Hey. Bro just a quick question how does your manual gear works and the car is stopped It happens at 4:50 i have a nissan altima but it will turn back to normal drive mode below 10KM/H
The way it works with my Altima is if you press the sport button on gear shift first then tap the paddle manual mode will stay engaged even while stopped… however just pressing the paddles without sport mode being engaged it will go back to normal when stopped.
I own a 2016 Altima SR with paddle shifters too. I wonder sometimes if using them more frequently will help to extend the life of our CVT's? The one thing I do hate about about the Altima gear box though is that you can turn off the motor without having to put your car into park. My Mazsa 6 Sport was also the same way.
I honestly go off of engine sound… if you’ve ever driven a stick before you can hear and feel when it needs to be shift. I also studied the normal drive mode simulated shift points that way you can play around and learn it for the manual simulation mode. However, if you are full throttle it will shift on its own but power shift it at 6krpm. If you want it to sound like a manual from first gear go all the way up to 4k let off gas then shift and pretty much do the same with each gear. Once you get the feel of it you will know when you’ve found the sweet spot.
I build transmissions for a living and I also own a 2020 Altima. It’s just changing the ratio of the pulley. These “gears” are preset ratios that you can choose from, when you change “gears” It simply moves to a different ratio. It does allow you to utilize the cars full rev range in this preset ratio and kinda simulates gear changes, but It’s honestly more of a gimmick than anything and pretty much defeats the purpose of the CVT. It’s kinda cool to mess with, but you more than likely will never use it. It’s still a 188hp car with a CVT, these aren’t designed to even be slightly fast
Bro i have altima 2020 too but i have no idea yet how to drive with paddle shift. Could you please make another video explaining what happens when we press down shifter on a normal driving mode and can we go higher gear on normal mode and when on sport mode when to up shift on gears
I cant up shift for some reason when i go sport mode when switching from normal mode, i can only downshift but when the car is at still, i can up shift that time. And one more thing as you showed in video that if we press up shift on a normal driving mode we can see our which gear are we in, it doesnt work on mine what works is downshift when on a normal mode which is also pretty different from sport mode
