I remember Halo Reach Firefight when I would get the highest ranking Elites in bonus round, on legendary, with the Mythic Skull. They could survive like 3 impacts from the air strike.
Reach's final mission also has a Field Marshall and double Zealot fight. Stickies, armor lock, fuel rod, energy sword, dual repeaters. It's like some sadistic strategy game.
Plus an Engineer you have to take out first. Eventually I just got lucky and got back melees on two of the elites on the first time doing reach legendary in years.
Me and one of my friends played through reach recently, and I absolutely can confirm. The elites are complete DICK BAGS. However, did make the game more fun working as a team to kill formidable opponents.
No they didnt. Energy weapons like plasma pistol and the repeater drained their shields in a few seconds or instantly, and one headshot killed them. Brute chieftains were the hard ones because they has shields and the helmets.
Elites riding Ghosts was just stupid hard when on foot. I'm glad I don't play Legendary difficulty, because I will kick the coffee table so hard I'll break my toes, then I'd have to rush myself down to the hospital since I'm the only one with a full drivers licence. ☠️
Although I am going through H2 on legendary again and those silver ones are a nightmare, you can stick them and put a clip of br and hey still don't die lol. thank god for noob combo
You know, you can actually have a pretty good canon reason for their combat performances. Reach was the covenants best, most experienced warriors so the hardest to fight. Halo 1 was the reserves of those forces so still experienced but not as much as the ones lost on Reach during the fighting. Halo 2's were the Prophets personal warriors so highly skilled but not the hardened, experienced soldiers the covenant had to expend on Reach. Halo 4 and 5 are the elite subspecies which did not see much combat in the war and are therefore the least experienced. As the war goes on the Elites become less threatening due to the Covenant sacrificing all the hardened, well trained, experienced soldiers during the war. Its probably just coincidence the difficulty worked out that way but it is a cool idea none the less.
Arbiters forces show be strong Since alot of them are x-covenant and still not happen that they don't have the old looking elites with them. and while not use arbiters H2A look instead of making a new model would of saved money.
It also ironically aligns with the fact that Reach was the last Halo game by Bungie, so they wanted to go out with a bang and perhaps make the best and most challenging Halo yet. The advances in animation and AI make this clear also, updating and improving the engine/graphics and gameplay.
Halo: Reach ledgendary just boils down to getting the DMR/Needle Rifle and taking out trash (grunts/jackals) from a long distance, then noob combo the elites. The unshielded brutes can be easily killed with the needle rifle, as it only takes three torso shots to supercombine them. Patience, lots of patience.
I think you MIGHT get 1 or 2 minors during the first engagement of ONI sword base based on random chance, but other than that I can't remember a single minor in all of Reach. The vast majority of Elties in Reach are Ultras and higher with the odd Major.
When I first played Winter Contingency, I was surprised by the behavior of the elites. The first time I took the shields off a golden elite, that motherfucker kicked me right in the face.
Yokobe Toboy Two words for ya, “mythic difficulty.” I don’t know how many people beat Reach with all skulls on, but I have. And it was NOT enjoyable by any stretch. Elites were literally only killable via assassination, and hunters were just plain immortal
When I played Halo Reach's legendary campaign with a friend for the first time, the one part where Elite's appear the first time on Winter Contingency, my friend just told me this: "Stay behind cover and run to the checkpoint."
David spazzy yup, the aggressiveness/agility made the fights so much more fun. Sangheilli are my fav species from the halo universe, was so glad they were truly deadly & not just cannon fodder
The Covenant in Reach were the best. The AI was amazing, the art design was fantastic and the weapons and sound effects were amazing for the Covenant. In future games the Covenant should be like they were in Reach.
It was the pinnacle of the design of Halo games (not the best Halo overall, but I thought the visual style was the best), and then 4 and 5 crapped all over what was established, removing the military aspect of the design and making it more strictly sci-fi. Looks like generic dogshite now
Neo Crusader Only the Ultra Elites and General Elites with Fuel Rods were pretty powerful. A good player can mostly avoid stuff like their powerful one hit melee and front kicks. The Brutes acted just like their supposed to and had a more tribal look to them. And what you said about the differ armor designs is completely silly. They looked the best in Reach because not only did the have distinct colors but also armor designs to tell them apart. Just look at the Skirmisher and Grunt ranks they too also had a really cool unique armor design alongside each unit color. Not only did that make the Elites look a lot cooler but it also made them very easy to recognize on the battlefield and in multiplayer it gave the player a variety of Elite armors to choose from. Even in Halo 3 there were different Elite armors with unique colors for the ranks. You sir on this one topic are an idiot. And in the minority. Most people really liked the Reach Elite armors and colors and hope to see them again in the future.
