But what I loved about this video the most is that you basically stated my own opinion about the game right on... the story may have a lot to be desired, but the gameplay is well worth the time for any Halo fan :-)

Dont forget that the missions play differently because after the updates the covenant mission are harder but the promethean ones got easier. BY THE WAY the update changed the difficulty for some missions!
i have to admit i love the mobility in halo 5. it feels more like the master chief in the books rather than the slow immobile master chief of halo 1 through 3. (even though those are much better games)

Not only is the range of your weapon vastly increased, but the accuracy as well with ADS and smart-scope. Basically going around with an SMG fucking sniping fools. Oh and if that was too easy then you also get the fact that if you run out of health YOU DON'T DIE, your invincible teammates revive you.
Your point about the gameplay versus the story is my general opinion of the game. Halo 5 is my very favorite game in terms of gameplay. Seriously I love it! However it lacks some certain X factor that made the older halos so iconic and addictive. A lot of it came from the mysterious and heroic vibe that the campaign lent to the entirety of the game. In my opinion that’s the real reason that the newer halos don’t hold up to the older ones. Just my two cents

Also, if you find someone with a physical copy of Halo 5 and play offline, you shouldn't have to worry about the update at all and you should be able to play the base game and beat the record. I don't even run for records and I know this stuff, it's what people did for Halo 2 when the lunge thing got patched. That being said, it's unbeatable because no one wants to play that garbage. . . I honestly liked Halo 5's story. At least I didnt had to force myself through it like I had with Halo 1 -3. Hell Halo3 ODST, which was more meant to test out Firefight had me at the tip of chair, but no moment in Halo 1-3 could do that. To be honest, Reach’s was kinda the same way. A story that wasn’t so good but had great gameplay. I always say that if the gameplay is good, than the game is good. Personally the reason I stopped playing H5 was because 343i kept removing all of my favorite playlists.

A third or so of the community flat out didn't buy the game, after being pissed at the beta, most of the competitive community moved back to halo 3. That caused a rift between the competitive playerbase and the pro-scene, because the pros did move to reach because of sponsors. MLG eventually dropped Halo as a whole. Now, I can recognize that reach wasn't a bad game, and that lots of people enjoyed it, particularly those who hadn't played the previous games. But I'm a competitive player and obviously wasn't thrilled with the casual gameplay, broken armour abilities and RNG reticle blom. That and the lack of proper ranked playlists really made me as salty as the dead sea.
I did the campaign solo legendary but it took me like 5 days. I think my in game time is like 10 hours or so. Depressing but worth the cut scene I could’ve seen on TH-cam 😂😂

The campaign being good even after balancing is a bit if a stretch. The gameplay may have been greatly improved (making it so enemies can't snipe you from across the map with automatic weapons) but the story stays below average.
Im surprised how many glitches there are that allow you to go through walls/over large area's. I stopped playing halo at halo 4 and back then 343 was extremely strict on anything like getting out the map.
I'm calling it now: Halo dice is the only Halo game that adds a word odor to your Xbox when you download it. I'm serious. This happened to me. The Xbox hated so much the disc was burned in side the slot.
You know you can still play the halo 5 campaign unmodified offline you just need to reinstall the game then prevent it from updating automatically by disconnecting the internet.
I don't like speedruns where you cheat your way through the game via exploits and what ever. I always play the games like they are intended, clearing every area of enemies before moving on.
Only noobs will do this shit. I play halo 5 late 2018 with update and every things and I still beat it solo on legendary in 4 days without skipping check point.
i dont like the precedent set by unlimited remote updates after release. it makes it so you never know if the version of a game you are playing is what it will remain, great for bug fixes, terrible for a sense of propriety with what games i own, since i never know exactly what i own..
The un-updated campaign should be counted differently to the updated one. If older games do it even by region then such big changes should make it a new score board.

Damn! So unfortunately the Halo 5's Campaign is so fucking awesome but the story is not good! That's so sad :(
Im surprised how many glitches there are that allow you to go through walls/over large area's. I stopped playing halo at halo 4 and back then 343 was extremely strict on anything like getting out the map.
I'm calling it now: Halo dice is the only Halo game that adds a word odor to your Xbox when you download it. I'm serious. This happened to me. The Xbox hated so much the disc was burned in side the slot.
I have the limited edition, which is a *physical case* that came with A DOWNLOAD CODE, so fuck me I guess.
You know you can still play the halo 5 campaign unmodified offline you just need to reinstall the game then prevent it from updating automatically by disconnecting the internet.
I don't like speedruns where you cheat your way through the game via exploits and what ever. I always play the games like they are intended, clearing every area of enemies before moving on.
I hate the idea of updating campaigns. Leave it as is.

Only noobs will do this shit. I play halo 5 late 2018 with update and every things and I still beat it solo on legendary in 4 days without skipping check point.
My opinion Halo 4 is 10 times as better than this game also I’m a bit bias too halo 4
i dont like the precedent set by unlimited remote updates after release. it makes it so you never know if the version of a game you are playing is what it will remain, great for bug fixes, terrible for a sense of propriety with what games i own, since i never know exactly what i own..
The un-updated campaign should be counted differently to the updated one. If older games do it even by region then such big changes should make it a new score board.
I honestly enjoyed halo 5s campaign on my 2nd play through on heroic difficulty
