@@dslrjunkie They are available in both. Mine happen to have the main beam in white but have an amber backlight when turned off (which can also be turned off if wanted). The backlight is also available in different colors. The backlight is a very low power, pretty much like a parking light.

@@ArbitraryLifestyle They have to be dimmed the same as high beams. SAE/DOT legal doesn’t mean you can leave them on all the time.

Exactly what you said.... sounds like an improper install.

These are the SAE/DOT legal driving beam. There are two street legal SS3s. One is a fog SAE which is legal for use at all times on public roads and then there's this one in the video which is 100% road legal when wired to only come on with the high beam. The model in the video doesn't have a cutoff it's not a fog lamp.

@@gxlbiscuitNope these aren't the SAE fog model these are the driving beam model! Designed to be used with the high beams on public roads.

@@richd7468 The plastic covers were included when I purchased the vehicle (new from dealer). They were in a plastic bag that included the tools). If yours are missing you can probably get them from the dealer.

I did! Just to clarify, the bolts do not need to go back in though? I am worried about water coming in through the holes

@@maxmaxed2887 There are plastic covers on the rail. I haven’t used the bolts, not sure they would fit? I guess if they fit it wouldn’t hurt?

@@Black_Hammer2231 It’s been pretty good. If you’re looking for rattle the car next to you this is definitely not it lol. I paired this with a 350w amp and it does really well for adding some kick to the music.

@@DoItTogether2022 perfect ! Yeah it’s my wife’s car just want a sound upgrade just enough where it isn’t obnoxious! I also plan on upgrading all door speakers , the stock ones distort in certain songs @ high volumes

@@Black_Hammer2231 The best upgrade is the dash speakers. Door speakers add a little but not much. At that point you’ll probably want to do an amp or new head unit. Check out Crutchfield for the dash and door speakers, link is in description (they provide great support and things for free like the wiring and speaker standoff/adapters).

@@herbbot8241 Well, easily done in a day. I took a few breaks due to the heat. But it’s a pretty easy job. Set aside 3-4 hours and you’ll be fine. Probably half that but taking video really extends the time lol.

@@herbbot8241 Mine was like $700 if I remember correctly. After seeing the work they had done installing my trailer hitch I decided to install the side steps myself lol. As an fyi, it’s not a bad idea to video also if you can, this way if you have a warranty you can show everything was done correctly.

@@EddieSiembra Never had the JBL so I couldn’t say. I had the Kicker PT250 prior to this, and this is quite a bit better and takes up almost no room.

@@237311 According to Diode Dynamics it is. It is not the power level but more the lens optics.

​@@DoItTogether2022 It's illegal to use the Pro model on the road because its power level is much higher compared to the Sport model, and its wider beam pattern could potentially blind oncoming traffic. However, it might be perfectly fine for off-roading.

@@237311 The pro carries the same SAE rating as the sport. Brighter does not equal illegal. Many vehicles have really bright high beams. It is illegal in every state (as far as I’m aware) to not dim your lights within a certain distance of other vehicles. That doesn’t make the lights themselves illegal. But different states have different regulations regarding aftermarket lights.

@@237311You are incorrect. Pro Driving light is SAE approved, but as an auxiliary high beam not fog light. These lights come in different beam patterns, but all 3 power levels have street legal options.

@@superdutyzack People think if it's something SAE approve, it's safe to buy. only in certain situations where you cannot have excessively bright light must be avoided to prevent blinding other drivers.

I’ll have that answer by the end of this week. I’ll be running the XRT on same track that I had run the Kraton on.

So, I would say as an overall they are pretty equal. I wasn’t as worried about damaging the XRT since it is a bit lighter, and I would say it handles a little bit better, mostly due to the weight. You really can’t go wrong with either one though. The Kraton may have a slight edge in turning sharpness.

I almost did the video without the wheels lol. In the end I guess it doesn’t really matter, we are all lucky to have such great rcs to choose from.

The 1 ohm doesn’t really make a difference, at least in the doors, especially with the stock head unit. The stock head unit distributes power in a weird way lol. I have replaced the kickers with a set of Infinity reference REF607FSL in rear, and JBL Club 64FSL in front. The volume difference is very slight, but I was looking for a little more midrange. So based on firsthand experience I would say it really doesn’t matter for the most part. The biggest difference was changing out the dash speakers. My advice to anyone wanting better sound would be change the dash speakers and a small subwoofer. Changing the other speakers will be a minimal difference and will require at the minimum an amp to push them or a different head unit. Thank you for watching and for your comment 👍.