@@galacticocelestial650 Same, tbh. Reach was difficult, but decently balanced. Also the plasma/headshot combo worked pretty well. Brutes were much more difficult, because they were aggressive, had tons of armor, were difficult to headshot (to me at least, or more difficult than in Halo 2 and 3), and did tons of damage. Brutes with fuel rods in Reach were my Halo 2 Jackal snipers.
Yep I can say I also feel proud of myself for completing reach on legendary solo, but the final mission though... nearly had me throwing my controller against a wall on many occasions.
That game is second only to H2 for legendary difficulty IMHO. I am *extremely* proud to have beaten it on Legendary solo... *without* a noob combo. Not out of some elitism, just because I don't find it fun.
Luke TheNotable I stuck one with a plasma grenade. Not only did the elite live through the explosion, but also ran toward me with the grenade still on him, so I died and he survived.
for some reason when you use the concussion rifle it barely kills grunts, and then when they hit you with it it's like a one shot kill and it will flip your warthog into the air
Hi-Fi Stereo Seriously, I don't remember the Concussion Rifle(and the Grenade Launcher) sucking as much ass as they apparently do. I recently went back and beat the Reach campaign on Heroic and played some multiplayer, and those things are useless.
The Elites in Halo: Reach kicked my ass quite a lot. From my experience they were the most difficult to fight, aside from Halo 2 where chief is about as strong as tissue paper.
On legendary Chief is the second weakest thing in the game next to the flood spores. Even Grunts could take more damage than Chief. It was just awful bullshit design.
You're so right. I spent forever in Cairo Station adjusting to how the chief can go from fine to just flat out *gone* After that though I didn't really have any major problems
I think your list is pretty accurate ( i wouldn't know about halo 5 though i never played it). Seeing an elite in reach on legendary is almost heart stopping scary for me.
If you read the lore of the Halo universe, you learn how terrifying and deadly Sangheili are. It's a shame that it's only in Reach that the Elites actually live up to that reputation.
*mentions reach elites Literally everyone who's played Reach: *Reatnam flashback Edit number ???????: I literally cannot comprehend how my unfunny and lazily made comment has reached over 2k likes
The Vietnamese as in the group of human beings that identify as being from or native citizens of Vietnam? What did they do to you? You drink some bad snake wine in Hoi Chi Minh City?
I personally had a harder time killing elites in halo 2. But I agree on Reach. It took one hell of a time to finish the campaign on legendary, because of these high-rankeds...
Halo 2 elites aren't very aggressive or intelligent on Legendary. They generally back away and almost never follow you around a corner. Their only difficulty is the high DPS of the plasma rifle, which can kill you faster than CoD4 enemies on Veteran. Reach had the best AI of any Halo game and the elites on Legendary and Mythic are practically sentient.
Ny'kratmuhn Me'ru, I disagree reaches elites are stronger but their definitely not smarter, they have a scripted sword and melee attack and their aggresive pushes are far more predictable than halo 2 elites, the halo 2 elite back hit also shits on reaches, though I agree with the rest of the covenant ai except brutes, halo 2 has bullet sponges but reaches brutes are just bland gorillas who don't really having that berserking threat.
Tyler Ellis ya but halo reach elites had a tendency to rush you if you were hiding in cover, also they would get the “shudder” concussion rifle and spam that shit for days
Tyler Ellis All attack animations in Halo are "scripted," what matters is whether the AI is smart enough to know when to use them. I actually can't remember the last time I tried going close-quarters with a H2 (non-Heretic) elite on Legendary, though I think that speaks to the over-effectiveness of the noob combo in that game and the fact that they like to bunch together a little too much. It's also hard to get anywhere close to them as their plasma rifles will rip you apart faster than a Jackal sniper. But I doubt very much that their melee attacks are more dangerous than the one-hit jab or 180 pirouette kick of Reach elites, scripted or not. As for aggression, not only are Reach elites far more varied and agile in their manoeuvring (strafing and side-stepping while staying on-target instead of rolling) and have double the ground coverage without lowering their weapon, but they can throw their own grenade traps (at the speed of sound). I honestly can't remember being more impressed with enemy AI in a game since Reach came out, though I guess that's not saying much considering the field.
