Happy Joe doing a review of the Frontier. We need to see on test drive one thing gotta say love the looks really huge upgraded after many years ago. It might be better than Tacoma and Ridgeline. They done a lot of work with the Pathfinder and Frontier the brand really trying back on the game.
No you're not. I thought the same also. Nissan did good here. Good looking truck with a naturally aspirated engine. When the time comes I really will take a hard look at this truck. I like the SV trim. Nicely optioned in the video.
@DevilDog53 yea it was a freaken badass truck, not many people know this but the reason the frontier is so much more heavier then the Tacoma is cuz the Frontier is built on the same Nissan Titan full size frame but shorten to fit the Frontier, for that reason itself the frontier is able to feel much more in control when pulling heavy loads. Also the legendary 4.0 VQ series V6 was amazing! The power was really impressive back then in 2005 it was rated at 265hp and over 28X pound feet of torque, all that torque made it feel like it had a V8…..the average fuel economy also made it feel like it was a V8 lol
This was the truck that we were going to buy. We actually went to a Nissan dealer on August 7th to find out when they were getting them but after my wife sat in a 2021 Frontier on the lot, she didn't like it because if felt tight to her. She looked at me while sitting in the crew cab and shook her head "no". LOL! So we had to go with the Titan instead and love it. You have to go for the truck that fits your needs. Joe, you said this truck went for about 42K. That's what we got for the Titan SV 2wd truck that we found. Got a heck of a deal on our new 2021 Titan!
As an off road racer, raced the hard body.. It's where the torsion bars in the front suspension, this is video all about interior and exterior, they have always have solid rails!! Would love to see his comparison with all of the trucks that he mentioned in this video head to head off road!!!!
Definitely the best looking in it's class. It reminds me of the early 90s Dodge Dakota. I'm getting this truck in January. Great job Nissan, Great job Joe & Lori 👍👍👍
14:53 The lumbar is a separate handle on the right side of the seat, I have a first gen frontier and they've been doing it since then. You can see the lever at 14:32 behind his elbow.
I wish to get this truck now. Its a perfect mix of modern but still simple too. I don't want no only a screen for speed. And not the actual analog speedometer. I love keeping that. Most importantly. Its not overdone with the screen like all these other trucks now! Andd even better its a v6 without the dumb turbos!!! They're preserving the good. Thats what i want!
Another great vehicle review. I have a 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro4X in the deep impact blue on deposit with my local Nissan Dealership. The truck arrives in four weeks. I cannot wait!
Welcome to my state. I see you were in Heber Valley and driving by Deer Creek reservoir. I just noticed that truck in a Nissan dealership in Orem, Utah and I love it. Thanks for the overview...🎥😃👍👌👊👊👊🚙
My base price of my 2019 SV was 30,000 so it went up 5,000 more in just 3 years, WOW it may not seem a lot but it is in my opinion because most people salaries don't keep up with the ongoing raising pricing. Average salary of the American is 30 to 35K a year. If you wanted to buy this truck on that salary you probably couldn't afford it, is what I'm saying. People are being priced out of the new car & truck market.
Careful with underbody rust on these "new" 2022 Frontiers, I've seen 3 of these at the dealership with rust on the drive shaft, dif box, some on the suspension
Damn dual zone ac and heated seats and sunroof on a SV trim? That’s freaken badass!!! I wish you could option it out with the rear locker from the pro4x
Went from a 2015 Tacoma to this truck. Much better engine and transmission than the Toyota. Better than the new Toyota also.very nice cabin drives nicely, transmission performance is flawless. Better mileage than the Tacoma. Overall very well done truck, nice job Nissan.
I never had an issue with the previous version. I own a 2019 and love it. It’s a small truck that has all I’ll ever need and does exactly what it’s intended to do. Plus, I paid $10k less than any other small truck on the market. And it looks good. I feel like they made a change because they haven’t made one in so long. Also, everything new gets more expensive. Now the Pathfinder… they hit that out the park.
