The wagon looks like a fun build
I had a 1960 Chrysler Imperial Crown, 4 Dr, 413, Push button auto trans and it had an oval steering wheel.........was a real nice ride......in 1977......
I'm amazed at thr painting @ 4:37 - do you mean to tell us there's an artist in Kansas who paints anything other than scenes from the Wizard of Oz or close-up still lifes of Sunflowers? I would never have guessed ... All teasing aside, I'm not surprised to learn you're a patron of the arts, Mr. Goodpliers!
My brother ordered and purchased a 1955 Windsor coupe, black/w white top and red interior. Beautiful! My other brother had a white ‘60 Imp. four door HT. It had the swivel seats. Very cool car.
At the dawn of my memory I recall riding a school bus, daily, that past a billboard showing a 1957 Plymouth. the catch line was "Suddenly, it's 1960"
a few years later when I biked to school. a neighbor had a '59 Plymouth convertible for sale. Each day I sneaked a little closer for a look. It had everything "swing out" bucket seats, oval steering wheel. Finally, in an excess boldness, I open the hood. There it was, dual four barrels and an air filter reading "Super Commando"
Wow, if that still exists it's probably a $100k car

I've got a 1963 Imperial that I love, I've had it since 1982 and put over 200,000 miles on it. It now has about 350,000 miles on it total. I put most of the miles on it while in the Marine Corps. I took it everywhere, my Marines called Sgt. Sherrill's Batmobile. 👍❤🇺🇸

The taillights on the 1960 Plymouths look very similar to those on the 1956 model. The difference is that the fins were bigger in 1960.
Love old wagons and I'm fond of 4 doors,all that extra room is nice
The first two collector cars I bought were a 1963 Fairlane 4 door and a 1963 Fairlane wagon. I'm amazed at the growing collector appeal of four door cars, especially pillarless hardtops.

Man I’m in love with the 59 - 61 imperial , Newport !! The 61 Newport is my high school car, sure wish I still had it !!
They are great cars! This Imperial is in worse shape than it looks, but I want to revive it.

if the doors are not locked on the Imperial, here's what I've done on several years, on my '59 crown 4dr ht concentrated water spray in every crevice between window seals and door, then try 'rumba' bump with hip or butt at door handle area, hard enough to move door on weatherstrip (not enough to dent), if that fails follow up with Liquid Wrench or WD40 , try to get in doors near straight down, then bump again, took about 5 days of trying once or twice a day then drivers door popped to half latch and was able to spray more in gap by window, the other doors, got in car and used shoulder while holding handle open. The Imperials are pickier than other Mopar, my '66 Crown 4dr right rear door sticks if not lubed every 3 months. Their power windows quit during long down time, if car drives, go up and down roughest road around, windows have come back, my '64 Imp convertible left door had been stuck for years when I got it, used 'bump' system, came open in about an hour. Currently have 6 Imp's, 2 '57 Belvederes, '56 DeSoto.
I remember my parents having a Plymouth like that when I was like 5 yrs old. It has a push button on the dash automatic? My dad didn't like it. We didn't have it long. I thought the fins were awesome though!! I was a kid remember sitting in the back seat with my sister's.
Cool cars , love wagons I'm in Illinois and most of our yards are disappearing quickly , partly cause our patina is more wholy , lol , thanks
We call it "hard patina" LOL. I think property values have a little to do with yards disappearing. I hear of them folding because the land around them increases in value and pushes them out.
I love Imperials. Any year, any model.
They really built some incredible automobiles.
I, too, am a MOPAR fan. First car was a '52 Plymouth. Kept it twenty years. By the way, there's a '56 Plym in a boneyard not far from my home. It may have some "unobtainium" parts you're looking for. You're right about those brakes. Terribly hard to find original parts, quite expensive if you do. How about an Aspen/Volare front suspension with disc brakes? Hmmmmm, now you got my mind racing!

The Imperial painting is Warhol-esque. I like.
I love Aaron Jackson Bowman's work. He is my favorite contemporary painter. Fine art is my other love after antique vehicles, and that painting was a perfect melding of the two. I have shot an entire interview with him, and in it he tells of the 20th century artists that he draws inspiration from. I plan to put it on a future channel, Artistic Voices!

My favorite forward cars are the 57-58 Desoto and the 57 and 60 Chrysler.

