@@ak14619 also probably want to cut off the turn stops or you gain nothing in turning radius which is the bigger benefit to the coil design. i mean my front end rides great with leafs but it turns like a bus.
the rust jacking in between the leafs on your front leaf springs is pretty insane. you should put new leaf springs on your to do list for the front at least. It wont be long before one of the cracks, turns sideways and cuts your tires. ..
That truck is awesome and your choice of what you did to it was stellar. Your narration is top notch. Great video. I'm glad you are very happy with it.
Thank you for showing the struggle. Most mechanics feel ashamed with the problems they encounter so they leave that out of the video. As a mechanic myself, those are the moments that make me feel the most mechanically inclined.
Your truck riding harsh is mostly bc if the leaf springs, they seem to be really flat instead of arched lien they should be, also possibly replacing those with a smaller leaf pack and adding a block underneath to have a 6” lift line you currently have will improve your ride a lot, they do sell 6” lifted leaf springs, I had the same truck and I loved the way it ride with the 6” leaf springs
Looks like you got a lot of undercarriage work and restoration to do. Those leafs are in bad shape both with surface rust and the fact they are no longer conformed to the proper geometry. The entirety of the front end steering linkage likely also needs replacement with either new OEM parts, or, since its on a lift and everything, beefed up aftermarket components, as you WILL end up getting death wobble with how much wear and tear there is up there. In regards to the leaf springs, you actually have two options, you can either get new ones, OR you can find a coil sprong conversion kit that will GREATLY improve the ride, i also know there are axle swaps out there so that you can throw the wheel spacers out entirely and be done with the possible dangers they impose.
I've got an '01 7.3 that is definitely worthy for 'best looking' consideration; Harvest Gold Metallic Super Duty Crew Cab Long Bed with a matching Gemtop Camper Shell (barn doors, side access doors/windows, etc), Banks performance upgrades, Method 305HD black wheels and custom Pendleton lined interior.
I've had 5 superdutys this era I used for plowing and pulling besting the crap out of them all diesels .....with that being said I've never seen front leafs that messed up bro! Replace them asap or that front axle is coming out of that rig!!!
it wouldn't have ever broken.. It is built to have strength in the vertical axis-- but not horizontal, which is why it broke while hitting the little flange sideways. but that would never happen in the vertical direction.
So Funny ! Ive been watching your channel before and after I picked up my 02 C-5 Blk on Blk 6spd and already had The 01 7.3 F-250 ..6in lift 37.5 tires Faulken Wildpeak A/T With the Bilstiens ..Dont forget the BDS Fox steering stabilizer !! Good Times Thanks for the C-5 Advice !!
Whey did you mount your shocks upside down? As you can see in the beginning of the video, the boots go UP; that way they are not torn apart when you drive over little things like sticks or small tree limbs, etc.
Nice Production and Mods!!! I will be in the process (when I get home form a work project) to start working on my 2005 F350 Power Stroke (got stolen less than 24 hours after buying it!) but its fixable and I will make it better than ever! loving the direction of your build, new sub here!
Hey man love your videos like usual please let me know if you don’t want those old wheels and tires because mine are trashed and I’m in nh already and have the same truck and would love to get those off of you
It honestly looks like a stock right height. My truck was the same height and it was a factory ride height, only difference I see is you got more leafs springs in the front and yours is smaller then mine was😂
DUDE!! get rid of that front leaf spring set up, you can buy a coil spring axel off of 05 and later super duty’s and swap them pretty easy, if you don’t do that please get new leaf springs in the front those things aren’t far from breaking in half
350, 7.3, 4x4, 2 tone, marker lights... I prefer the Obs 7.3s but no doubt a nice truck. Such a shame we live in the NE. I was planning on my 2017 duramax to be my last new truck ever but I think Pa winter has different plans..
Glad I sold my 7.3l with 250k miles on it for 12 grand while I could while prices were high. So many parts were worn out it woulda cost me probably like 12 grand in parts and labor to get it up to snuff. I did that poor young kid dirty. Sometimes I feel bad about it. Good video though!

Looking good! Please get some oil on that frame :) That poor bedside. I have an 03 that did the same thing. My 14 6.7 diesel almost did the same thing, but I love that truck, so I put new bedsides on it.

Part 2 and the reveal is now LIVE! Watch it here: th-cam.com/video/1rlfmxsaars/w-d-xo.html
You should be worried about the rust and not the shocks brother
That leaf pack you got in the front is serious I can only imagine how rough that thing ride
Most of your ride issue is coming from those leaf springs, you got a lot of leafs under there more than factory
And terrible shape
Yeah I was gonna comment this, mine has like 5 leafs this is waaaaay too many
New springs is the easiest way but to really get the best, its good to upgrade to 6.0 power stroke coils.
@@ak14619 also probably want to cut off the turn stops or you gain nothing in turning radius which is the bigger benefit to the coil design. i mean my front end rides great with leafs but it turns like a bus.
Was thinking the same. Poor man’s leveling job maybe? I put X code OEM springs on mine to level it off.
Replace the leaf springs too, it will make a huge difference.
the rust jacking in between the leafs on your front leaf springs is pretty insane. you should put new leaf springs on your to do list for the front at least. It wont be long before one of the cracks, turns sideways and cuts your tires. ..
Also that is FAR from a stock pack and if he wants a better ride should get a more appropriate pack.

