I liked this video simply because you were so transparent about how little a toddlers attention span is, so many TH-cam videos make it seem as though something is wrong if you can’t sit your toddler down for an hour a day reading and learning. I like many FTM get sucked into these unrealistic expectations of what it should be, when in reality they edited out all the times the child lost interest. It took me a while to get out of that train of thought and use common sense and realize that I have a toddler and toddlers can’t and won’t sit still to look at flash cards for an hour.

Really helpful video. My son is 15months also and this little boy seems much more advanced my son. My son babbles and makes noises constantly but doesn't say any words and doesn't imitate at all. He's very social though. I will try a lot of these although I doubt I'd get as much success !!
My son is 22 months and hardly says anything. I have 3 girls who spoke in small sentences when they turned 2. I’m trying not to compare but I’m also trying not to miss the cues of any problem. I know he can hear. I taught him “hi Dad” at 7 months and then nothing from there.. And the very few words he says (Mama, car, bus, stop) are clear. The rest is complete gibberish. He has no interest in imitating me. I’m debating about going to the doctor. ?

I really like all the different activities that you show. I really appreciate you putting this out here for parents. What I don't understand is why the therapist uses more slurred "baby talk" at times. Using words correctly with good diction seems like it would teach correct language and pronunciation better. What are your thoughts on that?
Hi! Thanks for watching. Baby talk is a way of engaging the child with a sing-song voice. As child ages and becomes more verbal, the therapist will adjust how she talks to the child.

How old was the baby in this vid when it was recorded? My currently 29month old is a bit slow in speech im thinking maybe because of biligualism but he does love throwing ball back and forth. Easily loses interest tho and finds new things to do. His favorite is watching things soin. Fans, dryer etc. Loves clicking on every little buttons and switches that has cause and effect i.e lights household items that makes noise, air purifier, u name it. Has a hard time sitting down and wait for me to read him something, he rather goes for the book himself and flips the pages and dont usually let me read to him. He makes it clear to me he wants to go downstairs to see the dryer/washer by making sound they produce and pulling my hands. Hes obsessed with it. But once it satisfy, he will without fuss follow me back upstairs for other things. Help
I know what you mean. Depends on the client's age and temperament I suppose but try to have all the other activities put out of reach or in a bin that they need help opening so they can't just grab it.

Hi My 2 year old son didn’t talk yet he is suffering from speech delay and hearing issue also in other activities he is very active and try to copy every activity but can’t speak. He try to speak and wants to express his feeling trough speak but didn’t convey proper words. Sometime he said mama baba repeatedly but i recognize he didn’t even know who’s exactly mama he can’t express his word with relationship. Kindly tell me in which way i teach him. Because i concerned him with different ENT specialists audiologist and also take a bear-a test but didn’t found exact problem their message is just to give him a speech therapy at home and try to communicate with him.

Maybe you could encourage them to practice using some theatre singing warm ups. Those focus a lot on annunciation and are super fun to sing with kids because they're so whacky. I hope that's helpful!

Yes, would be nice. The lil one in this video engages very easily. Would love to see how to get more difficult ones engaged...would help a lot
So helpful! Not everyone knows how to have intentional, educational play with their little one and for some of us whose babies begin to struggle this is perfect! My little guy is 13 months and just beginning physical therapy and feeding therapy, but speech seems to be his strong point. I'm trying to integrate songs with movement into his daily exercises to help get those gross motor skills going!
Yes! That will be great! Keep up with hard work!
I never heard of feeding thearpy
@AbdulRahman-lv5pj where can I purchase them from
@@yazminrodriguezrodriguezdi3676 I had never heard of it either until my son needed it. It was such an amazing thing. Took about fourteen months of work, but he was eating anything by the end of that fourteen months.
Thank you for this video! My son is a first born who's 19 months old and the only words he can say is Dada, Nana. I will surely use these tactics on him.
Wonderful! Glad to hear that Divine! I have tons of free videos on my youtube to help with a few small things but if you are looking for a step-by-step guide on exactly what to do then look into my online course for parents called "How to Teach a Toddler to Talk." school.walkietalkiespeechtherapy.com/

