The world doesn’t need billionaires, while poor people struggle to feed their families . We need givers and not hoarders. Money is a by-product of business what you do with it speaks volumes. Greed is not a trait to be driven by.

I agree with Nubuke. It is nearly impossible for billionaires to make that much money without being unethical. Let's think about working conditions of Amazon workers in order to meet demand. There are so many stories of factory workers complaining about unfavourable working conditions all in the name of making profit.

I think you’re generalising here, the fact that someone is very rich didn’t mean that they skinned. people alive to get there. The world need more rich generous people. The billions of dollars of endowment money to tertiary institutions around the world , the billions to poor nations to support child mortality fights , polio vaccinations and many more are all good causes articulated by the rich. There is such thing as corporate responsibility and practice .Money can be made through hard work innovation and creativity, you don’t need to be mean or nasty to be rich .
Bash the daylight of robbers, the politicians.

For some of these billionaires it is no longer about money but the power and influence they can wield. This is where it can become unethical and dangerous. E.g. BIllionaires imposing their ideas on the course of humanity and influencing institutions and individuals to implement such ideas. Or billions spent on vanity space travel projects which could have been better spent to alleviate poverty and suffering around the world.

No, it sounds like she's coming from an anti-capitalist point of view, which some number of people are taking up these days. If someone earns their money how is it a bad thing? Many billionaires already hire a lot of people and it's their choice what they do with their money. But the fact that they give people jobs in their enterprise alone is to their credit. Because you don't always have to involve people in what you do. The powerful are more worthy of criticism than the rich. And I understand why they're discussed in the same way because they often overlap. But sometimes the rich don't really have power. How humans deal with humans is the thing to focus on, and it's where the rich usually abuse the poor, it's not about how much money anyone has personally

    • @SuperFoodParents
      @SuperFoodParents 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@blackblaze5271 Thank you for that introspection. I can agree with that as well because she was never really given the opportunity to fully explain. The anti-capitalist point of view is one that I'm familiar with but not as experienced with. 💫

I visited Volta region this Summer
. We stayed at Volta Hotel with a baby and really enjoyed the pool. We met another family from Accra that had bought a day’s entry to the pool area and did that once a year to refresh in the green hills. The relatively short drive - which is very interesting in itself w fantastic landscapes on the way, makes it a easy choice for a family day out.

I believe if you just live to make money. Then you haven't lived. It is what you do with the money you make, and how you make it. Sometimes you can't stop growth. A lot of people don't advertise what they give away. I know what she is saying that some people have a lot, and just waste while others struggle to live. So why aim for such a high goal and not help others.

I was struggling to understand why you guys could not understand her point. The history of how baron's accumulate their wealth is there and is clear. It is a bit naive to say...Oh when I become a billionaire I will do x, y and z...it never happens. The Carnegies have a foundation that still functions to donate money for the arts but what they donate pales in comparison to the wealth the amassed at the expense of the environment and people's lives. A world where few have billions while others are subsisting on less than a dollar per day in an inequitable world. Kudos young lady, we need youth like you at the helm

Jasmine, I just returned from Akosombo on Friday, after spending two days there. I actually lived in Akosombo for 11 years and attended Akosombo International School. My younger brother was born in Akosombo. Akosombo is my second home. As the former Chief Executive of Volta River Authority, my late father was instrumental in transforming the slum infested part of Akosombo, (known as combine to your right, as you enter the township) and relocated all the inhabitants to decent housing. Trees and vegetation replaced the slums.

It's a very impressive place, with fun activities such as horseback riding, canopy walk, tennis, etc. You get there by taking Marine Drive to the Maritime Club. You can take a boat from the Maritime Club to The Peninsula Hotel and Resort or continue driving on the stretch of road from the Maritime Club to the resort.

@@JasmineAmaaI heard the same thing regarding the roads, so I took a boat from the Maritime Club to an embankment on the other side (approximately five minutes boat ride), where an SUV from the resort will pick you up, drive you on a winding and hilly road to the resort (about five minutes). When you are ready to return, the SUV will bring you back and you take the boat back to the Maritime Club. The driver of the SUV however, told me that the road leading to the resort was recently graded, so it's not that bad. I saw salon cars parked, which attested to that fact.

Enjoyed this one also.. Nubuke made me think… Ok my piece, if after hitting a value in wealth you then start giving out capital without taking back profit but your principal; then ploughing the profits back into the business then maybe a lot more people will be empowered financially with more opportunities springing up. This is what I made of her argument, whether it’s feasible or not is another debate. Thanks for another banger… “one man million” 🤣🤣😋

Nubuke is 💯% correct. You can not accumulate $1B in wealth without exploiting others. Money does not just appear from nowhere. You extract the value that is being added from the labor of employees. What Nubuke is saying is that if you have a very successful business, you should do things like ensuring employee pay is high, profit sharing, stock options, top notch health care, etc. Nubuke understands the economics. There's a reason Apple manufacturing plants have to have catch nets to prevent people from jumping to their deaths, while Apple passes $1T in assets. Jasmine and Marintia... Gotta say, a bit disappointed, but there's always room to learn.
Edit - To bring a direct example, Elon musk and many other tech billionaires are exploiting people all over Africa to obtain the rare earth metals and other elements needed to make those cars/devices. Those people are getting basically nothing but enough to buy food to survive to the next day and do it all again. Modern day slavery.

False. And also a lot of people make money unethically not just billionaires 😁 That's how humans function. That's why no system is perfect. We've already had our past with socialism and other ideologies (they only lead to destruction). Let's not entertain this nonsense cause it's trending now. The only way a billionaire can make their money in a less ethical way than others is by not following regulations and not paying their workers reasonably. We don't need to turn into ideologues or be steeped in ideological battles that make a mess of everything. That's the last thing ghana or africa needs

stop interrupting nubuke talking about billionaires. she makes great sense. they could, for instance, pay their employees more, but they don't. that benefits many. in the u.s., these companies don't even pay taxes yet they get tax breaks and other benefits. and no, they don't give as much as they could. in the u.s., a lot of these "gifts" are reported. you guys didn't even want to listen to her. nubuke is correct. the world does not benefit from elon musk or jeff bezos being worth $100+ billion.

I live for your videos, I am often transported to a beautiful vacation location. Keep up the good work. To whom much is given, much is required, one can't give a lot if one does not have a lot to give. If one has a lot and do not give then that becomes a problem. Just my $0.02😀

Yes. Individuals can own land in and around Akosombo.
I actually own a 3.2 acre land I'm looking at selling/developing into holiday homes.
Secondly just a point of correction: the Adomi bridge is actually loosely the division between the Eastern and Volta region.
I was born and raised in Akosombo anyway.....😉