Ny'kratmuhn Me'ru, should have been more specific the reach through halo 5 elites have very stiff sword attacks and stance, while the halo 2 elite can swing anywhere and its back hit, even if your not near the elite will kill you plus 3 other enemies, I have yet to see an elite in any other game have a back hit that can kill five enemies around the elite, again the reach elites are stronger an example is that Bungie allows them to use grenades, only spec op and zealots in halo 2 can use them, also making the ai more aggressive isn't really smartness, it's just really a predictable strength. Now I'm not saying the reach Elites are shit, their the second best in the franchise and without a doubt the most op but they definitely lack that realistic reaction to situations and being attacked like halo 2 elites for me.
Beat Reach on Legendary in celebration of its release on MCC yesterday with a couple of friends, and man, did I underestimate how tough the elites are. Not surprised that I never managed to solo Legendary all those years ago.
FenP I did with my best friend. We suffered xD. Though our best moment was on the final mission, we took turns seeing who could jump off the cliff at the beginning and assassinate the elite below us.
Solo Legendary Reach was my best achievement mainly considering I never knew about the Noob combo so I just dragged myself through the dirt with nades, shotguns if they were available, the dmr, and most importantly, my assault rifle 😭😭took me like a solid week of non stop dying tho
Id swap reach and 2 like when an elites shields dont go down when you wack em in tge back thats when yah crap yourself other than that its perfect i remember playing through the game i smashed put 4 with ease 1 was nice reach gave me a challenge but halo 2 changed how i played the game
I got the "monument to all our sins" achievement when I was like 13 and I never knew about the noob combo...that would have saved me hours of pain and suffering...
It's pretty normal that the older games have much harder and unforgiving difficulties than the newer ones. I always thought of it as newer gen players being unable to handle such difficulty without quitting.
Not gonna lie, I didn't know about the noob combo and I never really thought of it but I still killed every elite on Halo Reach. I liked the fact that they were smart and dodged and had equipment, made it feel more realistic. Plus even just the way they build the elites up at the start in Halo Reach, they feel like monsters instead of punching bags.
in 343 games elites are like brutes slow and stupid, compared to the old trilogy where they were honorable, fast and actually had better one liners hah!
And the brutes are intelligent instead of being "Brutes" Guess someone on 343 though: "oh their names are extremely racist because they are big monkeys and they are less intelligent" we are going to make them smart on halo wars 2 just to prove how intelligent and tactical everyone can be"... Goddamn i hate 343 more than ever.
Zukulent Mike Brutes aren't their real name if you take that assumption. Their real name are the Jiralhanae. They weren't exactly intelligent, but they also weren't stupid. It's good to know 343 showed there are strength in Brutes. And not thinking they are all idiots like you.
yakovlev999 The elites in 343i games are rogue elites from Halo 4 or elites that still believe in the covenant. After it fell, enemies became less of what they are supposed to be, as said for the elites. In Halo 5, the Swords of Sanghelios fit into the honorable elites you mention.
Oh my gosh. I knew those Elite Bastards would be the hardest on Legendary on Halo Reach. I remember the mission Pillar of Autumn when it was just you, Emile, and at a few points several Marines, I would typically get Plasma Rifled by one of the Ultras, Generals, or even the Field Marshals.
Halo Reach elites were the strongest. The fact that they could rush/run towards you and punch you or kick you was scary to me, but I liked it because of that, and it was challenging. It would be nice if Halo Infinite's elite AI's would be like Reach's, but even better.
Reach gets a ton of shit, a chunk of it valid criticism. I don't care if it's an unpopular opinion, but the best iteration of the Elite's are seen here. Their A.I felt insanely smart, but not unfair. The new armor designs are near flawless, with them looking distinctly Covenant, and all having unique silhouettes. That really drove home the "invasion" theme Reach had going, you're being steamrolled by a wicked and razor sharp force. And each enemy variant strikes fear into the player when you see a gang of em run up on you, wasting zero seconds to kick your shit in. I've been crawling my way through the MCC PC on Legendary, and theirs a damn good reason why I'm way ahead in CE and 2, and just got to Oni Sword Base in Reach.
Reach Ultras had the coolest design of all elites in the series. Honor guard, Reach Spec Ops, and Councilors are all cool, but not on par with Reach Ultras.
