I live in a medical facility and have seen this happen TWICE. One nurses husband died and forced her to work less than a week after when she was supposed to get a month off and they held her pay. The other was an RT and her ex died in a car accident while she was working. They were still in love and gotten the divorce a month prior. She was forced to work the whole time. She got lucky that his funeral was on her day off.
Unrelated but a CNA was murdered by her ex and the staff and patients sent cards and condolences to her family. She had JUST given birth three weeks prior. Did management do anything or even acknowledge her death? Nope. They didnt even know her name. Mind you, these are the same managers who hire people and say the red flag line of "we look out for each other. we're family here!"

I lost my son right after giving birth due to a heart condition the fetal cardiologist overlooked. Unfortunately, I didn’t have children before and had a total hysterectomy several months after he died.
It’s been 13 years and still hurts. I have so much sympathy for this man and his fiancé. Jumping from the greatest joy to unimaginable grief.
It may mean well, but please, don’t ever say “*Child’s name* is better off in heaven”; “God needed another angel”; “You’ll eventually get over it”; “You can adopt or become a foster parent”, or anything like those examples. It isn’t helpful.

It’s bad when they immediately recommend adoption or foster care for these people trying to have kids or can’t have any at all. They need to realize not everyone has the patience or money for that. We all know foster kids are usually traumatized and it truly takes people with the patience of a saint to deal with them. She even told me someone got into a car accident on the way to work and they still marked them as such. Even if you got sick, COVID, for example, they said a doctor's note would not do anything. My wife was sick for two weeks with COVID, and because of that, they were on the verge of firing her for "missing too many days of work". Well when it's for TV you can always doubt the claims made, TV shows are so full of lies, this was probably made up for drama sake. That's why the employer wasn't named and a big reason I was thinking the story stinks. Lastly in 2003 I lost my daughter at 3 days old to a heart defect and a shitty hospital with disgusting people working there that didn't care about that little baby, I could never smile so big like that guy about talking about her passing, it was traumatic. It's also something I wouldn't tell someone I just met either, you would have to know me for awhile for me to want to talk about it. No not everyone is anything like me, but I agree I dunno how you can smile and be happy like that unless there are other things like using it gain sympathy or if it were true well not every father cares about their kid(s), again from personal experience with my own dead beat dad who took out insurance on me hoping I die before him so he can make money off me, no joke, we have had no relationship for 15 years but he has life insurance on me. He hates my wife and kids he would never give it to them... Sorry I know some twisted hard hearted people that won't love their own kin, they ain't nothing special in life there are loads more just like em out there.

So many other countries have LAWS [protecting the rights of employees such as mandatory PAID Bereavement Leave, PAID Paternity leave even China give new mothers 88 days paid leave!), PAID annual leave and Public Holiday pay, Sick Leave and Carer's Leave! No one should be frightened of having their employment terminated without prior warning just from being absent from work.

You've fathered a child; the participation in giving that child life has already happened, and the child already exists with his or her own unique DNA, and from now on will just get bigger. But obviously, a lot of the FUN of being a father, and the part that will make an impact on your son or daughter's development in future life, is going to start when you hold and kiss and play with the baby, and that's the part that you'll really get to start enjoying around Thanksgiving. And literally I wasn't driving 2 hours there and 2 hours back for a 2 hour shift at minimum wage when they knew my semester ended and i was going home for break weeks before they announced the holiday black out dates. What a terrible thing to do to someone. I agree name and shame the company who fired him. Wonderful undercover new boss who obviously looks after his hard working staff.❤❤❤

If I owned a company, everyday I would ask my employees how are you doing and do you need anything. And if something like this happened to them, I would tell them that their family comes first and then I would help pay for the majority of the medical bills. God bless this man and God bless this employer.

Creating wealth and financial freedom isn't as tough as many people believe.
Building wealth and remaining financially stable indefinitely is a lot easier with the appropriate information. Participating in financial programs and products is the only true approach to make a high income and remain affluent indefinitely...

I couldn't agree more. Taking charge of your life and putting in the hard work is the path to success. Having a portfolio manager like Mr. Samuel Peter Descovich is a game-changer. Their expertise and guidance can truly transform your financial journey. Making $35,000 in profits each month and saving 70% of that is quite impressive! They save you time and provide valuable insights that lead to impressive profits. Keep up the amazing work, and enjoy the fruits of your labor..

