I want Playable Elites to come back, it was so fun to play as one just for the heck of it, Though I want their design to be like H2 Anniversary and Wars 2, I hope they pick that art style for the next Halo
The ascetic armor was my favorite in Halo 3 but it pissed me off to no end since i actually did the challenge twice and never got it, the first time i made the kills within a second of the deadline, which i guess could have been a small mistake in my timing but the SECOND time i did it i killed 4 guys within the space of 2 seconds since they were all bunched up and still never got the steppin razor achievement.
Personally I feel like playable elites, even if they're bigger or whatever, should absolutely still be a thing, primarily because it would be a choice. If you wanna be a cool, badass elite, you pay the price of a bigger hitbox, whatever, doesn't matter. If they wanted to balance it, maybe give them some kind of advantage, but not one that's significant, nothing like more health or gun damage, if there's any advantage you wanted to give Elites for their bigger size, I'd say either more melee damage (they're huge, if they punch you, it should hurt more) but not enough to one shot, but enough that you could do less damage than a Spartan would have to to finish them off with a melee. More melee range (definitely helpful with energy swords and whatnot) or a speed boost (Elites are hella fast in game, like goddamn they move real fast, it could translate somewhat)
maybe they can make elites a bit smaller in the multplayer if you have ever played gears of war for example 3 there is a character in the campaign who is like really tall taller than the average human but they still added him to the multiplayer i think bungie should do the same

Idk why you think halo 5 having 200 plus armour variants is a good thing. 75 percent of the stuff are duplicates and there is even armour that is identical to one another in design. (ex: soldier/Scanner) halo 5 has some of the worst customization in all of halo. At least halo 3, 4 and reach have individual armour customization.

Dude, I honestly would've loved playing as an Elite in the newer games, I hope they bring them back in Halo Infinite. Elites were my thing back then, I loved playing as one and it was always fun being that one person who has an alien for a character while everyone else had Spartans. I also really wanted to play as a Jackal too but I imagine they'd probably be too much of a pain in the ass to even shoot at because they already are, though it still would've been fun to run around as a Skirmisher, lol.

I thought it could've fixed all the problems 4 had, not make them worse. Sure, it has better multiplayer, but it also has the worst Halo campaign I have ever played. If anything, it made me doubt my love for the Halo series because it was so incredibly mediocre; and that's a love that has been going on since my childhood. Even the multiplayer, at first, didn't even feature infection and that is a crowd favourite. The fact that co-op was completely removed only added more salt to the wound for many fans, myself included. Couch co-op is one of the biggest draws of Halo and to see it removed is piss poor. What else was 343i bloody focusing on, besides snorting cocaine?

Tbh I think making playable Elites is easier than you’d think. You could, for all intents and purposes, make being a playable Elite akin to putting on a “Type B” armor customization; you can’t have Type A armor with the Type B armor, because the hitboxes change with the “armor pieces.” As for the animations, you could lazily just put the skeleton over the spartan’s model for the same animations and do a light tweak to make sure that the legs, posture and everything else match and don’t pull a Giraffe Man from BF3 or Speghettifying. Other animations like reloading, using vehicles, running, walking, standing, etc. can be recycled from the AI’s animations.
An elites version of the spartan charge could be a wrist blade lunge, as seen in assassinations in Reach. It would make sense, the elites gave a crazy fast dodge that could be inplemented as a wrist blade swipe or lunge.
343 doesnt understands that people dont want absolute balance when it comes to playeable elites, you know that if everyone playing as an elite would automatically die 30 seconds after spawning, people would still play them

The thing that sucked about reach's progression was just how many hours it took to get to the upper ranks. Max rank was unobtainable aside from a select few who could spend all day playing.
I'd pay for a DLC for playable elites and i'd even buy a full priced expansion if it had Arbiter missions again. Probably my favorite moments i nteh halo series were the Arbiter missions, especially when he teamed up with John :3
Inginite seems like the perfect time to reintroduce playable elites. Cortana messed everything up, and it would make sense that some elites got stuck with humans, and some humans get stuck with elites, and they get to train with eachother, becoming real bros with eachother.

I don't understand how the Halo 4&5 (storm) elites are a subspecies of the traditional elites when even the arbiter who was a traditional elite changed to the storm design anatomy-wise in Halo 5. In the original animated video showing the new arbiter he had the traditional design in his anatomy but in Halo 5 he has the storm elite anatomy which was reflected in the new arbiter figure by jakks Pacific. 343 needs to explain