How is he doing
Does him talking now
Hi Divine! I was just wondering if you tried the course and if it worked? I hope all is well!
thank you for sharing the video and information! we have been working with a speech therapist, for our youngest kiddo, for about a month and a half. Our sessions are about 30mins long, and very similar in content to what we found in your video. I am actively looking for more information and confirmation that we are doing the best we can to encourage and support our little one. Videos like yours are extremely helpful to people like us!
You are welcome!
Thank you for this video! Extremely helpful!!
I have started following this video n it seems to b helpful
Very helpful!!! Thank you :)
Really helpful video. My son is 15months also and this little boy seems much more advanced my son. My son babbles and makes noises constantly but doesn't say any words and doesn't imitate at all. He's very social though. I will try a lot of these although I doubt I'd get as much success !!
Hi there! Thanks for the comment. Check out this video which describes normal vocabulary development. th-cam.com/video/24SxVoZAnBc/w-d-xo.html
@@CouponStar sounds like my son. Curious about update on your son? Has it picked up?

I tried this with my 15 month old twins today. Ms. Kayla definitely makes this look much easier than it was for me. My boys were not interested with playing with the toys the appropriate way at all and I when I tried to redirect them... 😭😤😭 they were not happy. I will definitely keep trying.
@@natashanolly9489 I know this comment is old but this made me feel a million times better. I was sitting here in tears just so frustrated and worried thinking omg he's not doing anything that child in the video is. Thank you for sharing💓

My wife and I are in the same boat. Hoping to start speech therapy sooner than later. This video is very helpful.
Thank you for this helpful video. 💕
You are so welcome!
It said “sometimes when language is behind other skills are ahead” wow I really felt that. My 18 month old started walking at 9 months, and he kicks the soccer ball too good for his age with great foot control and everything. But is barely talking. Trying to find as many tips as possible to help his transition
Meeeeee too!
My son can put similar shapes together and colors. Can put shapes in their holes and knows where his body parts are, starting walking at 10 months and physical is soo advanced but does not talk 😔
I couldn't watch this without a huge smile on my face and screaming everytime he got it right💕💕💕 he was amazing!

What happened to the kid eventually? what was his progression from there? Sweet kid.
I have no idea but it looks clear to me he looks totally normal in the video.
My 2.5 year old, still can't speak. We are going to take him to a therapist. He does make sounds, and says letter of the alphabets (not so clearly) but still audible. He says 1,2 but not beyond that. This video really helped. Going to take him to a therapist.
Cloud Walker my son is 2.5 and also doesn’t speak yet, not even mama and dada. He sings some of the abc’s but that’s all. Going to get him into speech therapy this month, good luck!
@@jasminemoursel Me too. Same issue. Mama is one word he says properly and some ABC and 123. All the best. I have got an appointment for next week and hope things work out for us

how are you my friends
Thanks. This video is very helpful for my child who has a speech delay.
Glad it was helpful!
This is so awesome! What if the child is bilingual? Do you say the words in each language or whichever word is easiest? I feel like I'm confusing him. 😭😭😭
@Demian ALIKA What herbs are you talking about?
I really like all the different activities that you show. I really appreciate you putting this out here for parents. What I don't understand is why the therapist uses more slurred "baby talk" at times. Using words correctly with good diction seems like it would teach correct language and pronunciation better. What are your thoughts on that?
Hi! Thanks for watching. Baby talk is a way of engaging the child with a sing-song voice. As child ages and becomes more verbal, the therapist will adjust how she talks to the child.
This is such a great video to show special educators and therapists how to coach parents. But the sound quality is poor. Any way to fix this?
This bub is so cute, mine is only 21 months but I already miss him being this size
Very impressive!
Thank you! Cheers!

