    The Irvine Company, LLC. is an American private company focused on real estate development.
    It is headquartered in Newport Beach, California, with a large portion of its operations centered in and around Irvine, California, a planned city of about 280,000 people mainly designed by the Irvine Company.
    The company was founded by the Irvine family and is currently wholly owned by Donald Bren.
    Since the company is private, its financials are not released to the public.
    However, Donald Bren is the wealthiest real estate developer in the United States, with a net worth of $16.4 billion in 2019.
    The Irvine Company owns several large retail centers, including The Market Place and Irvine Spectrum Center in Irvine, and Fashion Island in Newport Beach, which is surrounded by the Newport Center commercial area.
    The Irvine Company also holds several office properties, particularly in Irvine and Newport Center, the Fox Plaza in Century City, Los Angeles, the MetLife Building in New York City, and nearly 550 total properties throughout Coastal California.
    A number of corporations, particularly in the technology and semiconductor sectors, have their national or international headquarters in Irvine.
    Irvine is also home to several higher education institutions including the University of California, Irvine (UCI), Concordia University, Irvine Valley College, the Orange County Center of the University of Southern California (USC), and campuses of California State University Fullerton (CSUF), University of La Verne, and Pepperdine University.

    I spent 4 years in Irvine and graduated from UCI a couple years ago. All I can say is that Irvine's really a place to live. Nothing fancy there but comfortable with nice weather and safe communities. You can stroll around the city at night without being concerned.

    Gotta tell you your dashcam vids helped me cope with my homesickness so much. My family used to live in Irvine while I was in Pasadena. I occasionally used to drive through freeway, the exact route you drove to see my beloved ones when I was on a break from college. My family is not coming back to the States and I've missed Irvine so much.

    Among the worst planned cities along with much of South Orange County. Should have been planned like Historic Orange and Balboa

  • @annah7783

    The title of this should read “Driving Tour of North Irvine”. You basically toured Irvine north of the 5 freeway. The majority of Irvine is in between the 5 and 405, as well as south of the 405 freeway which you ignored.

    Does Irvine really have a downtown?
    Or is it just the spectrum?
    Just realized that sounds like a joke but I swear i's not, it's a legit question.

    • @cboy0394
      @cboy0394 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      yes it does technically near Main/Jamboree. well at least that’s the city’s plan make this the downtown.

    • @saynotop2w
      @saynotop2w 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The college area and spectrum are pretty busy, though

    • @aaronromano261
      @aaronromano261 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@saynotop2w I think Irvine is way too large of a city not to have a downtown. Even Santa Clarita, which is the same style city and has the same population, has 2 downtowns!

    • @midnighttrain7844
      @midnighttrain7844 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@aaronromano261 can I ask which area is better if we put Santa Clarita and Irvine in compare?

    • @aaronromano261
      @aaronromano261 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@midnighttrain7844 I would say that both provide a big city atmosphere, but Santa Clarita provides a little more of an out-of-the-way atmosphere. There are bad areas of Santa Clarita, but not many. Irvine is slightly more wealthy while Santa Clarita has very clean streets. Santa Clarita also has the paseos, which are pathways that run throughout the Valencia neighborhood. They are very clean and safe. Overall, both cities are nice, but it really comes down to personal preference.