I just sold my Nissan it’s almost 20 years old. It has 100,000 miles on it never had any mechanical problems with it at all amazing vehicle. I’m thinking about buying a 2023 is there anything different about the 2023 versus the 2022.
After 7 new Dodge/Rams since 2007, 4 of them 2500 4x4/Cummins I traded my 2018 2500/Cummins for a Tactical green 4x4 SV with convience and tech group. I have 2750 miles on my new Datsun and it is in the shop with issues. The cloth on the front seat has separated from the seat bottom. The rep looked at it on 01/12/22 and approved a new seat. The seat has a slight rock from the play in the electric adjuster linkage. The transmission has surging issues ever since they idled it up to eliminate the rattle/harmonic vibtration in the sheet metal on the engine with 300 miles on it and something is not jiving, Idon't know maybe it is the throttle body thing communicating with the transmission that it is time to go and it means quick. And that is when a Tervis tumbler of water or whatever it has in it pours all over your center console. The dealer has had me in a rental Rouge since the rep looked at my truck and a rep from the factory has called me on 01/13 and on 01/14. As far as design flawsgo the center console has about as much use as a bread box turned on end , the cup holders will not hold anything unless it is 3 3/8 in diameter and straight sided. The bluetooth dies when you parlk and kill the ignition. If you are on an important phone call and need to finish before switching to your handset, which is not seamless at all then you must finish with the engine running. Nissan took until 2022 to invent the gas powered cell phone, I am sure the Climate Change crowd is going to love that one. The popups that remind you to increase the volume on your connected device and the one that reminds you that"your call history has been updated" are so old at 2700 miles I can't even imagine keeping this truck for that reason alone. They hang on screen for 4 to 5 seconds. I didn't enter into my blue tooth to read, I did it to make a call. Why don't any of you reviewers point out these real world consumer tips. Their is a lot to love about this truck but if you are a dyed in the wool truck buyer like me then these are far more important than the remodel they put on the gen II. I bought this as my retirement vehicle as I am 62yo and chose this truck based on my families good history with the brand. This is my first new Nissan and my first small truck in 45 years.
@@brad4527 I still have it. I don't drive it much as I have really lost the desire. It only has 3900 miles now. I saw a 2022 Tacoma 4x4 loaded at World Toyota the other night that had just come off of the truck so I called the new car manager the next morning to tell him I wanted to trade and I would be on my way. It was military green almost exactly like the Nissan tactical green. It was a preorder for the service manager. My truck still has all of the blue tooth issues. And now has started changing the radio to AM from Fm or SAT when I turn it off. The next morning I have to set my radio back to the source I prefer and many mornings reconnect my phone to blue tooth. It has been the most disappointing vehicle purchase I have made in years. Read around the forums, these trucks are having issues.
The truck is nice but i still see it as a previous generation frontier with modern touches. Both the the previous and this generation are good looking trucks.
Bought the 4x4 sv, waited for 1 year for this truck to be released. If you drive conservatively you can get 24 mpg on the highway and 20 in city.1800 moles on truck so far love it. Waiting for Nissmo to release performance add ons.
I like how they kept the design relatively clean and simple. Most new vehicles are overdesigned. The new Tundra for example looks terrible from the front.

I am in the process of buying one. It drives very quiet and handles great. I wish it would tow more but I can live wth the lower towing capacity. Looking forward today to take delivery!
Nissan has an uphill battle on their hands. The good think is that they know this and are putting all of their R&D into restoring their identity. This is a great vehicle!
Besides the crazy food references, not a bad review……EXCEPT FOR ONE THING……..there is a lumbar adjustment on the driver’s seat. It’s on the right side of the driver’s seat back and it’s a manual adjustment very clearly shown in your video.
What a presentation dude! You ought to be real proud of yourself and your help. I Love the new Frontier, but the Title on my 2018 Frontier SV says don't even think about it. If I happen to have some disposable income in the next 2 years, I may give it some consideration.