There is also the fact that they've made the multiplayer an in lore event that takes place within a simulator that the spartans plug themselves into and fight within a digital environment for training purposes. The problem is that this requires an invasive connection between the computers, and the spartans. which takes advantage of the neural port that the spartans already have just to use their armor. The sangheili wouldn't allow this. Having an implant invasively connected to them would be unthinkable to them. As a result, they won't join the spartans inside of the digital training environment for the multiplayer.
Personally the Reach rt style was the best. Have to say, The Ultra in Reach looked pretty badasss, favorite DElite Ultra design. The Ranger class in Reach also looked cool and menacing, unlike the fishbowls that the 343 versions wear. Never got why the ranger class needed a redesigned helmet.
They could make the elites have larger hitboxes and have unlockable armour for both spartans and elites for different challenges completed as an elite. Win so many games. Play for so long in online games. Get so many kills etc
They should add a feature so that elites and humans have normal hit boxes like in the campaign but in online matches everybody will either be an elite or a spartan :)
Remember how they tried to canonize halo 4 multiplayer saying it was a spartan simulation in the infinity😑 and was the aspect of why no elites... Well i think 343 should remember to let multiplayer be fun, and less canon based like a star wars game😑 Look at halo wars 2, they brought back forge, johnson, the arbiter, and other characters that should be dead. Yeah.... I don’t remember it that way. I didn’t have internet so I got next to nothing for story mode missions that should have had you netting enough to do things.
Here's what I remember playing locally with my friends. Anyone playing elites in one of the early games, 2 maybe, felt like a gimme. They were kinda hunched over a bit, which had the effect of making the head a bigger target if you faced them head-on. Of course, the head didn't literally take up the whole chest, but it sure felt like it sometimes. Just aiming generally centre-of-mass gave a lot of quick-turn no-scopes back in the day.

I don't favor the new art style of the elites, but being one is still cool. Just the idea of stabbing some spartans with an assassination animation as an Elite is always cool. I think that If they did add playable elites with realistic hitboxes that are bigger than a spartan's, they maybe could give elites something small to balance it out, for example different and faster assassinations, maybe faster hitspeed with The energysword, a very tiny bit more health/shield or smaller cooldown with covenant non-clipped weapons.
Abput the animating thing, Theu do already have animated high quality models for the elite. All they really need is a viewmodel and a texture which can have the color changed
I used the ascetic armour all the times too, one of the most badass by far! Wish you could fight them at one point in the game in some kind of mystic old temple.
maybe elites lose some human powers (like jetpack) but have more hp and their head hit box is where their head IS while their back neck still counts as normal damage. might need some tinkering but i think it would be cool.
I started playing Halo because of the Elites. I always thought they were the coolest alien species every, in large part because they were intrinsically unique. Plus, their culture and relation to the Covenant is fascinating. I remember the hundreds of hours I spent playing as the Arbiter while my older brother played as the Chief. #BringMuhBoisBackPls
I think playing as a brute would be awesome. A grunt would be dope, but wouldn't work too well in multiplayer. Maybe have a "special" game mode just for grunts? But that would take a lot of extra time and work.
Elites and spartans are most similar in combat style and are deadliest on both sides; the UNSC and the Covenant. Brutes seem cool and grunts as well, but it would be harder to implement for players and would be out of nowhere for 343. It is a great idea, but the idea is a little off; especially in newer Halo games.
Easier to hit, but they should add a mode where it's Elites v. Elites. Like a "Retaliation" mode or something, like Elites being called Heretics and leaving the Covenant with a bang. I would play it.
Stop making excuses for 343, they're video game developers "oh the hitbox would be different" "there's glitches" "they won't work competitive". It's their fucking job to make it work, despite how hard or easy it is.

Adam Speiser only good thing about halo 3 was custom games. The campaign was bland and didn't introduce nothing new outside of equipment. The multiplayer was water down halo 2(halo 2 multiplayer was so good it had its own tv show). Halo 3 I only enjoyed cause of custom games other than that it was way too easy to get good. The skill game sucked ass compared to halo 2 but then reach brought that right on back. Rank meant ALOT kinda like tekken
The ascetic helmet was unlocked by a triple kill with a sword on free for all, the overkill achievement on free for all is for the commando (: I personally dont like the reach OR 343s elites. I hate what 343 did to the elites, they are brutish and gross. Halo CE and Halo 2 had the best elites. They were noble, slim, agile, intelligent, and just the best in every way, really.

Tbh I think making playable Elites is easier than you’d think.
You could, for all intents and purposes, make being a playable Elite akin to putting on a “Type B” armor customization; you can’t have Type A armor with the Type B armor, because the hitboxes change with the “armor pieces.”
As for the animations, you could lazily just put the skeleton over the spartan’s model for the same animations and do a light tweak to make sure that the legs, posture and everything else match and don’t pull a Giraffe Man from BF3 or Speghettifying.
Other animations like reloading, using vehicles, running, walking, standing, etc. can be recycled from the AI’s animations.
Being an elite puts you in a disadvantage, which make you badass. Better than a stupid guy in armour.

An elites version of the spartan charge could be a wrist blade lunge, as seen in assassinations in Reach. It would make sense, the elites gave a crazy fast dodge that could be inplemented as a wrist blade swipe or lunge.
343 doesnt understands that people dont want absolute balance when it comes to playeable elites, you know that if everyone playing as an elite would automatically die 30 seconds after spawning, people would still play them
To balance the hitbox differences they could probably have more health. Y'know, like an RPG species selection with buffs and debuffs

In Halo 2, the elites had a bigger hitbox but they couldn't be hit in the head from behind. That's how it was balanced.
The thing that sucked about reach's progression was just how many hours it took to get to the upper ranks. Max rank was unobtainable aside from a select few who could spend all day playing.

