Just want to say that lee went above and beyond with the customer service when I ordered from the shop online, definitely recommend if they sell something you need buy it from them and support these guys. Can’t thank you enough!
We really appreciate you continuing to comment and support, we work on these 7 days a week and they’re our labour of love so thanks for once again encouraging us on🧡
@@woutervanderdoes5163 luckily the fork looked ok, always causes fork compression as the standard plugs can't extend beyond the spacers when they are on top. So it's either cut your steerer or an 80mm plug
Another service with superb attention to detail. It's a bit scary if this bike was sold or serviced by another shop. Seems too many parts loose for the owner to have been fiddling with them all, especially as parts were original. Also given the age worrying the tyres delaminated. Great work Lee and kudos to Simon for another brilliant video. 👍
Yes it was a strange situation, I think it was a bike sold without the regular care of a “new new” bike and might not have been checked properly as it was new old stock, very strange 🧡
I'm glad you sorted out that chimney.. Such a pity that this lovely bike was so poorly maintained, not even put together properly. Another good job done, it was a death trap
Hy Lee and Simon, final episode of your channel for this week, so I am ready for the weekend, hope you’re too (think your shop is opening on Saturday) ! Greetings from Germany and I‘ll be here next week! Bye for now 👍😘🌞🍀
You should get yourself a feral crimping tool for the cable end caps. Gives a really nice crimp look. It'll add to the presentation of the bike. Lovely bike and great video too. 👌
Excellent video and good job,i didn't known the bearing just fits down onto the bare carbon crown race, lovely Cannondale Hollowgram Si cranksets.💯👌🏻🚴♂️
Beautiful bike, always loved mechanical Dura Ace 9100. I'd suggest the owner should get some TPU inner tubes as their next upgrade, butyl tubes feel like riding through custard!
That´s a REALLY nice bike and doesn´t seem to be often riden. (which judging by the steerer tube is actually a relief to know) Nice one Bikespeeds, cheers!
Loose stem bolts, destroyed tires, and fittings not torqued correctly. Beautiful bike that needed a Bikespeeds service to make it safe and ready to ride. Nice job guys.!!
What a lovely bike, great service. Always fancied a cannondale but the bottom bracket put me off….. wish I’d given them a go. I don’t understand the negative comments, I am a competent mechanic (not in Lee’s league) but over the years I’ve found loads of issues on my bikes loose bolts, damaged tyres and broken housings…. That’s why you get things serviced.
I love your videos and attention to detail. I watch all of them. You are a fantastic mechanic and your customers get a top quality bike back that I would imagine they are thrilled about. What is your history with working in the bike business? I assume you have been at it for a long time. Might be an interesting future video sometime to explain a little history. Cheers from the USA
Thanks Cory we really appreciate you giving us that time, I have been doing bikes for 10 years now and think I went into more detail in one of the Q&A videos 🧡
11:20 first time i lined up the logo to the valve, i chose the gp5000 text, but then i realized they were printed at different parts each side, so i had to redo them and line the vale with the continental text, which were pretty much at the same spot both sides.
Oof. What a death trap. Anyway top work bringing it back to life, and safety! Continental tyres are bidirectional, they only put a direction arrow on the casing to stop people asking about mounting direction. By the way that carbon dust is bloody nasty stuff, if you didn’t know that already. Maybe worth wearing a decent face mask if you’re working/cutting the material regularly. Best wishes from Belgium
I have just watched the weekly Cave Media podcast and hydrophobic sprays came up on their 'overated or underated' section. Nick their mechanic friend who was guesting said they do not work etc...but was open to having his mind changed. I think the gauntlet has been thrown down. 😂

Having ordered and received a syringe set im busy servicing my bikes the Bikespeeds way, Thanks for the videos Simon does a great job editing them , does he direct you too ?
It looks more like a format they use for every video (not that there’s anything wrong with that). I wonder if they have a checklist for the various ‘shots’ that they like to use? Anyway, top work as usual.
Hi Andrew sorry it took us so long to reply, we really appreciated your order, yes Simon was a professional videographer/ editor before this and it was his idea to start this so he always led the way on the video side 🧡
Thanks for the great video! I noticed that you didn't wear a mask when you cut the steerer tube. Just wondering: isn't it dangerous to cut carbon like that? (Or, was it not carbon?) Thank you!
Those Cannondale compression bungs and similar designs are junk, better with something like a Deda 45mm or 70mm expander, that is long enough to support both stem bolts.
I’ve ridden an SL7 tarmac DB expert, Cervelo R5 DB, Orbea Orca M20i DB. They all felt dead sold all of them and am riding an old CAAD12 rim brake. Pls Cannondale release an anniversary edition of the supersix evo rim brake.
@@J.P.1.Between those two, I'd take the CAAD13. I don't want to be constantly worrying about accidentally damaging the third-generation SuperSix EVO's head tube.
Question about lubricating derailleur and brake pivots: I used to do it until I found out they keep getting gunked up no matter how little I put, with no added (felt) smoothness, so I stopped. Is it really that bad if I don't put any oil at all?

Our general purpose grease is a good at almost everything but the premium grease is specifically designed to have low friction and high hold so that it doesn’t get flushed away but doesn’t add resistance to bearings. General purpose grease is slightly to thick for bearing work🧡
Great job on this one but you really should have thrown that compression bung away they are rubbish and belong into the bin I replaced mine this one failed and you could turn the fork by hand it failed and will fail again at some point most likely regular compression bungs are much better than what cannondale has come up with. Also it looks like the bearing seat is not perfectly round there are small gaps which means that after some riding the headset will get loose no matter how well you torqued it which probably caused the compression bung to disintegrate. Those are all “features” of a supersix it’s a great bike once you are aware of its quirks.

How much torque for the headset compression bolt? And pull up screw?
Very light amounts, but check with your bike specifically it’s not something you want to over or under do🧡

Hope he charged a fortune for that service. That owner is a fool with too much money he needs to parted with.
... but the chain is good😅
Lol!🧡
Am I right in thinking that when the chainring teeth wear down, the entire CHAINSET needs to be replaced? Wow..... That's an interesting choice!!
The chainrings come as a double forged together. The price is the same as a regular TR or shimano.
Take a look on Srams Force and Red Groupset Chainrings with integrated Powermeter. Thats an interesting choice.
The one-piece 2x chainring assembly is held down by a lockring to the crankarm, so it's replaceable.
