  • This is an Alfa 164 Super 3L 24V with a Holset Turbo and Megasquirt Engine Management.
    It is runing with 12PSIs with 400HP and 55Kg of torque.
    The road test was done on raining day, so it lost traction.

    Mio padre aveva la 164 2.0 v6 turbo 24v nera metallizzata. Un mostro di macchina. Ricordo ancora le vacanze, i viaggi e le giornate a mare fatte con quella auto. Mio padre è stato sempre un tipo tranquillo ma delle volte quando qualcuno con qualche Mercedes o bmw voleva fare il fenomeno con una mezza accelerata spazzava via tutti in un batti baleno. Una ripresa e una velocità inaudita. All'epoca L'unica macchina che poteva contendere con lei era la lancia Thema ferrari.

      Ai tempi avevo la Thema 8.32. Tra l'altro il precedente proprietario aveva fatto fare qualche lavoretto, mi pare avesse bancato 250/260 cavalli. In autostrada mai nessuno è riuscito a tenermi testa... BMW serie 5, mercedes 190 Turbo, Maserati Biturbo.. Sopra i 160 si allontanava nello specchietto. L'unica è stata una 164. Non so se fosse la 3.0 o la Turbo, ma penso fosse proprio quest'ultima con anche un bel giro di vite sulla wastgate per aumentare la pressione. Siamo arrivati a 220, in molto poco tempo a dire il vero, e niente, eravamo praticamente pari ma con il muso era più avanti lui. Gran macchina.

    It is a Holset HX40 (the big one), with an exhaust AR of 1.0
    It is runing on Water Cooler (not intercooler) and the engine manament (Bosch Motronic) was swaped to Megasqirt PRO.
    Clutch is a multidisk clutch (180mm x 3 disk)
    Video was done on a rain, this is the reason because you dont see WOT acceleations on 2nd and 3rd gear (lost traction)

    By the way since this video (1.5 year ago) the car received some upgrades and it is running so much better:
    All Engine wired was replaced by new wires (they come with the new ECU : MS3 Pro)
    New ECU : MS3 Pro (Megasquirt)
    Now we are reading the CAM sensor and working at Sequential injection (at video time, car was runing in wasted spark and staged injection)
    New clutch, with the power increase due to this changes , the old clutch dead, and we added a new multi disc clutch.
    I hope to find a way to record a new video with the new car performance

      How about the torque ? Actually I ve made à GTV 916 with à 3.0 Gt2876r turbo, and a 6 pads ceramettalic clutch and It sloding between 3000 to 5000 and not WOT. Écu i's KMS MP25, big intercooler and V6 2.0 turbo cams. How i's your torque at 1bar of boost? And finally what pistons ? Mines are QV lower on a lathe and stck rods but I have New ones for an another evo.

      @@nicolasrougier606 Torque is amaizing it comes after 3600 RPM, I dont know how much it is bat weels spins in 2nd and 3rd gear. Im moving from 235/40/17 to 225/55/17 . I hope this helps me to put the power on the floor.

    Mah!!! Sarà ma il 3litri turbo nn esisteva... il 3 litri era aspirato V6 12 valvole dell'ingegnere Busso (v6busso) poi portato a 210 CV e successivamente con 24 valvole a 230 CV montato anche sulla Q4.... I motori sovralimentati erano 2 litri inizialmente 4 cilindri in linea e successivamente fu introdotto il V6 turbo con turbina T3 della Garrett.

    Right now Im runing with a multi disk Clutch and the new problem is to put the power on the ground... Probably I will need a Q2 or Quife differential.
    I will upload a new video with the new powerflex bushes , because in 3rd and 4th gear it is impossible to drive...

      Si la lleve a unos especialistas en bombas en chivilcoy (Argentina) que hacen bombas para competicion, le agregaron un lobulo mas y le dieron mas cuerpo a la base , creo que le agregaron 1.5 cm mas. Cualdo la entregan hacen la medicion correspondiente

    L'avevamo verde bottiglia 3 mila turbo. Era troppo bella.
    A pensare che mio padre la rottamo per comprare una 166 2.0 t.spark.
    Che fece solamente 107 mila km e si ruppe l'albero motore. Ci dissero che uscì difettosa di fabbrica.
    A paragone di comodità la 166 era più una macchina tranquilla e da viaggio, stabile e spaziosa.
    La 164 era più una vettura da sgassate e divertimento.