Love your '59 Imperial, I've got a '60 Imperial sedan with the swivel seats. Struggling to find the passenger fender eyebrow molding, not easy to find trim for a one year only design.
I used to have a 1961, and my friend Joe has a '58 and a '62 at his place. They are shown in my "Mopars at the Rust Ranch" video. I'm not aware of any 1960 models currently. It's tough getting ahold of this stuff for one year only designs.

My dad had a 59 Imperial when I was a boy. He put two transmissions in it then gave up on it.
If you lucky to find a 1960 Plymouth Savoy, 2 door sedan with aftermarket fender skirts, and a 6 cylinder engine and standard 3 speed manual transmission.
I have that.
I've got Belvedere 2dr hdtp V-8 3 spd stick. Fender skirts are foxcraft not the stainless. In my video's.

Good eye, yes, I used Ford pickup wheels for "rollers", same bolt circle
The flairs of all 4 fenders look as if Dracula had placed his cape out in front his intended direction & then the fenders were to merely react to the flow.
I knew someone who had a 55 Plymouth savoy that had a v8 with automatic transmission.
I have a 55 New Yorker wagon. Even rarer than the Windsor. The frame and floors are in amazing shape but the body is pretty rusty. On mine, the panel beneath the tail gate is in rough shape. I was told that it probably won't be fixable. Do you have or know of any yards that might have a donor car that might replace mine. The 56 and Desoto of 55 and 56 had the same design and would work as well.
I love these old cars that are solid like yours. I wish they could all be brought back to life.
That car came from Webb's in Ellicott Colorado. A Desoto wagon sat next to it. Unfortunately those cars all got crushed a few years back - a sad waste, really. I am not aware of any others being parted at this time

Love the 60 Plymouth 2 door that car is awesome and in really good shape you should check out Cold War Motors channel he is a big fan of the Forward look cars and he just got done restoring a 1960 Plymouth Fury 2 door car he spliced the bottom of a 60 Dodge Dart to replace the rotten stuff of the Fury

Unfortunately most of the 59 is different. I think it's going away complete to a buddy of mine who collects 59 Dodges

My father bought one of those but sold it before I could drive. He bought it used and it needed some kind of repair so he sold it. That was about 1964 or 1965. I really liked the design of if. I still think about that 2 door.

That '55 wagon is sweet, as well as that '59 Imperial - can you get inside through the trunk??
Unfortunately the edge of the trunk has been beat up from someone trying that already. Rear seat cushions can only be removed from the interior. I've gone through a lot of back seats to open trunks, but unfortunately it doesn't work the other way around.

Check out my other videos, in the first "Rust Ranch" video you will see half a dozen Ford trucks at that place. The only 4WD ones there that I'm aware of are 1966 models.
And be sure to subscribe to the channel and check back at my later videos, there is a place I have shot footage at that has probably close to two dozen 60s and 70s Ford trucks!

No point saving them if you don't fix them
Most of what I buy is crusher bound otherwise. Later in spring we have several rebuild projects going on that I will be showing on the channel. Stay tuned!
On the 59 Dodge Coronet there is a You tube Channel named Auto Auction Rebuilds, He has a 59 Dodge Coronet that currently is being restored by a man that also has a TH-cam channel called Weird Beard Auto Sales, They may need some parts from this car! In my opinion Stephen King picked the wrong car for Christine! The 58 Plymouth looks like a pussy cat compared to the 59 Dodge! The 59 Coronet looks absolutely sinister! Also the 60 Plymouth two door post there is a TH-cam channel called Cold War Motors out of Alberta Canada that is run by a man named Scott, He has literally built a 1960 Plymouth Fury out of the remains of several cars that is looking absolutely beautiful! He rescued it out of a horse corral where it had resided sunk in up to the rocker panels in Horse shit! I doubt that he would travel that far to pick up any of your forward look cars but there is always a chance! He's trying to build at least one of each year!
Have been watching all three of those channels. I love what they are doing. It's incredible what they find just laying around in Canada. The knowledge of those guys, and their determination to figure things out, plus the theatrical aspect of Cold War Motors really makes the channel. I love Dean's humor and persona. Great great guys!

Why take parts from these cars when you can restore them?? And why take parts when nos parts exist?? Only in america I suppose! In sweden we do not leave old cars in the scrap yard and wait for renovation we renovate them so send them to us and it will be nicer than when they came out of the factory, thats a fact!!
I would consider all of these viable to be restored, though some would take a lot of work. It all depends what the next buyer wants to achieve!

People who do nothing with these cars are idiots. Sell them for fix them. Get them on the road.