Thank you so much. We can’t afford therapy and are trying so hard to create a way to help our toddler (just about two)
This video is really clear. We appreciate we greatly
My 2 year old will only say da dada and daddy, he mumbles a ton and acts like he’s saying a lot but words don’t come out, he is very smart and knows what I mean when I say things like no, stop it, yes, bring something here, share. He understands all of that just his speech is delayed and now it’s really starting to worry me. I repeat the same words over and over like mama and sissy but he never repeats me!
Hi, there I am sorry to hear you are worried, definitely speak with your child's pediatrician about your concerns. Here is a video on speech delay th-cam.com/video/jXRe7XZZqeQ/w-d-xo.html I hope this helps.
Can you do an overview video of your activity box of the contents. I am an E.C.E and a SAHM and homeschooling mom of 4. I am just interested in the contents to make sure there isn’t any ideas I am forgetting to add to my activity box for my youngest. My second oldest - 12 had a stroke in utero and is delayed in speech and has hemi CP and epilepsy and we work on speech on a consistent basis and I have noticed my youngest who just turned two is also behind in speech and I am working with him as well on speech therapy. Thank you for all your helpful videos and teachings. You are appreciated more than you will ever know. Much love.

Very nice videos I have ever seen for speech therapy. I helped my child to learn go. Thank you. Can I follow this for my 19 months old baby? How much time per activity is expected for the 19 months baby?
Hi Karthika, YES you can work with your 19 month old baby, they should speak about 50 words by 18months. I have tons of free videos on my youtube to help with a few small things but if you are looking for a step-by-step guide on exactly what to do then look into my online course for parents called "How to Teach a Toddler to Talk." school.walkietalkiespeechtherapy.com/
Help
Just curious, is this applicable and work for 2 y old boy with speech delay? hopefully its never too late
Hi yes! Here's my step by step guide perfect for that age school.walkietalkiespeechtherapy.com/
What advice do you have for a client who never wants to finish a task before starting a new task?
I know what you mean. Depends on the client's age and temperament I suppose but try to have all the other activities put out of reach or in a bin that they need help opening so they can't just grab it.
I can’t wait to try this with my son. He is 18 months and can only say hot. Does not say hello, bye, mama or dada etc. I hope this helps him 🥺
Let me know how it goes!
My son is the same
How is he now with speech , b cz my son is same age now and just say peak a boo
My two year old daughter is still non verbal, and she has autism. I cant work and have therapy sessions so i need yo find a way to do it myself
Mon son is 26 months and he does not speak at all. After trying this one, he was started to copying the 1,2,3 on his finger and the round n round. Will try again tmr to see if he can start spelling a single word. Thank you sooo much!

Nachiketa Rout Thank you, that’s encouraging!
I found this helpful. My 19month old only says Dada and occassionally mom, but I can't get him to say any other words. He understands what we say and when he wants something he tries to pull us by the hand but still won't speak. I have even tried to teach him signs but when I do this he cries or tries to hug me instead. Are there any other tricks I can use to help him get talking?
NeenaJ M Hi! Sounds like you are doing a great job trying! I have tons of videos to help! Keep up with those...otherwise pursue speech therapy and try to get him socialized with other kids who are talking.
This is exactly what my 21 months old son is doing currently. I know this is an old post, how is your son doing after 2 years? I'm just looking for some hope
@@angelbarbie7528 Hi how is your son doing?
Hi
My 2 year old son didn’t talk yet he is suffering from speech delay and hearing issue also in other activities he is very active and try to copy every activity but can’t speak.

I really like the way how you interact with the kids. I have notice my little one 4.5years have some issues with some words like L, S D words. What exercise I should plan for her to practice? I have been going to speech therapy but I didn’t really like it , and I don’t see that much of improvement. Do you any good speech therapy in Sydney? Thanks
Hi no sorry I don’t know anyone in Sydney. Maybe try a new person
Maybe you could encourage them to practice using some theatre singing warm ups. Those focus a lot on annunciation and are super fun to sing with kids because they're so whacky. I hope that's helpful!
My son is 30 months old,still can't talke😢😢😢
What do you do when they take more than one and start bawling ? Take it away and retry ?
My son is 16 and half months only says the word gone when he's finished food once said hello with a toy phone to his ear and can follow instructions like "where's your drink" he will search the room and find it. But concerned about his lack of speech at the moment, babbles a lot and trying these things, how long do you think it would take for him to start saying more following these steps? Can't really see anyone as from the UK and in a full lockdown