Last mission of Halo Reach was so infuriating. It has still been the Halo game I have beaten 100% on legendary. Those Zealots that kill Emile though... they were hard.
darth vader yeah #fuckhalo5cutscenes i also hate them because unrealistic (to the halo cannon) the elites behave like brutes and in the master chief vs Locke cutscene Master chief could easily bitch slapped Locke into hell
4real m8 r u sirius ikr,the fight between chief and locke looks like two drunk men fighting instead of augmented super humans wearing highly Powered armor.and let's not forget that there were no shields being seen.
darth vader actually when I think about it's actually like two drunk men fighting, ik where are their sheilds was my reaction was where were their sheilds it's Spartan throne (I think that his name) vs that one eye elite Spartan ops cutscenes all over again
I like how well this lines up with the actual story of Halo (not sure if intentional): in Reach you are a Spartan III fighting a losing battle against overwhelming odds, it makes sense that you are gonna struggle against Elites, but in 4 and 5 you're the Master Chief, you've already beat the Covenant, so even tough Elites shouldn't be too much of a problem for you.
There is a lot of debate over my ranking of CE and 2. I think there are good cases being made for both sides. Thanks for giving me continued motivation to keep doing this series. If a bunch of you guys are putting the effort to comment on my video then it must be a good series. I'm not necessarily going to do brutes next though ;PLuke TheNerdable
which Halo Game Has The Strongest has the Jackals which Halo Game Has The Strongest has the Hunters which Halo Game Has The Strongest has the Brutes which Halo Game Has The Strongest has the Grunts
Luke TheNotable in halo 4 and 5 the elites where to easy to kill I played every halo game and only in halo 1 and 2 even reach that we’re I found it was hard.
Luke, I disagree with you and think you have 1 and 2 the wrong way round as you overlooked several important points. Firstly, you underestimate the CE plasma pistol. The charge shot does not home in as well that is true. However the CE plasma pistol's regular fire can be monstrous. If you have a good trigger finger it is the best gun out of itself, the AR and the plasma rifle. I personally can kill a full shielded elite major on legendary in less than a second with the plasma pistol. It makes the elites very underwelming. You also don't consider that one plasma grenade on the floor can kill even a CE zealot in one go. On H2 even if you stick an ultra elite, that is not enough. Finally, due to your paper shields a halo 2 elite can kill you in less than a second, a CE elite can not do that if you have full health as well as shields.
Halo 4: "Shipmaster, we outnumber them 10 to 1" "Splendid. Just make sure to d-" "Shipmaster, the demon is attacking!!" "That is to be expected. Just make sure to d-" "Shipmaster, He is charging a plasma pistol!!" "DOOOODDDGGEE!!!!" "Shipmaster, what is your fixation on Dodge? Chevy is clearly bett- OH HIERARCHS IT BURNS!!"
I didn't use the noob combo a single time in my halo 4 (heroic) playthrough. Pretty disappointing that i could just emply an AR clip to kill elites. Hate that they nerfed elites to make the prometheons appear more dangerous
Bungie: Elites are the spartan's true adversaries. Smart, agile, and powerful - they'll be a challenge, and they'll be so badass, many players will be willing to play as them in multiplayer. They're the best of the best, thus the name 'elite'. 343: lol who would want to play as an elite let's remove them and let's make Spartans way more powerful and completely gut the covenant in favour of our new cooler enemy faction™
To be fair, the Covenant not being in Halo 4-5 would have made sense given the ending of 3. Just sucks that the new faction™️ is so basic both in looks and ‘motivation’. “Oh look, white and (insert color) robots that hate humanity because humanz r bad. Never seen that before”
@Rtas Vadum The Shipmaster If anything the Jackal snipers and armored Brutes were much more difficult to deal with in Halo 2, while Halo Reach had many types of Elites to dominate the field.
I'd have to disagree with 2. Reach was harder than 1 elite wise but I felt like if you simply had good movement elites weren't too big of a problem 🤷🏽♂️
@@marvinwilson1266 I see your point. Halo Reach elites just have more options to deal with players than Halo 2s did. So they have always felt harder to me, because they just have more ways to back out of tough situations. The other thing is map sizes, Halo Reach campaign missions aren’t as claustrophobic so you can get around elites easier but halo 2 is very closed so it’s harder to maneuver around them.
