Another great episode. Loved your guest host and Abby is doing a great job on her blanket. Learning to crochet is one of my goals this year. Great discussion on color. That is always hard for me. My compliment for myself would be even tension and sock heels with no holes.
Always love listening to you ladies! Enjoyed seeing Teddy on the podcast! I would give myself two knitting related compliments. First, how great my socks fit with no gaps around the heel. Second, I'm adventurous and not afraid to try new patterns, techniques or tools.
Another great episode ladies! Teddy is adorable Amanda😊A compliment I would give myself…not sure if this is a compliment or not, but I can only have one wip on the go at a time! I have to finish whatever I’m working on before I start another one😀
Hi Kathleen, Jen and Amanda, Thanks for another enjoyable and very informative and inspiring podcast! "Fall at Yarnia "sock set is beautiful! Will have to do some Yarnia shopping soon and sign up to take another class!!! My compliment to myself is when i complete a project how happy it makes me feel to gift it to someone special and they love it! Happy Knitting!
That's a great question. I think that I am pretty good at making lemonade out of my knitting lemons. I have turned my first knitted mitten disaster into a cute hen egg cup cozy! Thank you for a great podcast. Karin
I am really selfless with my knitting. I’m really good at gift knitting. I made socks for my partner who has size 12 feet. My son gets hats and cowls, my daughter has her own box of socks. I love knitting for others, and I’m good at it.
My compliment to myself, “you get beautiful tension and stitches are so even and consistent, creating a pretty fabric”! #myopinion -frog it if you are not happy with it. That was the hardest thing for me to do the first time. Now, I frog a lot, and find it therapeutic and educational, instead of traumatizing!
Jen I too love that yarn! Teddy was so cute. I have a 3 yr old great nephew who has decided that he wants me to knit him a sweater. Not sure he really understands what that means but we will find out as I have a Felix on the needles for him. I think the compliment I would give myself has to do with patience with things not going as planned. I wanted a black sweater but the first two patterns I started did not work as I had hoped. I got just past the separation for sleeves on both and then just was not happy so I frogged the sweater and started again. I don't get upset or stressed because I know in the end I will have something I will love and wear. I have to admit that patience, to a certain extent, has come with age. It is a quality I truly value.
I could listen to your shenanigans all day long. When I am making a sock on size 0 or 1 needles, I am always amazed how the heel flap with the gusset and decreases looks spectacular, a work of art, one of the best things I do. After many pairs of socks, it never gets old. Thanks for the podcast.
I love all your yarn 😊 A compliment I would give myself is that even after knitting/crocheting for 40+ years, I still try something new every year. This year, I am making a Tunisian crochet shawl and wild also like to try Estonian knitting on a pair of socks.
Another great episode!! A compliment I try to give myself is -You are getting so brave with your knitting-trying things you used to think were too hard. And now you keep in mind that it’s just yarn -if it doesn’t work you can always tear it out and start again.
Loved the talks about color choices to wear. One complements I will give to myself is “you are getting better with every piece you make” keep it up 😂 Teddy is adorable 🥰
My compliment for myself is to be willing to make 3 or 4 tests before deciding which knidlees are the right ones for my yarn and my work. I am a loose knitter like Ken and Kat
LOVE spending Saturday mornings with y’all! Sets me up in a good mood for dealing with the public at work in the evening. Complimenting myself? I have excellent color sense! Not only for knitting but fashion and interior design too. My friends consult me all the time and that brings me such joy.
Compliments to me for being a monogamous knitter. I have never had more than 2 or 3 items on my needles and I have no long-term WIP's. I have knit for many years now and I truly enjoy the finish of an item before casting on something new. I very much enjoy having 1 or 2 projects active.
Amanda, if the 3-d on your blanket doesn’t steam out, maybe you could seam one row then pick up and knit a few rows then join the next row. It would be like a quilt with sashing.
My compliment would be that I find something great to make out of yarn I purchased somewhere because I loved it and didn’t have a pattern in mind at the time.
You gals are amazing! I love Teddy so much! Oh my goodness is he ADORABLE! Jen, I love and appreciate the mom commentary. I have an 8 year old and you speak my language with the thoughts of them and their actions, haha! Love the huge dumpling cat! I'm torn on the color thing coming back into popularity. I think it forces people into outfits and colors they may not gravitate towards too, then they don't feel comfortable wearing it. #opinion- What do you do with all the knits you decided you can't wear? All the best! Kimberly
More great suggestions! I still want to knit socks, but now I have to research what single means. And knit color work in knitting to see how colors look together.
My crafty compliment to myself is that I am always willing to go on a yarn adventure (whether it’s trying new techniques or checking out new yarn stores or teaching more people to knit).
I use the double gusset heel on all my socks now and have been ever since I discovered that pattern back in May of 2022.And I've knit 28 pairs with it since then. The only time I don't use it is if I'm in a sock along or test knitting where I'm required to knit the sock exactly as written. That's only been two pairs. It's made my already well-fitting socks fit practically perfectly. 10/10 do recommend. My compliment to myself is that I love how even my stitches are when I'm knitting socks. It was entertaining to have Teddy there for part of the episode. And this was a fun episode overall. Lots of awesome projects and FOs to see and it always feels like I'm knitting along with friends.
Love your Dumpling Kitty! My great- niece loved the Squishmallow that I knit for her so much! ❤️ A compliment that I would give myself is ‘Good job for being a brave knitter’. I’m not afraid to try new things - it’s simply needles, yarn, and combinations of knits & purls.
you ladies are hilarious! i am a work class frogger. 😂i don't know anyone that frogs as quick or as often as i do. If i am not happy with something, it sits badly in my stomach uncomfortably until i frog it. Sometimes i am stubborn and actually finish something that should have been frogged at the 10% mark... but it doesn't matter, because I can and will frog it eventually anyway. I think i know myself well enough now to just give in as soon as the frog feeling turns up 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸
I was so surprised…I felt like he was so intrusive during the podcast, but when I was editing he was fine! 🥰 A little lesson for me to just enjoy these days and let others enjoy him too. So glad for your comment! ~a🥰
@@ChroniclesofYarnia absolutely not intrusive at all! Definitely a highlight and so sweet to see 🩷 plus a fun memory was made! I don’t think I’ll be able to say “I love your yarn!” Without thinking of this episode
#opinion….how do feel when you find mistakes in your projects- too late to rip back and not big enough to affect the FO? Compliment to myself: I’m proud of what I did. When you think of all we know and all we can do with yarn, it’s pretty impressive! 😂
Thank you for a fun and informative podcast. Amanda, Teddy is so sweet and behaved so well🎈Abby your blanket is beautiful, you should be very proud🧶 A compliment that I would give to myself is that I’m not afraid to frog a project that I’m not happy with. I always say to myself, it’s just yarn and time.