I've shuffled through a few experts in the past, but settled with SAMUEL PETER DESCOVICH. The strategy he use is recession-proof, more specifically profit-oriented , and most likely, you'd find his basic info on the net, he's a renowned advisor.

It’s unfortunate most people don’t have such information, I don’t really blame people who panic cos lack of information can be a big hurdle. I’ve been making more than $65k passively investing with Samuel Peter Descovich, and I don’t have to do much work. It doesn’t matter if the market is crashing, I will always make good profit returns.

Such a sad and then uplifting story. No human life regardless of how young or old is worth less than the dollar bill. It's unfortunate these large companies have the power to fire you for anything without exploring all the aspects and violating the company's mission statement just to make that one extra dollar.

This makes me sad but I’m not surprised a company did this. I worked for a popular retailer during the holidays. I ended up in the hospital during Black Friday. My parents called to inform them. When I came back I got reprimanded by my boss and they let me go. She said I didn’t show up for Black Friday. I told her I was in the ER and then kept. I reminded her I had my parents call since I couldn’t. She said and I quote, “That’s no excuse” I had another job where I lost my grandfather and my boss told she denied my request off for the funeral because I faked a death. I decided to just do a no call no show and the next day I slapped the documents from his funeral and slammed the door behind me. Definitely not the same situation as this gentleman. Black Friday is often seen as be here or don’t bother coming back. It’s not okay.

This young man has my deepest of respect and admiration! Back in 1991 I was given an ultimatum by my boss as my wife was at the hospital going through labor. I had to decide whether I wanted to remain with her or come in to work. I chose not to leave my wife and was terminated. Even though we had just moved into our first house and had other expenses I have never regretted that decision. Our oldest son is now 32 years old and of us are doing well. I have no doubt that this young man featured in this story is also in a similar position as well.

I worked for that big box store. I had 2 heart attacks in 1 week, having to have stents after the 2nd one. Hospitalized for a week, but my daughter had to call in every single day to let them know I wouldn't be working, because, stupid me, didn't apply for a leave before I collapsed. The very day I got out of the hospital, I went to the store I worked at to pick up prescriptions. My manager walked by me, I was in a motorized cart, bruised on my arms from multiple needles. He never asked how I was feeling. He wanted to know when I was coming back to work. My husband told him to go eff himself. I was out 8 weeks. Same manager got fired for cooking the books and is banned from ever working retail again.

Who could possibly be that cruel to fire a man the same day as his baby died? Bosses like that do not deserve any respect and can kill a company when the staff have had enough. I'm from the UK but was working in South Korea. While there, my grandfather died. I was a teacher and it was coming up to test time so everyone was busy. When I told my boss, the first thing he asked was "When are you leaving?". It wasn't even a question of if I was leaving or not, he gave me the go ahead. My respect for him skyrocketed.

That guy has a great attitude, but you can definitely sense that he puts forth great effort in that great attitude to help ease the suffering that comes from losing a child. I'd be irreparably broken if I lost one of my children. May God bless this man and his family.

I worked as a county employee, and after my son was born with a congenital defect and needed to have surgery shortly after (when he was 3 months old), I took unpaid FMLA time. I kept my boss aware of everything, and when my son’s surgery was delayed by one day, I let her know. When I called to let her know I was coming in (one day past the 3 month mark), she told me don’t bother and that they considered that I had abandoned my job. Karma got her though when she later was convicted in court on separate issues. But it was a real betrayal and it amazes me that people can be so callous and cruel.

Walmart did this to my wife and I. We had an extraordinarily hard pregnancy, doctor gave her restriction papers and HR said if she put those papers down on the desk that she would be fired. She went back to work and We lost our son that day. He wasnt ready yet.
A few years later i was fired just for being diagnosed with a demyalinating disease and spinal issues.
This stuff happens a lot and should cost the these corporations dearly.

His story reminded me of my time at Walmart and all the horror I witnessed. Very sad to know he went through this and was given the added stress of not having a job. I guess the good news is that he was gifted the departure from such a toxic workplace. I also mean this in the best possible way but if they ever make a movie based off the character Max Headroom I hope someone keeps this guy in mind cause that was the only thing I could think about during most of this video.