@@Darksamus51 yeah halo 2 was kind of choked everytime I speedrun it, its soo easy to get lit up while even swordflying at times it's very annoying but halo reach had a little space to breath at least😂
Jimwar Lego Freak that’s not something you should need to be taught. It’s a deliberately obvious combo and it’s been in every halo game ever. It’s basically the only use of the plasma pistol besides emp
Brute chieftains are alot harder since you cant just plasma pistol and 1 tap them to the head. Elites are just easy if you clear all grunts etc. around them.
@@GalacticFox32 I havent. I made Quick google search and according to some wiki it was about retreating and keeping an eye on your surroundings if there was something you could use to defeat your enemy. Is this the technique you meant?
I love the look of halo 2 elites. Their armor, colors, and weapons are beautiful. All elites should look like them. The Reach elites move and act like i think elites would. They command respect. All elites should act like them.
Heavily disagree with Halo 2 elites being lower than halo ce elites, especially as you argument hinged on occationally having low heath in ce, whereas Halo 2 is like permenently playing on one health.
idiotscampaigninc I agree, the health system should not be tied to how effective the elites are. At full health in halo 1 you could take 26 shots... In halo 2 you could take a staggering 9 XDXDXD
Halo 2 elites are weaker than Halo 1 elites. He's not saying they're significantly weaker. They're both strong But when compared to each other, Halo 1 elites are stronger
Ayo Emmanuel they're really not. The Halo 2 elites can kill you with a single melee. The halo ce elites cannot. In Halo 2 you are weaker than ever and the enemies are stronger than ever. His arguments simply do not follow.
hardest to easiest for me was: halo 2 (for obvious reasons) halo ce (because the game wasn't properly refined for the difficulty so you had almost unbeatable parts not that the levels had bad design just they weren't designed for legendary), halo reach (pretty tough, cleverest ai but also best weapons and armour abilities making it easier) halo odst (as an odst your just plain weak nuff said), halo 3 (tough challenge espechaly for first timers flood levels like halo ce were espechaly hard but nothing unbearable unless you did certain achievements) halo 4 (difficult last few levels and a solid legendary, frustrating parts but nothing to insane) finally halo 5 (mostly easy except for like 2 parts).
I finally beat all the games on the master chief collection and it was horrible especially with halo 2 being disgusting. Halo 2 is hardest then halo CE then halo 3 then halo 4
Plasma Pistol/Headshot combo: exists Me, just after recalling the fight with the Field Marshal and his Zealots on Pillar of Autumn on Legendary: Hysteric screaming
I think they're all Field Marshalls. The highest rank and the ones tasked to do very important missions. They all had dual Plasma Rifles, Fuel Rod Guns, Plasma Grenade Launcher, Energy Swords, & Concussion Rifles. Armed to the teeth
Oh U asking me which of the Halo elite types is the strongest? Let me tell U 2. Elites in Halo game 1. Elites in the novel 'Fall Of Reach' (Everyone who has read the book gets it)
"Wort wort wort..." "I raised you better than to use that language!" *Smacks with purse* "OW! Jeez mom i'm not a kid anymore! *gets smacked* OW!" "Don't talk back to me! And why haven't you found a girl with nice mandibles yet?!"
343 worker: Hey boss how fast should the elites be? Microsoft: Hmmm lemme think, how bout a 6th OF A SECOND 343 worker: Boss don't you think that's too much for the players. Microsoft: ARE U QUESTIONING MY AUTHORITY 343 worker: no sir ill get right to it, im just worried that the players will lose there shit Microsoft: Soon the journey shall begin and nothing not even the players shall stop it.
Yeah I definitely agree with the Reach elites being at the top. They were the hardest ones for me to ever deal with. Admittedly also the most fun with the pride you had fighting them off successfully
Halo Reach was by far the best Halo. Cinematography, storyline, that sense of helplessness as the covenant ravage everything and the sacrifices of team noble. It was just epic and nothing has come close to it afterwards, smh
Man the only death I didn't care about was kat. The entire time I was like "put the helmet back on bitch your shield is down" then she gets shot and it's like "that's what happens"
Wow, they're spartans, spartans aren't suppose to be crying they aren't suppose to be showing emotions, they're suppose to get the job done and sacrifice themselves for others. They're not suppose to be crying when one of there team mates die they're not going to get a reward when they die, they're spartans don't forget that. Master chief is just as blend as noble team.