      Mio padre aveva la 164 2.0 v6 turbo nera metallizzata. Una macchina assurda che poi inizio a dare problemi grazie all incompetenza di alcuni meccanici del mio paese. Stufo delle tante rotture comprò una 166 che possiede ancora oggi 2.0 twin spark,gran bella macchina certo ma per niente paragonabile alla 164 quella era un vero mostro

      Obama Obama allora il 2.0 V6 turbo nasce con le testate a due valvole per cilindro e ha 210 cavalli ( parlo di 164 prima serie ), 202 la super V6 turbo ..quindi o ha le testate plurivalvole ( quindi modificato ) o se è 24 valvole di origine è per forza 3.0 ( quindi o 210 per la super o 230 cv per la quadrifoglio ) ...perché per la produzione di serie non è mai esistito un motore 24 valvole turbo.. io ho pensato ad un 3.0 a cui hanno aggiunto il turbo visto che nel titolo del video c'è scritto 3L ( suppongo quindi tre litri ) turbo e a giudicare dal quadro questa è ultimissima serie...

      Io ho avuto la 164 3.0 v6 24 valvole quadrifoglio verde con 230 cavalli. Era bellissima e l'ho avuta fino a 300 000 km. Non ha mai avuto un difetto, mai stata in officina! E che bei tempi!! Comunque adesso ho intenzione di prendere un Alfa Giulia ma purtroppo non posso permettermi la quadrifoglio verde. Prenderó al massimo la versione da 280 cv sempre a benzina! Viva le alfa :)

    Hi super cool and super rare! I am building something simmilar - forged pistons, rods, 1:9CR and i would want to ask whether you run stock main crank studs and head studs or upgraded to something exotic? Thank you very much.

      Thank you ! main crank studs are stock and for the RODS I used ARP forged bolts. Hope this helps

      Yes I still runing on this setup, I mean 12-14psi and CAR has 20.000 Km with this setup, It is not a daily car.
      Please remember that I have Forged Pistons, Forged Rods
      I have had some issues with suspension bush and Engine mount bush and Gear Bush and need to build some of this with elastomer., Also the clutch need some maintenance (it is a 3 disk clutch)

    Ma il turbo sarà un kit montato dopo perché non mi pare uscisse con il turbo il 3000, non c'è nera nemmeno bisogno.

      Dear, It is a 3.0l 24V engine with custom pistons and RODs )forged) and a Holset Turbo, custom Clutch and standard Gearbox.
      It deliver 430hp on a bank and 62Kg of Torque.

      Sisi esta en la familia, constantemente recibiendo modificaciones, deci que es tan dificil importar cosas aca sino ya me hubiera traido un Quaife (diferencial LSD)

      Max, no no tuve problemas por suerte pero esta muy armado a conciencia y sobrado por todos lados, la bomba de aceite fue sobredimensionada (estos autos siempre tienen problema de baja presion en ralenti) Pistones IAPEL, Bielas Saenz, Aros NPR, Bulones APR, etc etc etc. el auto tiene ya 20.000 km de armado y no consume una gota de aceite no golpea y sigue empujando. El Radiador esta sobredimensionado , bujias mas frias, bobinas de Audi A1, Ecu, etc.

      Nop Andre, it is a common V6 24V 3liter engine upgraded with Turbo (Holset comming from Dodge RAM 2500) connetion rods, Forged pistons, Engine management , 3 disk clutch and so on...

      Es el marcador de temperatura como si se hubiera corrido la escala, quizas deberia recablearlo... igual el auto tiene 2 una para la Ecu, ese sinlo veo bien y con ese desde la ecu comando los electros, y el otro para el marcador que parece tener corrida la escala.
      Termostato tiene aunque una vez se me.quedo trabado a la.mitad y andube un tiempo sin...

      Yes this is a 3L engine 24V that was upgraded to receive a Turbo, water cooler a soo on. I also upgraded the Oil Pump , piston, connecting rids and clutch.

      I have explained it was raining , car lost traction and this is not a WOT acceleration, I need to take a video on clear day with clear road and using a support for camera, because on this video the support was my left hand... and it is a manual gearbox ersion....

      Hola, el auto esta parado para tratar que pase la VTV, hay que arreglarle las bajadas de escape de INOX que estaban en 1,25Mm y las pasamos a 2,5mm , porque en 1,25 sufiran mucho en las soldaduras y terminava perdiendo. Poner una sordina, tambien lo levantamos para evitar problemas y poderle poner cubiertas mas grandes (altas)

      +Sindre Borge Yes, this was a 3Lts 24V and we transform to this, forged pistons and rods, 9:1 compression ratio, Engine management, Multi-disk clutch, custom manifold headers (inox), etc. The gearbox is the unique piece that is standard but Im looking for a QUAIFE Diff