Everyones talking about replacing the leafs, theoretically you could do the 05-07 coil conversion if you really care

i have the bilstein 4600 series on my 04 5.4 f350 and i absolutely love them!!!
Really nice looking OEM plus build man. Get that frame cleaned up and that bedside. You’ll have yourself a real beauty!
Looks awesome. Must be interesting to go from driving the truck to driving the Corvette!
It’s probably a good thing that the shock mount broke. It could’ve broke when you’re driving the future which would be way more headache.
it wouldn't have ever broken.. It is built to have strength in the vertical axis-- but not horizontal, which is why it broke while hitting the little flange sideways. but that would never happen in the vertical direction.
That leaf pack woof
Excited for the next video! I hope you go back with a 6.7 in it
I have the same spacer and wheel setup except I ordered the pointed lug nuts and it looks sick

Great video man!! Loving the look already!!!
I really do love those rims you put on there. I'm buying a very similar set tomorrow.
You should invest in a air hammer brother. It will be your go to tool for those stuck stubborn bolts.
Awesome seeing someone local doing the videos! Keep it up love from mass!
Springs really look bad brother. Be careful!
That's weird because I'm also building the best 7.3 out there 😂 love to see it because they're all dying out
Hey have you notice or have any wheel vibration from installing spacers
What were they thinking with that many leaf springs in the front....that's crazy
It's called heavy duty. The 350's came with heavy duty and some came with the ambulance package. That is more heavy duty
Some need to have a heavy plow hanging way off the front.. SO you need that extra weight capability
Are the front leaf springs shot🤔
Great video! But bro…. The rust separating the leaf springs is very terrifying! You need to replace asap! Good luck!
I didn’t even know you were from New Hampshire. That’s amazing! NH GANG

My front leafs broke on my 2002 7.3L... They were super cheap and easy to replace though; like $80 per side.
Love the video 😂😂. Dude keep up the good work your content is a blast to watch.
How far do the tires sit beyond the fenders? Looks like an inch or so.
C5 and a C7? Nice choice of vehicles! 👍
Hub centric refers to that raised rim that goes around your hub. Not simply that they bolt to the hub.
Great video, thinking seriously about doin this exact mod to me f350
What size tire r u running?
I have a sick one. Hydro steer. 8" lift. But im going bronco. Gas is my old friend.
I would’ve definitely put a coat of POR-15 on everything in the wheel well while you had stuff off but hey clean truck all in all.
men of culture i’m everything you ever desired farm girl and lover of fords watching from jamaica 🇯🇲 BIG UP
Wow there is a lot of springs on the front
Wow you got the best father in the world. Beautiful truck you got
Well done🎉
where did you get lift kit from
Do y’all on the East coast always install shocks upside down? Not saying it’s wrong just never seen that.
i love the yellowstone clip
Those are pretty janky looking leaves

What size bolt was that bottom front shock mount you got from the parts store ?
4 link with air and it will ride without your fillings shaking out. Leaf springs are for buggys from the 1800s. 4 link for both ends.
The god ol Rhode Island lol great video and god bless your car for traveling over the Mt Hope Bridge
Also that is a crazy amount of leafs on that front end
what i learned from your video is that i'm never gonna modify a vehicle unless its the newest generation and not rusted
that's a really nice jacket my man
What size tire you running

Not only are those leafs rust jacked to heck. They’re also flat. Totally pounded out lol should have a slight curve upwards…like a “U”
King ranch stickers on flaps next??
Get rid of some of those leafs not all but some and put some helper bags under it and the ride will blow your mind.
My guy you need pb blaster asap
Those leafs are toast. Replace those. For sure not factory… way to many of them in there

Holy squeezed leaf packs Batman!
leaving another comment about the rust in your leaf springs... take them apart break it off with a needle scaler and re assemble.
“The world”😂😂😂 bro that’s a very strong statement 😂😂😂
Those front leaf springs are SCARY rusty and look like they came off a dump truck. No wonder it rides harsh.
What wheel did you pull off it? Was it Alcoa or something
Damn i love that i like in az and both my trucks have always been az trucks ( it kills paint but no rust👍)
replace those front axle stabilizer shocks too
Those front leafs are so worn out

waddup brotha 👋
You installed the front shocks backwards, dust boot should be in the upper side
You need new springs and the duals would have been nice
