The amount of Joy you have after the stage 1 tune is what it's all about wait til go up to stage 2 with a KO4 turbo, and some basic bolt ons you hit smile matter non-stop. Have fun.
MAINTENANCE: If your GTi is100k+ miles, sooner than later the following needs to be addressed... DSG flywheel, timing chain and tensioner, water pump, carbon buildup cleaning (and probably the injectors as they get clogged w carbon), balance shafts, pcv, coils, DSG fluids and at some point the intake manifold and oil pump. Other repairs that will follow, front and rear wheel bearings.
Got a cc with 140,000 on it, can confirm, did water pump, needa do front wheel bearings, no chain slap yet , scraped out a shit ton of carbon chunks on valve stems , blasted a lil with crc valve/ turbo cleaner, soaked injectors in fuel system cleaner for a couple days, definitely need a new clutch soon (6 speed🤙) just put in coils even tho only one went , instead of replacing whole pcv system you can just buy the rubber diaphragm spring and plastic snap on cap off ebay for like $15 ,never heard of balance shaft problems tho?

I have a 2010 gti 4 door as well, was the tune worth it. and I don't own a Windows PC only Mac is that capable since I see that you used your Mac. I have seen your videos as well it's worth it. I am going to go stage 1 but im debating on getting the downpipes from IE and then going straight stage 2* or have both of them do stage 1 for daily driving and stage for my Sunday drives to conserve gas.. what have you done since this video and are you planning to go stage 2?
Catless downpipe will be very raspy with a lot of drone. Stage 2 will need a DS tune as well, unless 6m, and that needs a hardware upgrade on the clutch. Stage 1 can be just the tune, you can do an intake, but that imo is a waste money. I modified the stock airbox, did a square opening on the side right under the air filter. Near the front grill, it has like a grid, I removed the small ribs, it can be taken out to work on it. Fully stage 2 means front mount intercooler (I did the replace stock with an eBay IC 3", downpipe [recommend catted]. If it is DSG, it is a MUST to do the DSG tune and if possible, put fresh dsg fluid, if you do not do the DSG tune the clutch pads will slip and will eat the transmission, and start throwing all kinds of trans codes. I am stage 2 with the 91 octane tune, but I use 93 octane, just as a safety net. Recommend replace the spark plugs one step colder to be safe. Do your oil changes every 3 to 4k miles, 10w-40 synthetic. *if you look at his other videos, he sold this car.
If you have the DSG(auto version of the GTI) the tune will be fine. Just get a dsg tune with it, IE, APR and others provide it. It will add an extra 3-400 but the performance will be there

The battery wasnt properly hooked up so the whole time the cars battery was being drained when tuning it. We just used cables and jumpstarted the car.
