This is fantastic, Hope you continue making guides for BAR. Easily the best on the platform because of how much info you pack into such a short amount of time.
Thanks, yea i like to keep them short and to the point. Does mean that i dont include 100% of the niche things but as long as you get the gist enough to play the game, that's the main thing
A theme suggestion for the next video: what the symbols on the units in the build bar mean. And a video on how to "play BAR chess" would also be very explanatory. Exemple: why Riot tanks counters bots. It would be a bit of work but it would be very useful. thanks
Great video. I love the intelligence system to this game. Goes so much further than send a working into your opponent's base and see what they're building.
Something i noticed is that all radars line of sight are not the same. ARM vs COR with basic radar have different center point (where the icon is located) and it seems the line of sight is measured from that point so one radar is better than the other because of its center point is way higher. Other cool stuff is that LLTs have a center point too that acts as the 'target' for enemies while the turret itself have its line of sight AND shooting sight at the top of the turret. You can see this info by clicking ALT+V. This means that putting an LLT at the start of a small hill would cover the center point so it cant be shot until units get past the hill meanwhile the turret can fire because its turret line of sight is at the top. The radar reports the icon center point and displays its true height so you could potentially detect what unit it is based on how high it is. I.E. The radar wobble seems to be horizontal only.
I think there is more to uncover here. Unless I'm wrong (haven't played much BAR but TA) A jammer unit in an air transport is still jamming so you can protected your air convoy from radar. And we have the adjacent field of sonars (and I see they now are combined on T1).
Hey I was ill when I recorded this as you can hear, I'll do a more advanced one later. I was most the basics of stealth and cloaking I wanted to get across
Only thing that wasn't made exactly clear is if a jammer jams everything beyond the position it is jamming based on line of sight of the enemy radar. for example, if I have a radar to the west, and an opponent has a jammer east of that radar, does that jammer jam everything further east behind the jammer itself? Thus blocking the full line of sight of the radar? Or does a jammer only jam the small circle around itself?
Hey, So the jammer only blocks what is in its "bubble" of jamming. So in your example you could see the things behind the jammer's circle. just not what's in it.
Not grunts, as that are attack units but scouts like ticks yes and that AOE afterwards also kills them till it dies down. So it creates like a no go area for scouts for a period of time
I still don't get what "stealth" means. There a few stealthy units, but does this mean they don't appear on the radar but only appear on true sight? is this kinda like "unit-wide radar jamming"? Or is the unit "cloaked" but only visible on radar? Why is cloaked commander visible on radar but not commando bots?
Its really quite simple. A unit with the Stealth modifier cannot be detected or tracked by radar, so they will never be shown as a dot in the fog of war. They can still be seen by a unit's or building's Line of Sight though. Alternatively, for comparison: A cloaked unit becomes undetectable to Line of Sight, but it can still be detected by Radar. Cloaked units can still be revealed if they get too close to an enemy though, breaking their camouflage.
So think of it as three types. Cloak Jamming Steath. Cloak stops physical seeing but still on radar. Jammer stops radar but can still physical see. Stealth is a combo of both and can't be see by anything but the intrusion system or getting close
@@Requiem_tv Hold on - the last part there. Jammer is the ability for a unit to make other units around it not be seen on radar. Stealth is the ability for a unit itself to not be seen on radar but no area effect. A jammer unit is implicitly a stealth unit (when jamming is toggled to ON for the unit). It does not imply anything with cloak. A unit needs both the cloak and stealth abilities to by itself only be detected by intrusion detection at a distance.
Most Jammer do indeed have a aoe of jamming like shown in the video. And what you have explained is correct. I'm on holiday with spotty Internet atm so trying to respond to comments when I get 5 mins
Very solid info. Thanks for this! I knew there was more to the "intelligence" system in the game. This goes a long way.
Glad it helped! Let me know if you have any other aspects you'd like explained

I had noooo idea how the Juno worked due to its odd subtitle and now I wish I'd figured it out earlier. Badass!
Awesome glad I could Help

Nice idea. I'm on holiday atm but will have a look at it when I'm Back.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it :) And yea Bars system takes abit of getting used to but is so much better than older games
Supcom: Place down an Omni-sensor. It counters terrain, stealth, cloaking, etc.
B.A.R.: You wanna see cloak units? Master calculus 3 first. 😛
Yea it's funny going back to supcom and then over building radars thinking I need los like bar then remembering ah no it's magic circle

Did you make a more advanced one after all?? @@Requiem_tv
I believe transported units are 'deactivated' and that includes their radar or jamming. A transported commando for example can be spotted on radar.
Great work 😀
Thanks! 👍
Good to see the ARM and CORE Commanders chillin' and jammin' together.
Was afraid that little conflict of theirs could ruin their friendship. 🙃
Thank you!! Needed this
Glad it could help 🙂
Great video bro. I was confused. Sometimes my invisible commander was seen by enemy units and I wondered why. Thanks to you now I know 👊🏻
Yea I had this when I started playing with sniper bots. I was so confused. So I thought this may help others not have my same confusion
Very good video thankyou!
Glad it was helpful!

i learned!
Glad it helped victor🙂
Hi does the pinpointer radar enhancer stack and if so to what extent like 100% accuracy or?
Hi Travis, they improve by like 30% per one but have a exponential drop off, so after 3 they are not worth building

Anything specific you'd like?

And how do you protect against Juno?
You can't I'm afraid. They are expensive though so if your opponent invests in one you should have more units than them
