This video and this guy is a life saver!!! Ordered the Start X for my 2018 Tacoma and added the Carlink because I park my truck further then the remote allows. Got sent the upgraded ASCLS as I guess that's the new model. Couldn't figure out the directions for the life of me. Car link was no help at all!! I was about to return it. But after tons of you tube research I stumbled upon this video. Helped helped me hook it up in 5 minutes. I'd buy this guy a beer if I could! Thank you!
Nice review. I'm doing this on a f250 and using Alexa rutines in my cell phone so when I set up alarm in the morning if is too cold a can commands my cell to start the truck
Weirdly enough, this exact setup works for my 23 4runner, startx starter and carlink 6. The only thing that's off is that it refuses to unlock from the app. It knows and shows when I unlock via the fob or door handle, but when I try to do it from the app, I hear the startx click twice but the car never does anything. Then the app shows its unlocked when it's not
@MarkKlanac yeah I just did the startx and carlink all at once last night in about 2.5hrs. I tried following the carlink install manual and it absolutely did not work, but this guy here's way worked perfect besides the unlock thing. Finding a spot to leave the carlink is wonky though, let me know if you find a solid spot for it
I'm installing the carlink module onto my Startx key unit 2020 Honda HRV. How did you determine which harness adapter to use and which port on the Start x to use. My Carlink gives no instructions on this. Unless it does it on the app. I was just reviewing things before starting the carlink install. Start X is installed and working fine. Any help would be great
Hello, there is a problem, I connect to startx, carlink does not work, only shows charge and location. I changed protocols one by one, it did not help, the car is a RAV4 23, version le. I will be grateful for any help.
@@DoItTogether2022 I downloaded the instructions from google which were exactly as u pointed out in video but it doesn’t specify pts or keyed. Instructions only state to put in “on” position so im assuming it doesnt matter🤔

I definitely will be purchasing this Mycar cell phone module for the Rav and follow your instructions on this video. Im just curious if this same programing method is used for the Camry as well. How did you get the programming instructions for your Rav in the box or on the app after you input vehicle info?
Can I just unplug the car link in the reverse order you installed? Seems like a dumb question but I wasn't the one who installed it. Having a problem with the door unlock/lock fuse blowing once a week and trying to trouble shoot.
Hello, I installed the evo-all with the carlink module, but my battery died and i tried pairing the carlink with the evo-all but nothing seems to happen. I'm able to remote start my car with the key fob , but the the module and app are not working. Do you know how to fix this ?
I would check and make sure the unit is getting power. It was working prior with no issues? What vehicle? You may need to contact car link directly. They are quite helpful!
The instructions are pretty horrible. How do we know which included harness is right for our vehicle? I have a 2018 Toyota Sienna. There is no information on which is the proper protocol for vehicles either. I selected ADS. I can get the App to start the vehicle but the app buttons don't turn green to show activation, they turn red and the app shows the vehicle is not started even though it is. I'm at a loss here. Any advice would help
@DoItTogether2022 no worries. I was able to call customer service and they walked me through the steps. At first they weren't very helpful but eventually we got it figured out.
I tried installing it when I received it and failed due to not having any instructions. Now I barely had the time to reprogram everything and the carlink leds do not turn on any help? My start x remote start works I just don’t get anything from the car link

That is odd. All functions work on my RAV4. Have you contacted start x and car link?
Thanks for the comment. I'm looking at this for my 21 4Runner. My StartX is installed behind the glove box so I wasn't sure it was the same.

@@Hector-cn3rv I did this video because the instructions were kind of all over lol, but I believe it was mostly in the box.
and i just notice that when u lock and unlock the door with this app the light dont flash like when u use the key remote to unlock and lock your car

@@VincentGonz It’s the same as you getting into car and starting it, so any settings your vehicle would normally keep this will be the same.
