As a side note have had one person try to break into my car since this was installed over a year ago. (see other post) The lights came on first which didn't even slow him at all. But when he almost got to car door handle (he was moving very quickly) the siren went off (this was a little after 3am). To say he was startled is a understatement. At that point he did a 180 and moving even more quickly (running actually) he went straight for the car that him and several others came in, which they were checking out my neighbors cars left in a big hurry. Several of my neighbors called later that morning complaining about the alarm but after explaining what happened and showing a few of them the video they thanked me 😆
Nice but i already have several google nest battery cameras. I have them integrated with HA and they have Person, animal, vehicle onboard detection. also they have zone detection as well so can setup to send HA person detection only for that zone. So anybody enters the yard or driveway i have a automation that has the google assistant to notify us when which ever camera it is see's a person for example. Also if someone comes to the front porch after midnight I have a 12vdc siren connected to a 12vdc power brick which is connected to a smart singled outlet turn on, or if the camera overlooking the driveway sees someone it does the same. Also have the outside lights turn on (very bright) if someone enters the yard. So far (over a year now) no false positives.
Nice! I am working on getting all of my cams in Frigate. I am waiting for the dev to update the Eufy integration to support these wall cams and the new lock.
Most new Eufy cameras seem to be dropping HomeKit Secure Video support, I imagine that is the case here as well? Does the camera support RTSP? And were you able to add the bulbs to Home Assistant? Thanks for the video, I enjoy your content.
This is my struggle with Eufy. If they won't support RTSP and some kind of integration for the lights, I can't justify it. Otherwise, their products seen to be pretty good.
I don't think any of the cameras starting with the Eufy Cam 3 have HomeKit support. Their HomeBase3 and the EufyCam3 does support RTSP. I am hoping that once these cameras get HomeBase3 support you will be able to use RTSP. As far as Home Assistant, I talked to the dev of the Eufy Security integration and he is busy with his day job. Hopefully someone can pick up where he left off. I am going to control mine via the Google Assistant API. I will let you know how that goes.
Micro USB on a brand new product? Oof. I like the idea of the product but given the recent issues Eufy have had I'd not be confident with their products. I think they need to carry out a lot more damage control to get back public trust. Great video though.
I would agree on the micro USB, but you only use it during pairing. So it isn’t that big of a deal. I didn’t address the Eufy “issues” as I am letting the security experts see if it has been enough. I wasn’t as shocked by the claims as I figured some stuff was stored in the cloud. Thanks for watching!
Yep. I mentioned that in my smoke detector video. Once we can integrate with home assistant that will be easy. Right now you could use a Google assistant routine to turn them off and on.
Very good! One question, I chose warm white, but it is still more of daylight temperature. I would like a very warm white, but can't seem to get. at 50% brightness. Any ideas? Thank you very much!
@@ThisSmartHouse Tried power cycling but all 3 still remain around 4-5 thousand temperature range. I will contact Dufy and see what they say but thank you very much for getting back to me.
I am really interested in buying one of these but my porch has a low overhang where the porch light mounts to the wall. Can you give me the height of the light from the mounting bracket to the top of the light? The total length of the light is listed on the website but not just the top half.
@@ThisSmartHouse I have EUFY connected to Google Home as a Linked Service. I then say to .... show side camera on the lounge TV .... Google comes back with ....' Sorry I could not reach Euyy security or the device is unavailable right now. Yet I can turn on the camera spot lights - hmm a bit slow/inconsistent. Initially this worked. As I had the app open, would love to get only Human notifications, my two cats constantly trigger the device. Though the saved clips clearly know if it's human - figure most of the work is in the cloud. So in effect useless for day to day use !!

That is strange. I think mine seems pretty warm. Try power cycling the light and see if that changes anything. Are you testing on the manual mode?

That is a shame. Hopefully they can get you fixed up. I changed my colors to warm white and I do see a difference between that and bright white.

It looks like it is about 6.5 inches from the top of the mounting bracket to the top of the light.
Can this light/camera been used in homebridge or Hoobs?
I don't know if there is a homebridge integration. But I know the base Eufy project that home assistant uses doesn't support them yet.

There were literally minutes of footage of the final, installed, lights. Not every minute of a video can be b roll.
I don't buy Eufy any more. Maybe maybe not poor security, AI working poorly, HA cannot be used easily, they broke their Google integration.
