  • This was us running from the freezer to the tractor with a frozen sleeve trying to get it in before they warmed up! Had to tap it in the rest of the way.

    these liners failed about a year later as well as the head gasket... faulty after market parts were to blame the liners and head gasket were a&i parts

      How did they fail? They seem too loose to the bore since they went in that easy, especially if the block was not heated up. Perkins recommends using Locktite too.

      There are different types of liner.
      A service liner might be transition fit. That is, they can be pushed in by hand without any cooling or heating of the parts.
      These liners here are obviously going in much harder. So they would be production liners that are interference fit.
      We can not blame the parts here. It is up to the mechanic to measure the bore and the liner.
      Maybe they would have been better off using service liners and loctite.