So glad they left the stitching on the dashboard even in the lower trim. But with the facelift - in 10 years - they need to fill out the whole space for the infotainment. 😁
I’ll be buying a midsize truck probably in the next year or 2. I always thought I’d go Colorado. After seeing this new Frontier I just found a truck I’d be happy with. The new look is fresh yet bold. Also the interior is MUCH nicer than Fisher Price Chevy. Good job Nissan!!
Nice review and always appreciate your sense of humor. I have a 2012 Frontier.....SV, full bed, 6 speed. Have to say, while there is a lot to like on the new model.....a lot of the details look pretty similar. Some much needed changes but they went old school on some aspects. Given the chip shortage....I wonder how availability will be and will we be able to find choices on dealer lots????
Your reviews are great and stay away from that garbage food! You forgot to mention the Ranger in the midsize truck group. The Ranger, Colorado, and Frontier are on my list. The Frontier will need to be more flexible with their pricing to attract more buyers like in the past.
I just bought this model in the Gun Metallic color. With added upgrades of the Technology package and the Convenience packages it came in at just under $40K. If you compare that to a Ranger XLT the price is comparable plus you can’t even get either the Toy or the Ford with heated seats, steering wheel and outside mirrors which is what u need if you live in a northern state. I also got the factory spray-in bed liner which stops your cargo from sliding around like in the Tacoma. Plus the Ranger and the Tacoma are both due for a redesign as well. You get a lot for your money with the new Frontier! Great review BTW, a lot better than some dude who just drives around the block and gives it “doug score”.
I like this SV model. I always make my cars my own so top level trims don’t matter unless it’s a Ford platinum / king ranch or Denali. Their top trims are hard to beat.
I really like this new Frontier Truck, it will certainly give the competition a run for the money . I would certainly add this truck to my shopping list .
Its looks better than its predecessor. With respect to reliability and durability, only time will tell. That naturally aspirated engine is also a good choice.
Love the look. It’s always been the affordable midsize option, but you felt that affordability in looks. Now it looks like a little, highly customizable monster that makes me go “ok I won’t just stick with a canyon or Colorado.” Guess options moving forward ain’t bad for me

No you're not. I thought the same also. Nissan did good here. Good looking truck with a naturally aspirated engine. When the time comes I really will take a hard look at this truck. I like the SV trim. Nicely optioned in the video.
One thing I liked about my 2005 Nissan Frontier crew cab 4x4 is that it was still relevant new for like 16 years lol
Got a heck of a deal on our new 2021 Titan!
great review!! comments on the twinkies and candy made me laugh. Love your content!
One of my favorite channels! How you describe spots lol You must love your sweets and junk food and that is the most down to earth review.
Very informative, excellent video and
Appreciate your humor 👍🏼😎
Nissan is really making a huge comeback
Screw digital gauges I love the one in that truck just perfect 💯💙👌🏽
Saw this truck and wanted it, looks great in person....
I just bought the SV in Cardinal Red, it’s a beaut! Chose it over the Pro 4x
14:53 The lumbar is a separate handle on the right side of the seat, I have a first gen frontier and they've been doing it since then. You can see the lever at 14:32 behind his elbow.
Pulled the trigger yesterday I'm excited
I own a 2019 Nissan Frontier Sv and I love my truck but I do love the upgrade to this new 2022 Nissan Frontier Sv.
"He said dont stick your twinkle in it, that will hurt" 🤣🤣
Time stamp?
@@OldManMoe 12:50. Idk if he was trying to be funny but it was.
Glad you reviewed a SV. Everyone else did a pro4x
We did both, the Pro-4x and this SV.
@@RaitisRides If you get a chance maybe a more basic SV with cloth? Or even a king cab?
@@RaitisRides How about the turning radius? The older gen turned like a boat.
What is the msrp on it
@@alexmountis5979 $42,000
Welcome to my state. I see you were in Heber Valley and driving by Deer Creek reservoir. I just noticed that truck in a Nissan dealership in Orem, Utah and I love it. Thanks for the overview...🎥😃👍👌👊👊👊🚙
That is so very cool Danny! Thanks for sharing that!
