  • How to unblock windscreen washer jets on a Mini One F56. Simple job using minimal tools, but you have to be patient with the wheel arch liner as its fiddly.

    Thanks for the video, it was super helpful. Just an fyi for anyone else, I managed to do this without removing the wheel and liner, I just turned the wheel fully to allow access, removed the circle panel and opened the bonnet to help aid visually, it was a little fiddly to unclip and clip the motor back in, but all in all took about 15 min.

    Thank you so much for the video. Saved myself £120. It was a very simple job. On a 2022 Mini the pump was even easier to remove just lift it up and didn’t need to unclip any cables.
    Only issue was I needed to buy 4 replacement black plastic plugs for the ones that were hit with the nail punch. I couldn’t see a way to get them back in using the original ones as they had deformed.

    Thanks for the video, I've just repaired mine without removing any screws, just removing the round plastic piece and carefully both the jets motor and filter. The video was very clarifying for locating the filter place.

    Awesome info, thanks! Almost packed up for the day suspecting the motor, went up for a coffee and found this, popped back and the bung filter was slimed.
    I used a hose spraygun on jet and flushed it through for good measure. Worked a treat, thank you! 😎🤘

    Thank you for uploading video,having watched it and understanding how the washer pump releases and clips back in,I put front drivers side wheel on full lock giving me plenty of access to round access panel that twists off,once off you can see pump where you can pull it back towards yourself gently and there is the problem filter!

    That last tip in your video is the secret to a zero frustration fix. Remove the wheel arch liner with the underneath bit still attached. Goes off and on really easily. I also used an air duster along with soap and water to clean the filter. That also helps move the gunk.

    Very useful video- thank you. It was good of you to take off more of the wheel arch liner for the purposes of the video, but I managed to do it by releasing just the 4 lower poppers and the 4 x 8 mm bolts.

    Managed to also do this without removing wheel or jacking up car. I just turned the wheel fully to one side and removed the 4 bottom retention pins and a single screw near the wheel arch. This was enough to peel back the shroud and access the pump and filter. It was fiddly but possible

    Very good! You made that look simple. The extension was a ‘wibble’ bar because it wobbles. Thank you

    A comment below says you can remove the round inspection panel, normally used to replace the foglight bulbs, and access the pump and filter this way. Did you try doing this before removing the whole wheel arch liner? I was going to try doing it myself but don't have a jack or socket set so if it can be done without removing the wheel and arch liner I'll give it a go. Thanks

    • @amateurtorque6709
      @amateurtorque6709  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't try it, but I'm sure its possible. However its best if you remove the wheel, so you can get a better look in anyway. I think you should buy a socket set, it will always come in useful.

  • @HopLowHops
    @HopLowHops หลายเดือนก่อน

    You don’t have to take the fender liner out at all. Remove the wheel, and the the circular access panel at the front of the liner twists off. Then you can reach in with one hand and remove the plastic piece with the hoses and then pull the filter out. There is a slit on the underside of the car in front of the wheel, where all of the washer fluid will drain out. You could probably do it without removing the wheel, but it would be tight and it only takes a few minutes to remove the wheel.

    Bit different lay-out on the 2022 model but all went well thanks to this video. If you have a 2022 model, the plastic clips on the bottom of the arch are single use. Four new clips only costs about €3 at the BMW dealer.

    What do you call those centre pin clips?
    The ones where you pushed the centre with the punch to release them?
    I can only find Phillips head replacements

    Hi thanks for the video, would it be still a clogged little filter if I get the rear washer spraying out as normal but no joy at the front windshield?

    • @amateurtorque6709
      @amateurtorque6709  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say probably, it maybe the rear motor is still sucking it through somehow, perhaps because it gets used less than the front.

    • @carlmason1456
      @carlmason1456 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the motor was working it was just blocked up. If it isn't making any noise it could be either the motor has gone, or maybe a break in the wire somewhere, or it could be so blocked up it just won't work.
