Kasoa was originally called Kasoa Garba. In the olden days ( 50 year or even more ago) it was known to be the base of high Profiled armed robbers.
However, things have changed now because I use to own a block of rental Self contained Chamber Halls in Kasoa Lawyer. My family stayed there whenever we visited Ghana from Europe and we never felt unsafe Kasoa.
People knew we were from Europe yet nothing bad happened to us.
I have sold the house now but I really loved staying in Kasoa because it was safe and people are very friendly . My children liked there because its always busy and lively.
Although Kasoa is not far from Accra, accommodation in Kasoa is relatively cheaper.
Yes there is problem with flooding in some parts of Kasoa but its the same in many parts of Accra. There is a lot of armed robbery in East Legon as well that’s why people spend a lot money to protect their home in East Legon. So it is what it is.

@ Hajia Hajo, you've beautifully & candidly described it. We built our home in Kasoa CP and it's in v safe, friendly and thank heavens! No flooding. There are loads of negative connotations without real proof. Nowhere cool in other parts of Accra.

cost of property bought long ago must be adjusted for inflation in order to get the true picture of it's worth. It would probably still be cheap considering that a variety of factors have skyrocketed the cost of real estate these day, but I really doubt it's just 60 pesewas.

You need to think about the economics as well. People you're trying to encourage to move to these tier 2 and tier 3 cities are used to a certain standard of living, some have savings, some have good credit and access to capital, many have skills. Talk about the business opportunities that are there, and not just your typical build houses. What advantages does that place have, is it close to water, is it good for farming, is it good for mining minerals, is it good to set up a quarry business, does it need a small B n B, does it need gas station, does it need a bakery, does it grow a lot of food that needs processing, does it have lots of beautiful surroundings that would be great for high-end small boutique hotels... etc. etc. etc.

Ghana is not benefiting from the influx of Nigerian Migrants, It is rather a problem, they are depleting the limited resources for Ghanaians, It is a sensitive topic that most people shy away from but someone needs to speak the truth, it's not funny anymore. growing up 20 years ago the only place you can find prostitutes in Accra was circle and a few around cantonment, but now it's like prostitutes have invaded Accra from certain Country, Its not fair, all our sacrifices and hard work to keep our country sane is being destroyed right before our eyes, And they do not want us to talk about it.

I hope you will contact me next time you are in Kasoa to help you to explore the beauty of this community which has been abused and disrespected by many Ghanaians. Like any other new site, it has its own problems but the security problems have overly been exaggerated. With over 600 private basic school, it has the largest concentration of schools in a single district/municipal/metropolis in the country and its new market is one of the biggest market in southern Ghana and attracts patrons from over the country. The presence of many banks make it attractive location for business activities. What many people do not know is that a portion of kasoa (Amanfrom ) remains part of Ga south municipal of Great Accra whilst the remain part falls under Awutu Senya East.
