    I love this channel. It has got me back into cycling. It would be good to see some custom builds by yourself. Starting with a frame and showing us what parts you would select etc. You could do a budget build and a more expensive one. Keep this channel going it's great.

    There are different cable guides, some are thicker some thinner. Many times the manufacturers get the length of the cable guide bolt wrong. Curiously last weekend I also had this issue but with a sealed cartridge BB. These bolts also rust and are a nightmare to remove. In fact some TH-cam tutorials tell you to remove this bolt first before the BB. If I only could share pics.

    I have only very recently come across this channel but really enjoy the attention to detail and the different projects ranging from well looked after modern bikes to garden finds and eBay purchases, so now I have subscribed.
    If you ever get the chance, or motivation, to do a video on daily cleaning and maintenance of bicycles, say after a ride in rain and/or mud, and what type and amount of cleaning and maintenance you would recommend following the ride. Also, since you have the website and shop, maybe it would be an idea to put together some kits say for daily maintenance, and possibly monthly and yearly too. I would personally be in the market for a daily cleaning and maintenance kit with e.g. soap, a coupe of brushes, the relevant oil and grease, and a couple of microfibre cloths, and whatever else might be a good idea to have.

    I’ve literally just finished a full build on a second hand Decathlon Rockhopper 24inch MTB for my son for his birthday next week. I was going to buy a new one but after watching your videos and how bikes can clean up as long as the paint work is good I decided to go second hand route £80 for the Bike and a few hours stripping and cleaning every thing replace the headset and bottom bracket bearings and few new colour coded bolts on the brakes and new branded tyres, i T-CUT the frame and ceramic coated it and it looks better than a new one. Thanks for the inspiration!

    Another bang-up job. Looking good. I've had the same issue with that very bolt, and spent a considerable time filing it down to fit. I'm sure you noticed the signs of under-rotation on the crank spindle as well. You must have decided it wasn't bad enough to warrant a replacement (or the customer wouldn't approve the expense).

    In the 6 and a bit minute section it looks like the loss of paint on both the rear chainstay and the front fork (thin line and no other local scuffs / marks) was caused not by the wheel or tyre rubbing but instead by the little rubber fingers (for want of a better description) that are found on many brands of tyre. Had it with a set of P Zeros on a bike and after a couple of 1000 kms had the exact same marks that lined up with the fingers when I turned the wheels slowly. Pulled off the fingers and problem sorted.

    Great job as always. Just one little question: at 7:15 it is said "it's the drive side of the wheel" and the tire is mounted the wrong direction. But doesn't it look right (according to the little arrows and rear/front)? Just curious.

    • @MxCrab
      @MxCrab ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it was a missreading of the instruction from him here. It's rare to see a different direction front and rear on road tyres (being basically slick) but yes, I think it's an arrow saying that when installed on the rear it should point that way, and when installed on the front the other way, meaning it was correct as was. It's usually seen on off road tyres due to braking/cornering grip on the front, and forward drive grip on the rear. Shouldn't make a huge amount of difference on the slick though.