I disagree with the plasma pistol comment in halo 1 the plasma pistol, if you could fire as fast as jackals on legendary, could wipe out a room and easily kill elites on legendary even without overharge. Plus the ammo was plentiful and it was extremely anti-flood.
The CE plasma pistol is godly. So glad to see a message giving it love. On MCC I have over 350k campaign kills in CE, the plasma pistol being my preferred weapon on my stats.
The hardest mission on legendary in halo reach imo was long night of solace. It was sooo annoying because when you jumped into the covenant cruiser, it felt like 100 elites were in there. The rest of the mission was basically just dealing with huge elite armies. But the pillar of autumn mission with the 3 elite ultras was almost equally angering
He isn't EQUAL to Chief, he just has the name designation of Hyper Lethal. Two Olympic athletes share a designation, but one of them is gonna be better
@@KitKatNisa how is he not? He's the only other spartan with that rank. He's either an equal or close second, which still puts him above basically every other spartan including spartan 2s.
Crona Makenshi you’re damn right, one of them is gonna be better, that’s why I prefer Noble six, he was the best... You know, cuz he saved the pillar of autumn including the chief’s ass and stayed behind in an abandoned planet fighting against an entire covenant armada all alone. Cortana said it, the master chief had something other spartans didn’t, “luck”. Six on the other hand wasn’t lucky but still, he was hyper lethal.
Came here to say this. The ONLY thing the S3's didnt have that the S2 did was Mjolnir. As soon as you put an S3 in Mjolnir, there is no difference. Unless you're Gamma Company of course. The augmentations were the same, Halseys S2's just didnt have the same medical advancement the S3's had. They got chemical injections at a young age so they grew into the body they altered. S2's was all in one surgery so S2's literally saw time different from one day to the next.
Oni base on reach was my favorite mission just for that segment. It was fantastic and perfectly highlights the perspective of the UNSC when fighting elites. They were monsters before overly zealous acolytes.

Interesting theory. Really like that.
Arbiters forces show be strong Since alot of them are x-covenant and still not happen that they don't have the old looking elites with them. and while not use arbiters H2A look instead of making a new model would of saved money.
Amazing theory
Nanomachines Son! I love the way you put it
It also ironically aligns with the fact that Reach was the last Halo game by Bungie, so they wanted to go out with a bang and perhaps make the best and most challenging Halo yet. The advances in animation and AI make this clear also, updating and improving the engine/graphics and gameplay.

jeremiah edgar Nah it’s pretty easy, so far the only hard level has been Long Night or Solace and only because the ship section is trashz
@@virginiasaintj Exactly, the iirc the white ultras can be one shot with a overcharged plasma pistol, then one tap to the head.

What's even worse about the reach elites is that you very rarely even fight minor elites.
The first ones are a group of ultras lol
I think you MIGHT get 1 or 2 minors during the first engagement of ONI sword base based on random chance, but other than that I can't remember a single minor in all of Reach. The vast majority of Elties in Reach are Ultras and higher with the odd Major.

The Covenant in Reach were the best. The AI was amazing, the art design was fantastic and the weapons and sound effects were amazing for the Covenant. In future games the Covenant should be like they were in Reach.
PackHunter117 definitely
It was the pinnacle of the design of Halo games (not the best Halo overall, but I thought the visual style was the best), and then 4 and 5 crapped all over what was established, removing the military aspect of the design and making it more strictly sci-fi. Looks like generic dogshite now
I think the Artstyle for Halo 3 elites was better, but everything else is much better looking in Reach.
PackHunter117 they made the covenant scary to an extent.
Beating reach on legendary is something I’m very proud of.
@Ian Dontain I struggled way more on halo ce and halo 2 than reach

The Elites in Halo: Reach kicked my ass quite a lot. From my experience they were the most difficult to fight, aside from Halo 2 where chief is about as strong as tissue paper.

Yeah right! Hes definately at his stongest in Halo 2 if he can stun an elite with a melee! He cant do that nowadays.
On legendary Chief is the second weakest thing in the game next to the flood spores. Even Grunts could take more damage than Chief. It was just awful bullshit design.

I personally had a harder time killing elites in halo 2.
But I agree on Reach. It took one hell of a time to finish
the campaign on legendary, because of these high-rankeds...
Not surprised that I never managed to solo Legendary all those years ago.