Loved the updated Frontier design is absolutely fantastic.
Color awesome .
Cheers to Joe. 🙂🙂🙂🤘🤘🤘🤙🤙
Wireless apple carplay , few more small tech options
One thing I’ve come to realize in my lifetime is that nissan/infinity offers the best v6’s
This is my first new Nissan and my first small truck in 45 years.
how are things with the truck or did you get rid of it?
I love your style joe. Blessings from 🇯🇲 I have been thinking long and hard about my next vehicle and I honestly think it will be a frontier
Yeah it looks like a bulldog mascot it’s weird
Careful with underbody rust on these "new" 2022 Frontiers, I've seen 3 of these at the dealership with rust on the drive shaft, dif box, some on the suspension
I loveee my frontier sv midnight edition plenty of power my dad drives a Tacoma and he even said it’s zippy for a v6
Excellent video, that Frontier is🔥
I am in the process of buying one. It drives very quiet and handles great. I wish it would tow more but I can live wth the lower towing capacity. Looking forward today to take delivery!
Awesome review joe as always ur the best…
Thanks Jose for tuning in and watching!
Nissan has an uphill battle on their hands. The good think is that they know this and are putting all of their R&D into restoring their identity. This is a great vehicle!
Currently have a 2005 Nissan Frontier, SV trim, 211, 000 miles. Been waiting for this... Hope & pray I can get one 🙏
Dude, the new ones are $40 to $50 thousand
Besides the crazy food references, not a bad review……EXCEPT FOR ONE THING……..there is a lumbar adjustment on the driver’s seat. It’s on the right side of the driver’s seat back and it’s a manual adjustment very clearly shown in your video.
sasquatch juice! crackin' me up lol! great review! i'm buying one of these for sure!
What a presentation dude! You ought to be real proud of yourself and your help. I Love the new Frontier, but the Title on my 2018 Frontier SV says don't even think about it. If I happen to have some disposable income in the next 2 years, I may give it some consideration.
You're the man, Joe. .... Lori, you're the man too....
She is the WO-MAN!
Lol
Good review, thanks!
Like you mentioned. Wish Nissan put telescoping steering wheel in the Frontier.
So glad they left the stitching on the dashboard even in the lower trim.
But with the facelift - in 10 years - they need to fill out the whole space for the infotainment. 😁
Nice!! A Frontier on the frontier (backdrop).... :-) Great redesign... :-)
I was waiting for this
I knew you were! I hope you like it!
I do
I’ll be buying a midsize truck probably in the next year or 2. I always thought I’d go Colorado. After seeing this new Frontier I just found a truck I’d be happy with. The new look is fresh yet bold. Also the interior is MUCH nicer than Fisher Price Chevy. Good job Nissan!!
Your SV is the only truck I've seen with those type of headlights. Every other SV I've seen has the halogen headlights.
Great job Joe! Nissan has hits a huge home run!
I really like this new Frontier Truck, it will certainly give the competition a run for the money . I would certainly add this truck to my shopping list .
Lumbar adjustment is on inside of seat back
I think it did have manual lumbar adjustment on the RT side of the drivers seat
I really like it good review as always a fan from west Africa sierra Leone
We love your support!
Its looks better than its predecessor. With respect to reliability and durability, only time will tell. That naturally aspirated engine is also a good choice.
That msrp is a joke, they better have a $8k rebate
Buy a lower trim then or take a 2wd
Love the look. It’s always been the affordable midsize option, but you felt that affordability in looks.
Now it looks like a little, highly customizable monster that makes me go “ok I won’t just stick with a canyon or Colorado.”
Guess options moving forward ain’t bad for me
Nice review keep up the good work
I think this model looks better than the one with all the graphics on it.
I knew many people would.
Dicker gang where we at lol love this guy
You are hilarious!
An Xterra with this frontier platfrom will be something special.
