Album Of The Year. The transition between "God is a sick f*ck" and "Better Written Villain" is grammy to me. Masterpiece. BTW lots of Try Not To Headbang 2024 here.
I didn’t put it together on my own listen through, but after listening through it with you, I am now realizing how much this guy’s cleans sound like Jacob from Thornhill, especially older Thornhill like TDP and even the Butterfly EP
Love this album, 156 deserve more love. The artwork is cool and the features go hard (especially Mouth For War's vocalist on Change Agent) Will be on repeat!
Not hearing as much Silent Planet in this as others are saying, maybe the odd flows here and there. Overall actually get a lot of Johnny Booth and Blood Youth elements in a lot of the spoken, eerie sections. Really filled that void they left for me. Gone straight to my no. 3 spot though, could climb to 2 until Cane Hill, VOLA and Allt drop 👀 went into this with next to no anticipation of what to hear and was fully floored and given all the chills by it. Love the unsettling and dark vibe portrayed in it and Jon Dolese's punchy production fit absolutely perfectly with this sound
Blood Loss is definitely one of my favourites because of the flow of it, but unreasonable doubt is still the best, overall, my 3rd favourite aoty (imminence still on top, waiting to see if Fit for an Autopsy can change things up)
hi I recentley got back into metal & hardcore and your channel has guided me finding what's out there at the moment its amazing how deep this rabbit hole gets thanks.
This album is top 5 easily for AOTY I think and jacks cadence is already top tier and super unique. They don’t write bad or mid songs. Mouth of war feature IS A BANGERRRRR.
Damn, first time I hear that band, and I'm really obsessed. It's like darko went straight bloody violence without japanesque theme. Silent Planet on steroids, idk how to describe my feelings, but hell yeah I love it
I first listened to this album on a flight and I audibly gasped at sleep spikes transition into better written villain and scared the shit out of my seat mate
I just saw these guys live! And can say that they sound even better in person! WOW they melted my face off! Also their vocalist does both clean and harsh vocals. His gutturals were unmatched! Been jammin their album since it dropped, I hope it makes them blowup!!
I love the sound of this album. The ominous atmosphere mixed with the crushing heaviness and beautiful melodies are exactly what I hoped for when listening to this. The lyrics are pretty hard for me to follow, however. The gist I got was that this was a deconstruction of faith in the context of people using it to make themselves superior and turn a blind eye to the suffering of others. I can't help but feel like I'm missing something though. Anyone care to give their thoughts?
Great album. I think Boundaries is still my #1 of the year. I definitely hear the Silent Planet and Johnny Booth influences (also 2 of my favorite bands). It's absolutely haunting. Btw, I really appreciate you're back as we have very similar tastes in music. Your channel had turned me on to tons of music. Keep it up!
Liked this so much more than i was expecting to, songs are very well written and well structured, and with the interludes and more laid back moments it flows as an album so well
. I was kinda meh on their earlier stuff but these singles have been blowing me away and this album still passed my expectations. One of my favorite albums of the year. Possibly the best imo
This album is another masterpiece. Great vocal delivery and so different from everything else. The experimenting and atmosphere in the album fit so well. Can't believe BOG is the only one reacting to this album. Should be much bigger! CHANGE AGENT IS SAVAGE!
As much as I hate to say this, I kind of agree. Their style used to be more like the verses of Wants I Need and Bloodlust - lots and lots of lyrics, unrelenting even, and very unpredictable - but never too over the top. This felt much more underwhelming in that sense and a lot more structured, which kind of takes away from their relentlessness and the unpredictability. That's just one fans opinion tho. Regardless, this is still a great album, and I'm happy to see that they're continuing to grow and get recognized!!
Personally Not as big of a fan as the talking-singing parts but majority of the album is top tier. Change agent, character development and product placement are fucking insane
Not necessarily the actual music, but something about this album’s atmosphere and vibe is scratching my “Loathe” arch
I WAS JUST THINKING THE SAME THING, sometimes the screams remind me of Kadeem France NGL
Exactly, it makes me happy
frrr loathe my fav
I said the EXACT same thing
Knocked loose, Silent Planet and Thornhill had an incedibly disturbed baby. Album of the Year for me rn
well said
my exact same thought
And Poison the Well was the babysitter
Target Acquired sounds like it has a little Car Bomb in it too.
Those are definitely things being said
He wasn't making anything up about Unreasonable Doubt, holy shit.