yakovlev999 The elites in 343i games are rogue elites from Halo 4 or elites that still believe in the covenant. After it fell, enemies became less of what they are supposed to be, as said for the elites.
In Halo 5, the Swords of Sanghelios fit into the honorable elites you mention.
"Do you even WORT, bruh?"

Halo Reach had some BRUTAL Legendary elites. The 12 year old in me shivers at the thought.

@@GalacticFox32 I havent. I made Quick google search and according to some wiki it was about retreating and keeping an eye on your surroundings if there was something you could use to defeat your enemy. Is this the technique you meant?
MrTonttu brute chieftains weren’t shit for me the elites were hard af tho
And the hunters
Funny how they get weaker as the canonical timeline progresses, maybe they were dragging dregs when Halo 4 came around. Interesting.
Theres a comment above by another user, It very well puts what you just said into detail and its amazing
I love the look of halo 2 elites. Their armor, colors, and weapons are beautiful. All elites should look like them.
The Reach elites move and act like i think elites would. They command respect. All elites should act like them.
We all know it was odst
Man those corpses on the floor were TOUGH!
The Unpopular Swine YIS
The Unpopular Swine
They were so good they died before you could even find them.
I tHiNk SpArTaN AsSaUlT eLitEs ArE tHe HaRdEsT
I still believe halo reach has the best design great
Me: Exists
That Reach Elite who happens to have a leg: *Please allow me to introduce myself.*
halo reach elites were insane
MrNinjacake7
Have you ever seen halo wars 1 elites design?
I once saw a video of single halo reach elite did one sword slice killing three players
Yeah I remember it on fails of the week! It was so cool
That's master Elite right. that's doctor professor BADASS.
5Golden Rings Link pls
Dang man I’ll try, it was from a rooster teeth fail video so it may take a while
That's Mr doctor professor badass
Heavily disagree with Halo 2 elites being lower than halo ce elites, especially as you argument hinged on occationally having low heath in ce, whereas Halo 2 is like permenently playing on one health.
idiotscampaigninc I agree, the health system should not be tied to how effective the elites are. At full health in halo 1 you could take 26 shots... In halo 2 you could take a staggering 9 XDXDXD
I was thinking the same thing right there lol. 2's health system was way more brutal in that regard.
idiotscampaigninc also they only die fast by a br and plasma pistol and that's really all, yea reach elites are smart, but does that make them strong?
Halo 2 elites are weaker than Halo 1 elites. He's not saying they're significantly weaker. They're both strong
But when compared to each other, Halo 1 elites are stronger
Ayo Emmanuel they're really not. The Halo 2 elites can kill you with a single melee. The halo ce elites cannot. In Halo 2 you are weaker than ever and the enemies are stronger than ever. His arguments simply do not follow.
recently played reach for the first time and i was so confused because i only new the halo ce and 2 elites
Funnily enough, Halo Reach was the only Halo I completed solo on legendary. All the others were just way too frustrating.
maybe you just got better before being reach
Almost beat halo 2 on leg. Reach was the first.
hardest to easiest for me was: halo 2 (for obvious reasons) halo ce (because the game wasn't properly refined for the difficulty so you had almost unbeatable parts not that the levels had bad design just they weren't designed for legendary), halo reach (pretty tough, cleverest ai but also best weapons and armour abilities making it easier) halo odst (as an odst your just plain weak nuff said), halo 3 (tough challenge espechaly for first timers flood levels like halo ce were espechaly hard but nothing unbearable unless you did certain achievements) halo 4 (difficult last few levels and a solid legendary, frustrating parts but nothing to insane) finally halo 5 (mostly easy except for like 2 parts).
I finally beat all the games on the master chief collection and it was horrible especially with halo 2 being disgusting.
Halo 2 is hardest then halo CE then halo 3 then halo 4
those jackals man
Is it me or Carter screaming "We've been engaged!" sounds identically like Alex Mason
It's the numbers Mason....no it isn't, it's Viktor Reznov
My list is:
None in 3 or odst
Halo 5
Halo 4
Halo CE
Halo 2
Halo Reach...by FAR
Can honestly say its cool that the only two we had different were 4&5
Ikr. In reach they melee in like .2 seconds.
epicman158 but what if you betray your ai Allies
Same
well there are elites on ODST but they're dead
Plasma Pistol/Headshot combo: exists
Me, just after recalling the fight with the Field Marshal and his Zealots on Pillar of Autumn on Legendary: Hysteric screaming
Let me tell U
2. Elites in Halo game
1. Elites in the novel 'Fall Of Reach'
(Everyone who has read the book gets it)
K
Naw man i havent read that book since 4th grade dawgg
"Wort wort wort..."
