    My Titan did what your describing and it needed new batteries even though the ones that were in it were testing good. One of them was bad and the other good. It was difficult to diagnose at first. I bet it's a voltage issue. Could also be a bad wire at the actuator causing intermittent bad voltage. You have done a lot of work to the truck recently and the wires are very thin and easy to break. Pull out the voltmeter and start wiggling wires to see if the voltage drops. That's where I would start. Could be you got a bad replacement actuator too. They are notoriously bad to begin with.

    These engines are great…..if you leave them stick and properly maintain them.

    Have you flash the ecu emc every time you do some upgrades or changes ?

    I feel like these issues are unfairly pointed at the truck and not the work done to it. I don't often blame modifications, but in this case, I'd blame modifications and the work you've done. After watching the EGR video, I knew this truck would have continual issues. It's OK to get professional help sometimes...

    Never in my experience have i had turbos act like that when going out. When turbos go out, signs are usually noise, black and or white smoke out the tail pipe from blown seals. What you're describing sounds to be like the wastegate/s are malfunctioning. Boost leaks are consistent so i wouldnt even consider that, but check if you want with a fog machine. My money would be on wastegate or the wastegate actuator. I have this same truck but have not even looked at the turbos so i have no clue how they operate, but if the actuator is letting go, or the springs on the wastegate return are weak or have fallen off, i can imagine these symptoms happening. aside from getting to the turbos, this should be easily diagnosable.

      Oh and if it is the actuator, one way to test is to using bailing wire to tie the wastegates closed, take it for a drive (go easy on it because it will make ALL the boost, with no control) and if it does make boost consistently, its the actuator.

      Well i just replaced the actuator last week and had it calibrated so I don't think it's that, how can I test if the Westgate is bad? Also thanks for the help

      Check the actuator arm bolt loose. When dealership installed my new actuator left bolt loose and I had similar problems with mine. Turned around and went back to dealership it was an easy fix but service writer jumped to all kinds of conclusions before checking mechanic work.

    It could be many things, turbo boost sensor, wastegate actuator ( turbo will experience cutout if over boost is detected), check for inactive codes, verify no boost piping leaks. If you are not hearing noise from the wheels in the turbo or blowing excessive smoke out the exhaust the turbos should be good. And if you decide to do the single turbo I’d look at the BorgWarner S366, it can be done with a few modifications

    mine did the same thing. Ended up being turbo speed sensor, lower turbo replacement and the turbo actuator. All replaced @ the dealership. Happened @58000. Nissan paid 70%on one repair and 50% of the other. $2100.00 and 5 weeks @ the dealership.

    Thats the small turbo start game over , i just sold my titan xd diesel Sl last week i have 104000 mile on it the same issues like yours , i plug my scanner no code no check engine light seems like nothing wrong with it one you start driving on hwy those things start making problem , the boost start going up and down and ,no boost at all and later on there is boost ,after digging under the hood for about 2 week finnaly found the problem my self, i take it to dealers and they can’t do anything no more turbo being made for that truck any more, so I decided go to junk yard and found 5 wreck titan cummins xd open the hood the turbo actuator gone and the turbo been taken so almost impossible to find , after almost 4 months sit on my garage try to find way how to get this thing back on the road i just decided let it go , it’s really sad .
    Did you try to unplug all the wired sensor and clean it first ? If not try that first some times bad electrical connection can cause that to !

    Check and see if your actuator is still attached, if it is, and it has no code, your veins could be getting stuck in the turbos themselves, but I would think that would still throw a turbo actuator code Pooaf… strange

    I'd start with mass air flow sensor, air filter and fuel filters cheapest place that cause biggest problems!

    • @kylevanzee1672
      @kylevanzee1672 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had this issue with my Nissan yet but I have owned several similar situations with my previous Duramax pickups, usually if they throw turbo codes it's the mass air flow sensor down on power won't shift right fuel filter only had the air filter be the problem once and that's because I was pushing snow with the hood in a storm in North Dakota and packed it off 😜🤣

    From what I understand the problem is between the sequential turbos. The valve that the actuator connects to in between the turbos gets stuck due to contamination. Nissan can't get that valve anywhere which forces them to replace the whole turbo assembly. You should be getting CEL codes. One in particular is P226C. In my case the temporary fix was to pull over shut the engine off and then restart and all would be fine, but as time went by the problem got worse and worse. After new turbos and actuator replacement all is fine. How many miles does your Titan XD have on it? Mine died at 60k.

      No CEL's from ezlynk? I wonder if the tuning is suppressing the CEL's? My issues started after returning truck to stock setup.