What a fun episode! I've gotten much better at clearing my needles recently! The sweet "I love your yarns" were precious!
Always enjoy your podcast!❤ working on a old project.

Love the episode. I am so pleased I’m willing to always tink. I was totally “still watching”
Amanda, your kids are so cute. Abby is so sweet. I love her blanket. Thank you, ladies, for another wonderful podcast. Karin

Thank you! And we agree sock heels are works of art!
I love all your yarn 😊

That is a great complement and thing to do!
A compliment I would give myself is that I am adventurous. I will try anything at least once. That is how found out. I like mosaic crochet.
Another great episode!! A compliment I try to give myself is -You are getting so brave with your knitting-trying things you used to think were too hard. And now you keep in mind that it’s just yarn -if it doesn’t work you can always tear it out and start again.
Love that!
My compliments would be that I love the colors of my projects they're great! And that I take chances with the type of projects that I like to knit.
Loved the talks about color choices to wear.
One complements I will give to myself is “you are getting better with every piece you make” keep it up 😂
Teddy is adorable 🥰
Great compliment, and one everyone should think about using!
A compliment I give myself is that having a few different gauge (needle or hook sizes) projects is good for my wrists even if progress is slower.
My compliment for myself is to be willing to make 3 or 4 tests before deciding which knidlees are the right ones for my yarn and my work. I am a loose knitter like Ken and Kat

Ohh - that is a great idea!
I love it when I finish a project and it fits or comes out the way I imagined it to look.😊
Little Teddy was so adorable and well - behaved. A treat watching you gals every single time. Thanks it means a lot.🤍🦋🤍
😊 thank you
A complement I'd give myself is that I've gotten better at recognizing where I've made mistakes and how to correct a lot more of them 😬
My compliment would be that I find something great to make out of yarn I purchased somewhere because I loved it and didn’t have a pattern in mind at the time.

My compliment to myself would be that I'm getting ready good at reading my knitting 💓 as I sit here fixing a mistake in a lace shawl!
A compliment I would give myself is that I’m not afraid to try something new with my knitting.
My crafting compliment is I can crochet without looking and learning to knit without looking, my 2024 goal.
A compliment I hope to give myself one day - I love how you are willing to to work through mistakes instead of giving up ❤
You can do it!
I love that I I have the tenacity to rip out and start over

I compliment myself by admiring my stitch definition. I have nice even stitches.
The Fall at Yarnia sock set is gorgeous!!

I was watching this with my two year old and three month old and felt so seen 😂 you should always have your special guest on with you!

“You did a great job hacking that pattern!” (Usually this involves shortening a yoke)

Yes attached garages in Calgary! 🥶
I can knit almost anything without a pattern 😊
Both of my brothers ran away years ago and joined the circus/carnival 😂
Truly?
@@ChroniclesofYarnia Yes they did but they both came back eventually.
It looks like kites.
