Poppy and Jordan are a match made in heaven, Fantano did have a lot of nitpicks with the album (while still giving it a 7!) but he specifically mentioned that you can just tell they're a special combo. As well as metal they're both into and influenced by hyperpop and some parts of k-pop (it's a verrrrry broad genre lol), j-pop and j-rock as well. So I really hope we see more of them together!

@@Sh1k4ri lol relax, i don’t have the power to stop anyone from enjoying it sheesh. I do however have the power to express my opinion. why do these morons always think a negative opinion on something affects their ability to think for themselves? Music is an art form, in any art form you will have fans and critics, i suggest you get used to it cause it’s not going anywhere. I stand by what i said, its not good… from the lyrics to musicianship, its a definitive step backwards. This album has some echoes of LP but for the most part i believe they should have just created a new band, cause it has very little DNA in common with any LP album. It’s similar to me as if metallica came out with a new album and sounded like something in the vein of puddle of mud. Look, the reality is without chester or a phenomenal vocalist to replicate his presence, this just doesnt have the same soul as linkin park. i suggest you go back and listen to the discography and then listen to the latest album, it’s not the same band at all. LP was known for blending multiple genres, including rock, rap, electronic, and nu-metal, into a cohesive and emotionally unique sound. All i heard was not that. In fact i believe without the release of “lost” we wouldn’t even be talking about LP.

I’m so f**king tired of hearing people saying “not original” “expected” and a lot of other things about the new album. Girl has been doing crazy stuff and almost the whole metal scene has ignored her all over the past years. She’s unfortunately (and ironically) gaining more attention doing these “generic” formulas that you all complain about it than doing the weird sh!t. You all just choose to ignore her when she does the most original sh!t and are failing to criticize the “generic” sounds because you all are just giving her attention because of it.

    • @Paprokh
      @Paprokh หลายเดือนก่อน +7

Bro what a comment, the logic behind most people's behaviour is just nonsense, there's just none. That's why I chose to appreciate almost every creative direction of an artist and show it to them with support, because most people won't ever be fully content because of their plain ignorance, and the most creative artists are undervalued too much, they need to hear our love of their unique work.

    • @thesaviorofsouls5210

People are allowed to like or dislike whatever they want really, if you love it? Fuck yeah im glad for you. Does someone dislike it? Fine, sucks for them as its much more fun to love something.
Most the songs arent my thing, but i have a hell of a lot of respect for poppy and how far shes come doing her own thing.
But that doesnt make the criticism less valid, especially if you spent years listening metalcore for example youre going to get tired of hearing the same shit everytime.
Generic is always going to do better as a whole because its safe.

@cervus_t agreed. Maybe bands or artists like Poppy or BMTH are gateway materials imo. Who knows (or maybe my wishful thinking) that people later may jam to bands like Insomnium, Opeth etc

i was worried before this dropped that it would all be metalcore, and just kinda generic, but i really ended up loving it all. it’s such a nice mix. i still feel like it could’ve done with another poppier song like crystallized, just to feel more balanced, but i still loved it

I don´t understand why every song is like oh I have listen before, Slipknot here somewhere else there. Why can´t someone listen to an album and just listen to it without mention there was something before. I think Poppy is just a very good musician. Maybe have listen herself to so many songs that bring her ideas for her own. But didn´t think about who had done before because she creat her own. And don´t think about if someone like it or not.

Same. I do like what Jordan puts in the table production-wise, but is not mind-blowing for exactly those reasons you mentioned. I even feel that the last BMTH album has a way more interesting guitar and drum sound, which is weird considering Jordan actually was pretty involved in that one too.

Heyyy Bogdan, why not listen to metalcore classic bands like Darkest Hour or Unearth?
Their best albums are usually some old ones, but both released new album in 2023-2024
Unearth - The Wretched; the Ruinous (2023)
Unearth - Bask in the Blood of Our Demons (EP) (2024)
    Darkest Hour - Perpetual | Terminal (2024)
If want to listen to a old iconic albums:
    Unearth - The March (2008)
Unearth - The Oncoming Storm (2004)
Darkest Hour - Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora (2017)
Darkest Hour - Deliver Us (2007)
Darkest Hour - Undoing Ruin (2005)
I just think that in part these bands are less visible compared to As I Lay Dying and Killswitch Engage and I think they deserve more recognition and feedback channels help more than what is more known.
If you don't plan to listen to the new AILD album at least try to listen to a new DH or Unearth album because Boundaries is NOT a substitute for AILD's style AT ALL, because a substitute for an old band can still be an old one.
(Don't get me wrong, Boundaries is fantastic and I've been listening to them since the first album thanks to you and I think we should also make them known but their "old" metalcore style is trying to sound more Hardcore Punk like Knocked Loose does too)
I also miss when you would sometimes listen to older songs/albums and not just from the same year we are on, idk
Watching your videos since 2019 :))
