After 2 hours and 58 minutes of watching Braveheart in a movie theater when it was first released, the credits started rolling, and it was such an epic movie, and I loved it, but my reaction was still like, "there's no more?!??!" 3 hours felt like it went by too fast, because I enjoyed every second of it, not one boring moment at all!
I’m a Muslim Lebanese woman and it’s my favorite movie. Any group of peoole who have to fight their oppressor will never forget this movie. We feel it in our bones. FREEDOM!
The accuracy have never mattered. It’s message and heart were powerful. Just resonated with western spirit. The cinematography was amazing, holds up to this day. The acting superb, of course. One of the best
Agreed. He also nearly died during the hanging scene cause he did it for real and was injured. (Much like Brendan Fraser in the Mummy.) I was only 8 when it came out but I remember the first time I watched it and I think that was the first time I remember being proud of being Scottish.
The premiere was actually at Stirling University because i went to see it. It was fantastic, Mel in his kilt, lots of stars attending. Ally McCoist running in late to the crowds chants of super ally! it was amazing. They had the after party at Stirling Castle that night. It looked beautiful. It was the only movie i ever attended where people, at every screening, yelled at the screen and stood and applauded at the end. Its impact in Scotland was monumental.

Brave heart should have been released several months before the Scottish Independence referendum in 2014. Maybe just maybe it would have helped Scotland to win its freedom from England.
Series 1 of outkander was due to do exactly that but uk PM (DC) is rumoured to have approached Sony to delay till after indepenence vote...it was shown in America in August 2014 and in the UK 2015...?
@ the Clare, the biggest oil field in the world was discovered just before the independence vote. David Cameron and the British government made every worker sign the official secrets act. Some workers refused to sign it so they kept them on the oil rig until after the independence vote 😡😡
God bless this man. May Jesus be always with you our son. Our Son of the World. We all know you always shone the light of Christ. In the darkness of these greedy Hollywood times. We know. We all know.
I to this day still think of Mel walking into the room in the movie. Where he was trying to rally them all to fight. And he said to them you know what will happen if we don’t try? He then said nothing will happen. It was enough to get them all to push forward to keep fighting. Love that scene ❤
Scotland loves you❤. Its things like keeping the wee thistle flower for years, thats the kind of things we do, take special care of things that cost nothing, then they are priceless... Stirling Castle, The Wallace Monument shows how the people here feel about William Wallace for 700 years.
Best movie of all time. Action and special effects are phenomenal. There's romance, drama, revenge, a splash of comedy. I've seen it so many times and brings a tear to my eyes every time. The cinematography is just amazing. The soundtrack is goated. Best movie ever made

Mel Braveheart helped me get back in touch with my fighting spirit and my connections with Wallace - Bruce - & Scotland. I even met the great music composer James Horner before Braveheart was in the movies. That was a huge loss! I thank you a million x for making Braveheart.
