1956 Plymouth Savoy Barn Find

- This 1956 Plymouth Savoy had been sitting next to Louise in a storage building. It was bought new and used as a grocery getter and kid hauler until the late 1970s. It was last registered in 1980 and I suspect that it hadn't been moving much for the last few years of the 70s.
With a 277 Polysphere engine, 3 on the tree and a 3.77 rear gear she is no speed demon.
I've brought here home for and evaluation and I'll decide in the next few days to either fix her up or send her down the road. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Beautiful car, Love 50s Cars in original, unrestored condition.
Thanks sir, she's fun to drive
Love the Savoy. Going to be a great project for you or someone. Nothing wrong with 4 doors. I hope my next mopar is a 4 door.
Yeah, I have no problem with 4 doors either, as a matter of fact I really dig wagons too.
She would polish up. Nice find 👍🏻🇦🇺💯my dad had a Black 55 Plymouth with red trim before that he had a48 Plymouth . It’s still worth keeping though getting harder to fine .
Black and Red, great combination.
Love the old "crew cab" MOPARS. Twice the fun of the 2 doors. Ps. In search of "serviceable" '56 Plymouth hood ornament.
Yep, pretty cool old car.
Thanks for the detailed video. Going to pull the drums on my '56 Fury. Now I've got an idea of what I'll get myself into.
Very cool, good luck with your Fury. Yeah, there's a bit of a learning curve with these older ladies.
❤❤❤
Thanks
I remember when the 1955 Chrysler products were introduced being in H.S. at the time. Such an improvement over their previous models. Now in hindsight I can also see how handsome the 1954 models were. They seem to look better now compared to the rocket ship look of GM cars of the period.
I agree with everything that you said.
The knob is for the seat adjustment.
Thanks Bill, yeah I figured that out.
What an awesome survivor, first thing id do is steam it off and clean up the interior and the engine bay, then see if it will turn over and start
Thanks David, there's a whole bunch more videos about ole Thelma. I've got around 900 miles on her now. Thanks

1967,68 got a 56 savoy 2 door light blue power filter 60000 miles $400 drove it to school till Trans was leaking to bad traded in for a 66 coronet 500 convertible
Very cool. The '66 Coronet is my favorite.
My mom had a 55 Plymouth Plaza that was red and white 4 door. It had the red poly and automatic on the dash. I drove a lot of miles in that car using the speaker cover for my steering wheel lol.
Funny, the things that we used to do to keep them on the road.
My dad had a car just like this one
Very cool
Glad to see I'm not the only one in need of Cheater glasses
At least we made it this far that we need the cursed things!
Thanks
The 56 is pretty cool. I subbed to Your channel back when You put out the First video of Louise.
I have to say, I'm pretty bummed that You're selling it. The 62 to 65 B Bodies are at the top of My Favorites list.
I have a 65 Coronet 500 hardtop project.
Yeah I know, I'm going to miss Louise too. She'll be a girlfriend that I'll think about from time to time! I'm sure that she'll be back on occasion. I dig the '65 Coronet. Thanks for hanging in there with us!
That's a nice grab, and that poly engine is not bad. The heads resemble the LS head of today's who knows what happened if old MA Mopar keeped going for power instead of fuel economy, but it's up to you. Chuck, what happens I think it cool.
Yes Bernie, I'd really like to dig into that Poly. I'll get here cleaned up and go from there.
@House of Mopar It will be an exciting build can't wait, Chuck SLEEPER 🤞
@@bernierezny8156 We'll see how this plays out. Thanks
Hi. Your video if the Savoy has been a great help to me. I am restoring My father's 1956 4 door Savoy here in India. Did source parts from the US. Finding it difficult to get my hands on a Steering wheel and the horn ring assembly, wondering if you could help me get one would be extremely grateful.
I could see what I can do, but these things aren't exactly growing on trees here either. Especially the horn ring.
I hate snow and I hate cold weather
What do you mean? It's awesome.
NOT
I never heard of a Savoy. You are running out of storage area for cars. Also going back to left hand lug nuts.
True statement on the space issue. Back then the trim levels were Plaza, Savoy and Belvedere.
Why ? No offense, but ? Admittedly I know nothing about the value, but I can see the work ahead…..Love……Sentimental…? Thanks for …
I'm still driving her.
*CHUCK!*
Woah hold it, stop the presses - were you serious about selling Louise?
Given what you've been through with her, what you've done to her and the personal
effects you've bestowed upon her, I *know* you hadn't intended to sell her up until
now.
I think I detect regret in your voice even when you say you're selling her now, eh?
Lookit, the Savoy is cool and all that and it will make someone a neat project for sure,
but it's obvious your heart ain't into that car - and you know as well as I do if your
heart isn't into one, it's not going to get the same degree of time or attention as one
you have a passion for - like Louise.
Are you sure about all this?
- Ed on the Ridge
Hey Ed. Yeah I'll let her go, it's probably just as well. I love driving that car but I've got a pile of money into her and I'd be making a slight profit at this point. There are plenty of other money pits out there to pour dollars into. Don't despair.
@@Chuck_House_of_Mopar I wish only that I was in a position to make an offer on her, my friend...
@@moparedtn Yeah, I know. She's a sweet old girl. Thanks Ed.
MOPAR or no car