I'd pay for a DLC for playable elites and i'd even buy a full priced expansion if it had Arbiter missions again. Probably my favorite moments i nteh halo series were the Arbiter missions, especially when he teamed up with John :3
Inginite seems like the perfect time to reintroduce playable elites. Cortana messed everything up, and it would make sense that some elites got stuck with humans, and some humans get stuck with elites, and they get to train with eachother, becoming real bros with eachother.
If they do comeback, please for the love of god bring the Halo Wars 2 elites. They are just so badass lookin and sleek, everything an elite should be.

I don't understand how the Halo 4&5 (storm) elites are a subspecies of the traditional elites when even the arbiter who was a traditional elite changed to the storm design anatomy-wise in Halo 5. In the original animated video showing the new arbiter he had the traditional design in his anatomy but in Halo 5 he has the storm elite anatomy which was reflected in the new arbiter figure by jakks Pacific. 343 needs to explain

There is also the fact that they've made the multiplayer an in lore event that takes place within a simulator that the spartans plug themselves into and fight within a digital environment for training purposes.
The problem is that this requires an invasive connection between the computers, and the spartans. which takes advantage of the neural port that the spartans already have just to use their armor. The sangheili wouldn't allow this. Having an implant invasively connected to them would be unthinkable to them. As a result, they won't join the spartans inside of the digital training environment for the multiplayer.

Personally the Reach rt style was the best. Have to say, The Ultra in Reach looked pretty badasss, favorite DElite Ultra design. The Ranger class in Reach also looked cool and menacing, unlike the fishbowls that the 343 versions wear. Never got why the ranger class needed a redesigned helmet.

You see, It is easy for 343 to do, it just isn’t their priority. Its rather depressing though, as games that are 10-15 years old had more content and better customisation then the “new” games

Elites were balanced through shields in reach I believe. I think since elites were bigger they had faster recharging shields

Here's what I remember playing locally with my friends. Anyone playing elites in one of the early games, 2 maybe, felt like a gimme. They were kinda hunched over a bit, which had the effect of making the head a bigger target if you faced them head-on.
Of course, the head didn't literally take up the whole chest, but it sure felt like it sometimes.
Just aiming generally centre-of-mass gave a lot of quick-turn no-scopes back in the day.
Okay then they should press the secret button for classic gameplay and classic art style so they unlock the option for the button of playable elites

I don't favor the new art style of the elites, but being one is still cool. Just the idea of stabbing some spartans with an assassination animation as an Elite is always cool. I think that If they did add playable elites with realistic hitboxes that are bigger than a spartan's, they maybe could give elites something small to balance it out, for example different and faster assassinations, maybe faster hitspeed with The energysword, a very tiny bit more health/shield or smaller cooldown with covenant non-clipped weapons.
Abput the animating thing, Theu do already have animated high quality models for the elite. All they really need is a viewmodel and a texture which can have the color changed

I started playing Halo because of the Elites. I always thought they were the coolest alien species every, in large part because they were intrinsically unique. Plus, their culture and relation to the Covenant is fascinating. I remember the hundreds of hours I spent playing as the Arbiter while my older brother played as the Chief. #BringMuhBoisBackPls

I think playing as a brute would be awesome. A grunt would be dope, but wouldn't work too well in multiplayer. Maybe have a "special" game mode just for grunts? But that would take a lot of extra time and work.
Elites and spartans are most similar in combat style and are deadliest on both sides; the UNSC and the Covenant. Brutes seem cool and grunts as well, but it would be harder to implement for players and would be out of nowhere for 343. It is a great idea, but the idea is a little off; especially in newer Halo games.
Easier to hit, but they should add a mode where it's Elites v. Elites. Like a "Retaliation" mode or something, like Elites being called Heretics and leaving the Covenant with a bang. I would play it.
Stop making excuses for 343, they're video game developers "oh the hitbox would be different" "there's glitches" "they won't work competitive". It's their fucking job to make it work, despite how hard or easy it is.
I mean they do make the hitbox sizes. The only problem would be fair in consideration of their models, but they did it in halo 3. They must be able to do it again.

Daniel Calix they definitely do it's just what they do isn't what we like. They remastered 2 of the greatest halo games to near perfection and I have to respect them. Adam Speiser only good thing about halo 3 was custom games. The campaign was bland and didn't introduce nothing new outside of equipment. The multiplayer was water down halo 2(halo 2 multiplayer was so good it had its own tv show). Halo 3 I only enjoyed cause of custom games other than that it was way too easy to get good. The skill game sucked ass compared to halo 2 but then reach brought that right on back. Rank meant ALOT kinda like tekken

I personally dont like the reach OR 343s elites. I hate what 343 did to the elites, they are brutish and gross. Halo CE and Halo 2 had the best elites. They were noble, slim, agile, intelligent, and just the best in every way, really.
