Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
10\10, the bloodshed and the carnage and the music in the background, superb!

Thats hollywood baby woohoo
Liam Neeson yelling "Prepare to meet the true Lord" while wielding a weaponized celtic cross is more terrifying than any line in Taken.
Daniel Day Lewis knocked that part right out the park. Just brilliant. 🙏
of course
Losing Best Actor to Adrian Brody was a war crime👎
As usual
@@garrettlundy3959 Daniel Day-Lewis doesn't have to worry, he's got three best actor awards. He doesn't care anymore, he's got nothing left to prove or grab his interest, and quit acting and moved away from Hollywood for sanity. He's now living in rural Ireland
Not a cellphone in sight, just people being in the moment......
Yes I could imagine this exact gang fight today 2024. " I've got this on camera and I'm going to sue you if you touch me ".
@@StuartRyan-yi5okThat would be said right after “fight me bitch”
Brilliant!
😂😂😂
@@StuartRyan-yi5okyep, you got it.
"A touch indelicate, but fair."
Daniel Day Lewis's portrayal of William Cutting was stellar. He lived this role.
"who is this under my knife"? Brutal
Дэниел Дэй Льюис просто обалденный актёр! Играет так что ты забываешь,что это фильм ты погружается в события вместе с ним!
history has a tendancy of repeating itself. keep your arms at the ready people.
The lady who flew in the air was electrifying 😂😂😂
Hellcat Maggie
Hellcat Maggie.
@@robinrobyn1714 thanks shes my favourite 👍👍👍👍👍
She's Ausome
Old school 304
Ron Burgundy deserves to be in this battle royale
Bill the butchers skills are extra ordinary 😂😂😂
Thats hollywood baby !!!
Between this scene, the Warriors journey back to Coney, and the prison island of Manhattan, you gotta love NYC.
'escape from NY'?
Yeah, also having a giant ape climbing atop of the World Trade Center in the 70s, teenaged mutant turtles running around in the sewers in the 80s, and an alien invasion in the 90s, you can't help but wonder where it's all heading to.
@@knightwind5967 it all led up to Thanos
It’s crazy that this actually happened, was so bad that the military was called in, but it’s long forgotten & not even taught.
That's not true. That was a false story developed by Hammer Inc Paper Co who secretly had a deal with Irish smugglers
@@beanseason6515 Proof of this?
@@JohnDoe-zr8pc you have Google
@@JohnDoe-zr8pc you have the ability to type and use the internet don't you? You're capable of typing in the names I commented, right?

That little boys reaction was cinematic genius
Don't bring a knife to a gun fight!
aye.
They had muskets at that time.
What guns 🤣
Butcher threw one of his own men into Valons sword in order to get the kill shot. Savage AF
Give them guns and this is every Holiday weekend in Chicago! 😂
Guns in combat = brutal mechanized warfare.
Man with club = romantic passion of a bygone Era
Pretty accurate even at this very moment. Ignorance knows every century.
keep armed and steady.
The cheek rip gets me every time..😮
It's called the iron hook
Sounds like a Samurai speech and slogans
If these ancient laws of combat exist, we need to bring this back to settle disputes.
A typical Friday night down at the local
Impresionante nunca la olvido
Daniel Day-Lewis - отлично сыграл, живет в роли каждую секунду
This is coming to every town and city in Ireland 👍💪🇮🇪
bear those arms.
Sure you got the ira murders in government 😂
Such a great actor
Esse filme é sensacional!
Fun fact - NYC modern day is more violent & disgusting than this fight scene
Epic battle.
This movie was robbed of an Oscar. A story worth watching worth talking about and utterly unforgettable. A fucking magnum opus on a series of gangs un America
Not a single Native was hurt or killed in the battle.
There will be violence acts... But at least they are civilized before start, the mark of true gentleman
Great film!!
The best.
Morticians and undertakers sure made a lot of business that day no doubt.
Those were the days!
I cant understand, why is it that the enemies seem to have crazy amounts of respect for each other??? Also, the rules of the combat are super respectful?? The horn blows and everyone stops, like a ref blowing a whistle, yet there is someone trying to kill you
i dont get it why one cant understand this. Everything makes perfect sense
It's mostly ritualized combat. Europe really domesticated warfare before the world wars.
Lol it cause both leaders know they are the same guy. They fought many times in hand to hand combat with honor which is how they earn each other respect even though they hated each other.
You should watch the movie. He explains his respect for the priest
The reason they become leaders of those groups is because they know how to treat people to earn the respect of everyone around them.
They're enemies because they're competing for something, not because they don't like each other.
NYPD thinking they don’t pay me enough for this
To those despairing of today...welcome to history.
dude brought a longsword to a knife fight... pretty sure thats not allowed.
There's a kosher butcher shop on that spot in NYC today.
Tout est pour qu'un drôle d'oiseau n'empêche pas la visibilité
For a man that talks so much about honor, had to perform a cowardly move to win.
What was the cowardly move? A croud of people behind him?
@@dylancooper8095 he grabbed one of his own men and threw him at his rival to create an opening.
That's why it cracks me up that some people don't view Bill as the villain. One of his first acts in this film was to throw one of his fellow "natives" under the bus for his own benefit. The guy was an awful human, and even Daniel Day Lewis would probably resent anyone who was sympathetic to that absolute soulless human being he portrayed.
And absolutely nobody possesses a firearm? Really?
What the heck is Dr. Brule even *doing* there, ya dingus?
this is training for NY in 2025
going to be hell to pay when that kid grows up
..Honestly, seeing the state of New York in 2024, this seems preferable.
If they win de founding the police... It's going to be like the old ways
White nationalist turner diary reading filth
We wuz kangs n shiet
Damn I couldn't agree more
It's like Bill knew how the city would be today 2024. Love Bill or hate Bill, he was trying to stop civil dilapidation.
The extra checking himself out on the blade lol in the beginning left of the butcher lol
Irish looked to have this one in the bag.
Wish battles
We’re still fought like this
It’s interesting the colors they chose
I probably shouldn’t say more on TH-cam
the prez debate is tomorrow.
I love how people will swallow a disney mary sue demolishing entire squads of 250 lb men, but this fight is just too much for them to accept.
Daniel Day-Lewis is a top 5 all time actor in my opinion.
None of this happened ya know but what a great scene.
Gangs never fought against each other in the streets???. Obviously the story not true but it's inspired by the time period.
@destroyahkush1235 gangs did fight each other but it was nothing like in this movie. The Dead Rabbits were inspired by a real gang and I think it was one more that was inspired by a once real gang. They had turf wars and things like that over different things. William Poole aka Bill the Butcher was a real person that was the leader of some gang called the Washington Street Gang and it was later to be called The Bowery Boys Gang. He was shot by a ex cop in the end working against Butcher for a rival he had apparently beat in a scrap it is said called Lewis Baker and some other guy was also involved. That's around about as much as I know but yeah they never met up with picks, bailing hooks and blades en masse I mean they did slash, stab and shoot each other from time to time but nothing like Scorseses film. Still it's a banging film well made with an all star cast, sex, violence, good story, what's not to like 😂
DD Lewis’s Millwall side coming out…👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
No touching of the HANDS OR FACE
But there was still respect between them. Bitter enemies though they were.
Is it just me or does Daniel look like Sasha Baron Cohen in the role? 😅
Did actual large scale battles like this really happen in NY back in the 19th century??
Yes. It's a bit dramatized, but all the gangs mentioned in this movie were real. In the early-mid 19th century, 5 points was what today would be called a "no-go" zone. This neighborhood would exist for about another 80 years or so after tis scene is depicted. Such famous American outlaws as Al Capone, his mentor Johnny Torrio, Meyer Lansky and Lucky Luciano got their starts in the infamous turn of the century 5 points gang. The modern American Mafia was pretty much born there with the Black Hand.
E: typo - _whay > what_
Lewis is a marble just like Dicaprio and Neeson
It's Gary from the Exploited
Never seen the film
This is how all elections should be done.
Did you throw a trident?
I’m sorry but seeing John C. Reilly taking part in this just takes some of the seriousness of the action away. 😂
No.
he does dramatic roles too, he just doesnt do comedic roles, like Jim carry in eternal sunshine and robin williams in dead poets society and good will hunting
at the time he wasn't known for comedic roles. This was before Step Brothers lol
Voilà l'exemple même de la France en se moment
🇺🇲 No gay legal in those years. It needs to come back!. 🇺🇲
Oh lord grandpas on the TH-cam again 🙄
Good old times, ancient but only like 150+ years, never got this really, medieval times seemed more recognisable, though maybe Hollywood