This Album is giving me huge Silent Planet Vibes And I’m So Here For It
Right? Especially the scream vocals
way better than silent planet
@@drnkdscappuccino
Hmm idk about that one
Definitely, and TDWP too
I saved this album on Spotify cause Tuck from FFAK said it was really good, haha 😂

This along with Boundaries has been my this year's repeats. Not sure if i listened anything more than those two albums
i always coming back here for new music and you never disapointed me

Boundaries, Bloom, Foreing Hands and 156/silence, my favs releases so far
Blood Loss is definitely one of my favourites because of the flow of it, but unreasonable doubt is still the best, overall, my 3rd favourite aoty (imminence still on top, waiting to see if Fit for an Autopsy can change things up)
156/Silence is so awesome man. I just love their sound, definitely one of my favorite “newer” bands

AOTY so far. I love the creepy post-metalcore vibes. Silent Planet crossed with Knocked Loose.
Im so greatful for this video. I never would of heard of them otherwise. Been a long time since a band/album hit me this hard. Its fucking insane.
Feels like 156/Silence took inspiration from Silent Planet and Johnny Booth :D
Glad you covered these guys...been loving this album since I first found it
I just saw these guys live! And can say that they sound even better in person! WOW they melted my face off! Also their vocalist does both clean and harsh vocals. His gutturals were unmatched! Been jammin their album since it dropped, I hope it makes them blowup!!
A new hidden gem Obeyer released a couple debut singles. Very currents, lil thall, and a bit of nostalgic atmosphere.
YES. I saw they signed to Periphery’s label. Radiant has been on REPEAT for me
I love the lil groovy riffs they sprinkle into some of their songs like in product placement and better written villian
This album was a really fun experience!! I was also really pleasantly surprised with the new Future Palace album :)
Bought the album last night. Soo good. Blood Loss is my favorite
Blood loss was such a cool song, surprisingly my favorite
me trying to find the time signature: *panics*
it’s all 4/4 from what i checked, besides the chorus of product placement, which sounds like 6/4
The creepy ambience and atmosphere blends so perfect with the vocals. I'm delightfully unsettled through the whole record and I love it.
Boundaries, Alpha wolf and 156 on the aoty podium

Better Written Villain is one of the best songs of this decade.
Mayfield "The Cabin Session"
Bruh its good to see you back
This is Emmure/Knocked Loose with a hint of Bad Omens. It’s fuckin SICK
Great album. I think Boundaries is still my #1 of the year. I definitely hear the Silent Planet and Johnny Booth influences (also 2 of my favorite bands). It's absolutely haunting. daaaaaamn from the first track - banger after banger, great album
156 and boundaries are gonna have to fight to death for AOTY
Brother, tell us new resolve and whitechapel are on their way to the channel
MY BAND IS PLAYING WITH THESE MFS IN JANUARY!!! I'M SO UNBELIVEABLY STOKED!
Liked this so much more than i was expecting to, songs are very well written and well structured, and with the interludes and more laid back moments it flows as an album so well
Sooo good I’ve loved these guys since irrational pull had me in a chokehold. Really cool dudes from where I’m from
They deliver live too. Better Writen Villain was great ! His screams are insane
. I was kinda meh on their earlier stuff but these singles have been blowing me away and this album still passed my expectations. One of my favorite albums of the year. Possibly the best imo

Honestly such a good album, band was already up there but this is so dynamic and fresh. Easy top 3 metalcore pick.
Great Album and can’t wait to see them on the 27th! Great review and keep up the great content
You need to react to Unethical Dogma’s new single: Climacophobia.
Loved the album, easily one of my top 10 favorites of the year
That Jerry Seinfeld art slaps also

I'm a massive 156/Silence fan, but this is my least favorite album from them😬

same. it slaps a bit but everything before is more slappy to my ears. this one kind of runs together , at least so far.
Not even close to being Aoty
i bet you like falling in reverse

0 riffs lol
This album was insanely good, instant new fan
Oh if you haven't heard about them before, you have two albums and one Ep to listen in addition
Personally
Not as big of a fan as the talking-singing parts but majority of the album is top tier. Change agent, character development and product placement are fucking insane