"I raised you better than to use that language!" *Smacks with purse*
"OW! Jeez mom i'm not a kid anymore! *gets smacked* OW!"
"Don't talk back to me! And why haven't you found a girl with nice mandibles yet?!"
Hey Luke, um did you forget the fact that the halo 5 elites can melee you AT POINT 6th OF A SECOND
Edit: this was a joke, and Luke i love you
yes, but still it's like the elites are fkin sonic
343 worker: Hey boss how fast should the elites be?
Microsoft: Hmmm lemme think, how bout a 6th OF A SECOND
343 worker: Boss don't you think that's too much for the players.
Microsoft: ARE U QUESTIONING MY AUTHORITY
343 worker: no sir ill get right to it, im just worried that the players will lose there shit
Microsoft: Soon the journey shall begin and nothing not even the players shall stop it.
Nasib Thind What, really?
Nasib Thind
Their weapons don't do much damage though, at least in the campaign. War zone on the other hand...
They do it in reach as well... dead before the animation even fucking starts!
*reach flashbacks*
Yeah I definitely agree with the Reach elites being at the top. They were the hardest ones for me to ever deal with. Admittedly also the most fun with the pride you had fighting them off successfully
Halo Reach was by far the best Halo. Cinematography, storyline, that sense of helplessness as the covenant ravage everything and the sacrifices of team noble. It was just epic and nothing has come close to it afterwards, smh
ARCblooper The story and characters took a backseat to the world building and atmosphere. And it was very well done.
have you played halo 1
ARCblooper Noble Team was only underdeveloped if you *only* payed attention to their dialogue.
Triadicmoney 853
Actually, it is
Triadicmoney 853 you are most likely not good and I mean GOOD in halo.
The CE plasma pistol is godly. So glad to see a message giving it love. On MCC I have over 350k campaign kills in CE, the plasma pistol being my preferred weapon on my stats.
IWHBYD BADBMOTF
The assault rifle is mine. Even for legendary.
just a random person that’s why you’re just a random person lmao
The hardest mission on legendary in halo reach imo was long night of solace. It was sooo annoying because when you jumped into the covenant cruiser, it felt like 100 elites were in there. The rest of the mission was basically just dealing with huge elite armies.
But the pillar of autumn mission with the 3 elite ultras was almost equally angering
"Lowly spartan 3"
You mean literally the only equal to chief outside of the arbiter?
He isn't EQUAL to Chief, he just has the name designation of Hyper Lethal. Two Olympic athletes share a designation, but one of them is gonna be better
@@KitKatNisa how is he not?
He's the only other spartan with that rank.
He's either an equal or close second, which still puts him above basically every other spartan including spartan 2s.
@@KitKatNisa why would you even doubt a statement halsey makes
Remember that one video "The scariest elite ever"? That was the reason I figured halo reach's Elite's would win. their AI was crazy good
not to mention that one fails of the weak clip where a halo reach elite roundhouse kicked four players in firefight and killed them all
HEHEHE IM A SUPAHSTAR 117 oh dear god I remember that. Why is fails of the week nostalgia making me regret selling my Xbox?
do you know which episode that was? been trying to find it for an hour
HEHEHE IM A SUPAHSTAR 117 what episode?
I just realized halo reach ie better graphically than halo 4 and 5. 343 is going backwards lmao
I like Reaches art style better, but halo 5 is DEFINITELY more HD
Halo Reach was a work of art. The MP is meh, but that campaign.
Fidel M halo 4 had better dynamic lighting at time with terrible textures, while reach had decent lighting and amazing textures and scenery.
4&5 are kinda garbage tbh Except for the multiplayer which is ok
It’s cuz bungie left
6:46 - 7:01Aww, that was nice how they both stopped fighting. ^w^
The elite grabbed his butt
Master Chief would be like
" HA ! GAAAAAAAY ! "
@@gabrahamblincoln2789 The elite wanted to get one last grope in before he died.
Oni base on reach was my favorite mission just for that segment. It was fantastic and perfectly highlights the perspective of the UNSC when fighting elites. They were monsters before overly zealous acolytes.
