    What are the dimensions of the light fixture, and what's the distance between the 2 exterior screws that mount the light to the mount plate and the bottom of the light fixture? I have mounting blocks on my house for lights, and I don't want the lights to extend past the bottom of the mounting blocks.

    Does this light remember its previous setting when using a standard house switch to turn it on and off? 75 percent of the time i want to use these lights as standard porchlights and not have to use the app. Only on holidays i want to be able to match my holiday decor.

    Does this have to be installed on a flat wall. My wall siding have overlays.

    Great review..I've got a bunch of Govee products and was thinking of getting these. Wondering if you could answer a question. I want to use these to replace two exterior door lights. If I was to set them at a white color/brightness setting in the app, then turn them off using the inside wall switch will they turn back on at the same setting? We use the switch on the wall alot this location. Thanks for any help and keep up the good work!

      Great question. And I believe I skipped over it in the review. There's an option for power on function. So you can define exactly what happens when the device loses power and its reapplied. You can set it to a specific effect, resume the last effect, or just stay off.

      I have a similar setup with mine. I have three external lights and two of them are the govie. I just replaced the third with a smart bulb and I have a button inside I can use to trigger them all to turn on.

      Wall packs, I believe, do not have the stay feature. If power is turned off, and when power is turned back on.. the light will turn on. I see no setting for this feature in the wall pack settings.

    Great video. I'm close to buying, but can't seem to find a vinyl siding mounting block. Nothing is ever easy.

      That would be difficult. I mounted mine on stucco, so I have to seal it with silicone. Maybe something you can 3d print?

      @@ThisSmartHouseThanks. I did half think of that. Plan on having a chat with an electrician friend. I'm determined to make it happen 😁

      Withought major cutting and installing a block plate, you'll end up floating them on the square that should already be there.

    Just installed these but... how do i control both lights with one device name cuz right now i gotta control and connect each one seperately. Annoying.

      In the govee app you can add them to a group. You can do the same in Home Assistant or Google Home.

    Just an FYI those push connectors are not rated for outdoor use

    • @ThisSmartHouse
      @ThisSmartHouse  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is correct, but I don't believe this is considered a "wet" location as long as you have proper gaskets or sealant. The wire nuts that are included with the light or the ones my builder are also not outdoor rated. Those have to have the "goop" in them. But good call out!

      They are really fun. You can make some really cool effects. If you have other Govee Outdoor lights it just makes sense.

    There's no need for that bezel on it. it makes it look cheap.

    Would these lights work without a home bridge?

    • @ThisSmartHouse
      @ThisSmartHouse  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, you can control everything via the Govee Home app (via Bluetooth or WiFi). Nothing else required!

    this thing has a lot of features that i simply don't need. if i ever need an outdoor light, i'll go for something more cost-effective.

      @ThisSmartHouse  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You can always just purchase a smart bulb for an existing fixture. But it doesn't look as cool.
