    Imagine protesting against a pipeline thinking you're saving the environment but you're actually helping American billionaires make even more money.

      We have the refineries now, refining uncivilized Arabian oil. The problem is no eastern pipelines so they can use Canadian oil, not Arabian oil. We can be energy independent and still export major quantities of oil except there are no export facilities.

    In hindsight the only real chance Alberta had was Keystone. Now the world oil order has fundamentally changed because of the Permian Basin. America is a net exporter of oil for the first time in history. Not only is America now a competitor but the relative high cost of production of tar sands oil makes it far less marketable. New pipelines or not the viability of tar sands oil is questionable. The only options left are selling to Asian refineries that can handle heavy crude and or ship to Canadian refineries in the east in which case these will have to be rebuilt to handle the heavy crude.
    Bottom line. It's over
    Politicians need to stop telling lies and will do what they've always done, spend tax dollars to appease voters.
    Whether it's Bombardier or Tar Sands, it's all good money down the toilet.

    Alberta has only one buyer of oil, the US. There are US billionaires that have vested interest in cornering the oil sands market for themselves and buy it the cheapest in the world. We are talking about billions here. That money should be for Canadians, but we are being screwed big time by paid ENGOs to block our Asian market access.

    The direction Canada is going is not good, yes we need to take care of the environment, but considering that no one in the western world wants to live like the stone ages, this will be a technological challenge, and developing these technologies takes capital. As our present Federal Government digs Canada deeper in debt and hampers Canadian industry, the issue of capital becomes dire. Look at the many poor countries that have very poor environmental records, and the people become indifferent to future needs when they are just trying to survive on a day to day basis. As Canadians, we need to be smarter than we have been and situate ourselves in a financial position where we have options for the future. It's so easy for Trudeau to hack away at Canadian industry, he is a very wealthy man and his own idealistic strategies will not affect him in the least, nor his children. He can fly where ever he wants and take vacations in nice places. The rest of us have so much less lifestyle choices and in the end we need to do what we need to do to survive, to keep our homes, to feed our families. We have seen the middle class eroded and this is not good for the environment in the long game.

    We are not stuck. We don’t need pipelines. WHAT WE NEED IS SOME REFINED PRODUCT. MORE REFINERIES MEANS WE WILL MAKE MORE MONEY ON REFINED OIL. WIN WIN.

    • @rayeason5058
      @rayeason5058 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The first priority is for Alberta to have pipelines to access world markets. In terms of refineries, there are 5 in western Canada, but I, at this time, do not know what they refine.

    • @donville72
      @donville72 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Merl Bartley we already send oil to the west coast. Do you not know that? The trans mountain is already up and running. They only want to build a sister line beside it. That’s it. Only to send MORE oil to the west coast. But once we separate we will not need the second pipeline because we dont need to sell as much so fast. We will only be feeding the western side of this country.

    • @donville72
      @donville72 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Walt Digbee we already have pipelines to the west coast. The trans mountain is only a sister line to the one that is already in the ground.

    Plus through Fracking in the Dakotas has more lighter crude available and is in the USA.