Well after that scene I am sure the unemployment rate will go down.
I mean, today it’s liquor stores and unarmed women so idk maybe this is better.

Wow , why u think that - I'm seriously curious 🤔
Fiction or true fighting.
Cinematography is a bit rubbish, tight out of focus camera lens shaking around all over the place so we can not see the real action clearly enough ...
It’s supposed to be like that. To emulate and convey the chaos of the fight/battle.
@@alexshank1414 But the camera is not part of the story so it should not be noticed...

Ok looking at all the stabbing and most of the people are still walking away??
I think the English & Irish deserve reparations
Pretty messed up how the butcher used another persons body as a shield/distraction to end the priest.
I think that was a subliminal touch to the movie, showing that the butcher though he is a patriot will sacrifice other patriots if necessary to get to the end of the deed. That is not a true republic or democracy because when going to war truly all have to be of sound mind and agree to put their lives to risk. The butcher represents the Uncle Sam draft so to speak; like YOU WILL SERVE! Rather than WE MUST SERVE!
I love the butcher character the whole movie is amazing. But that’s my thoughts as the butcher is a grey bad guy kinda in the movie like he isn’t bad but he isn’t good.
Why couldn't they unite?
Dairty papists
The Irish were oppressed in their homeland. Many died making the journey to America. Then they were oppressed yet again by “native” Americans. Sad😢

More violent than it needed to be
I like how pointless this movie was. They all fought for control but in the end, the government took over. It's as if they thought it would always be like this. I always hated this movie.
That was the entire point. ALL OF THAT, for absolutely nothing. Fast forward 140+ years, and no one remembers any of it, and it’s not even taught in schools. All that violence & bloodshed, but the end, it was all pointless. That WAS the point.
@@JohnDoe-zr8pc That's always what happens. Give it enough time, and hardly anyone will remember most stuff that happened this year as well. Might take 200 years, might take 500 years, might take 1000 years, but there will be a time where any of the current wars will be remembered.
Bcuz we were are pounded & pounded that certain societal victims ™ built this country & people depicted in this movie laid in hammocks & drank fancy cocktails while societal victims™ shed blood for their labor
™ blk people menstruating for the govt to pay them, ironically enough w/pieces of paper w/ pics of old wht slave owners
Theirs a reason it wasn't taught it schools. The old order are the protestants and new order were the catholics. They weren't just 2 gangs vying for control, it was Ireland then showing up in America with all the hatred. The catholics were the underclass that competed for jobs with the other underclass, blacks. The last 10 minutes of the film is abridged 3 day antidraft riots that resulted in over 150 blacks killed by catholic rioters. Hunted, beaten, lynched or burned alive. It's not a history no one's proud of.
Так родилась американская демократия.......
