to forget all about his former life as an assassin but shit happens. Even the final battle is surrounded by fire and against another hitokiri. Shishio?
So interesting. Clint Eastwood appeared in the Italian remake of Kurosawa's Yojimbo, now the japanese take Eastwood's Unforgiven for a samurai story These things happen on cinema
The massive outnumbering of the Protagonist and the messy fight kind of reminded me of Harakiri, which was pretty sweet but slow-mo quite damaged the original raw nature of the scene. Other than that, amazing film.
“Ever notice how you come across someone once in a while, and you realize you shouldn’t have f*cked with them? That’s me” Clint Eastwood
This movie has to be one of the best remakes I've ever seen, easily! In some ways, even better than the original!
Nick Craig original is classic, remake is never better

This is a fantastic remake. Agreed.

Aww, they left out the best line: “you just shot an unarmed man”
“Well, he should’ve armed himself”
I need to watch this movie.
This sequel to the last samurai is awesome.
Lol

truly one of the best remakes better than the original
Kartik Swaminathan You can say that again!
Cherry C Japanese John Wick
No original is classic and it is far better
Lam Pham Japanese John Wick!

Also interesting since Clint directed Ken for Letters To Iwa Jima
To be fair Yojimbo was itself a retelling of Red Harvest.

AMAZING!!!!
