What’s always impressive with these videos is the high quality of bike components. 10 years old and after a thorough service they still work perfectly.
The after shot is stunning, one more service restoration episode and the bike is back to pristine condition! And no, you are no being a little bit fussy, well done sir, thank you!
Great job. I think though a lot of the issues can be prevented by regular cleaning and maintenance. Rider lucky to have a shop and team like yours to look after bike.
You guys are artists when it comes to bike restoration and repair. Excellent work all around and really enjoy watching your videos. Only wish you had a shop in the U.S. 😃 Well done! Cheers 🍻
I remember riding with severely worn out chains like that one 40 years ago! I don't remember seeing chain checkers in bike shops back then. Learned the hard way about chain and sprocket wear!
@5:55 i adore how y'all lubed everything in sight, after overhauling thousands of bikes myself the same way then i would shorten all the cable housings i could, and grease cables and shoot triflow down those shortened housings to magnify all the lube work i did before, and give the customer a bike far better than factory new shorter lubed cables and housings compared to out of the box gave me outstanding customer feedback
Hello guys, thanks for this video, best start in the morning for me today! I wish you a nice weekend and I will see you soon! As always: many snowy greetings from Germany! 👍❄️☃️🍀🌞
damn finally the day has come when you do a full service on the same bike that I own. Though I think mine is a Z95 it looks identical just blue instead of green. I also already have new cables waiting for an install, maybe this will serve as my inspiration!
Very nice as always. Couldn't watch your videos for a while due to private reasons, but now I watched the cleaning of this bike with joy as always. Turned out great! Greetings from Germany
That will make a huge difference to the rider's experience. Great job and will add that sticker remover to the list of stuff to order from you guys if it works well with dried tubeless sealant too 🎉
That's a great bike restoration I really want to get back into doing this done it for years but haven't rode a bike properly in about a year due to being a full time darts player don't have time to strip and rebuild bikes anymore but still got thousands of pounds worth of tools still have my fav bikes in storage will get back into it soon best job on the planet is a bike mechanic
Well done thank you for the quality of your work and vidéos! Do be mindfull about the saddle, it was off it's mark and could bend on a big bump. cheers!
We always appreciate it, no customer deserves that for all the time they gave us with their bikes, it’s what keeps the show going! Thanks very much for enjoying this one 🧡
Impressive transformation once again. I wanted to ask, how do you apply the autoglym polish to the bikes that come in? I tried to use it on my bike with a microfibre, but the towel seemed to absorb most of it. Any tips or products to use?
We apply a dollop onto the towel then rub it in small circles across the whole bike. Then we take another different and clean towel and buff it off in fast motions🧡
I've actually stopped lubricating derailleur pivot points. I've been using light oil and even that was sticky enough to collect dirt and chew rivets from inside.
Hi from New Orleans. I’m an early subscriber, watch every episode. I have a question about your ultrasonic cleaning. I have a good one much like yours. Highly rated. Commercial use. However, I don’t seem to be able to get rid of rust the way your components come out remarkably clean and new looking. What do you fill it with? Diluted? How long? Do you use heat? Thanks!! Will
No heat, a strong mix of degreaser, 15 minutes. It could be as simple as our climate vs yours. We live on the seaside, our shop can be no further than 2-3 miles from the coast so it could be our salty surface rust 🧡
Nice Job. 😅 Love the video’s. Always looking forward to them. 😊 Just a quick question. What torque settings do You use on the stem bolts. I use 4NM and still snapped a bolt again. 😢
As I like to put it, there's a lot going on there. I have a Z100 from 2016 myself, and I wish I had a bike fit before I bought it. Got it in a size small and shortened the stem by 3 cm and the reach is still too long for me. Hard to believe they marketed that bike as an endurance geometry. I wish it fit, then I would ride it more. Live and learn.
I have a Z100 too. Its got a much higher stack than all my other bikes. It very much is endurance. They have a flippable 8/16 stem, try flipping it to +16.
@@bikeman123 I bought it with it in the +16 setup. Reach still too long. I do realize now that I am one of those unfortunate short torso long leg people, but the reach value for the Z100 is the same as in the race bikes. I still feel too stretched out after changing the stem.
Random: why not put a small circular frame sticker over the bolt hole for the front brakes given that this is often really dirty and or semi-seized in neglected/old bikes?
I love watching these but it saddens me that not all bike mechanics are like this. 3 times has my bike been into 3 mechanics for front derailleur rubbing and poor changing. Not one of them has fixed it, not one of them has even checked alignment. I was that convinced this hadn’t happened I placed tape that would be torn if they done a thorough job.

The bike owner/ rider is very fortunate to have you work on that bike. Another very thorough bike service. Top work chaps
Very kind thank you!🧡⚙️

Absolutely! Prevention is better than the cure!🧡
That was a great service guys and I bet that the owner was over the moon with the transformation.
Thank you again MrDaz!🧡
dude... that chainring is going to wear down that new chain quickly.
Lots of issues solved on this bike, Lee. Cassette, rear derailleur spring, crown bolts…and more. This will ride like a new bike. Well done as usual.
Thank you Todd!🧡
I'm a new subscriber and find your videos very therapeutic. Keep up the great work.
That’s good to hear, thanks for joining us!🧡
I have this bike for 8 years now. Use it as my winter bike. Its been upgraded over the years, 9 speed, wheels etc. Its a great ride.
Awesome enjoy it!🧡
It looks like Felt makes some really nice bikes even on the lower end, and you did it a great service as always. Keep it up!
Thanks very much for all the support 🧡⚙️

Thanks very much! We appreciate all the kind words 🧡
I had exactly that issue with my shimano 105 spring this week and a very similar issue with the cable - quite the timely video!
Seems a lot of people have had the same problem!🧡
I remember riding with severely worn out chains like that one 40 years ago! I don't remember seeing chain checkers in bike shops back then. Learned the hard way about chain and sprocket wear!
It can be a very expensive mistake!🧡
Another lovely job. 8 speed stuff is so satisfying to get nicely dialed in when shifting.
Thanks Simon!🧡⚙️

That was one caked up drivetrain!
Love all the detailing you've done on top of the nuts and bolts mechanicing 👌🏻
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it🧡⚙️💪🏼
Curious to witness the clients' reaction when you deliver the bike after servicing😊
It’s not always as dramatic as you might expect lol!🧡

Thank you!🧡
That will make a huge difference to the rider's experience. Great job and will add that sticker remover to the list of stuff to order from you guys if it works well with dried tubeless sealant too 🎉
We have not tried it for that application yet but that’s what it’s supposedly designed for so we need a tubeless wheel to come in now! Thank you 🧡
Another torrific restoration keep up the great content I've been subscribed since the beginning.
That’s awesome thank you Jake, glad you’re still interested in the videos 🧡
Your vids are my benchmark when pickih which local shop i should try to get my bike cleaned
Very kind 🧡
Very good job with the rear mech. I had one with the same issue and bought a new one... didn't know it could be fixed! 🤦♀
My uncle told me: unless it snapped, anything can be fixed.

Your a watch guy. I enjoy the videos to see the next bike but also what watch your wearing this time.
I've not seen every video on this channel but I think I've only seen the oysterquartz so far
Nice job.

Awesome Stuff! Fun to watch. LOVE IT!❤
Thank you!!🧡⚙️
Fantastic wow
Thanks again!🧡⚙️
Seeing all that thick grease on the drivetrain reminded me of that time I lubed my chain with olive oil lol
Not good lol!!🧡
Thanks for the video. Would really love to see a service on a bike with BB30. Have checked your videos but cant see one.
Well done thank you for the quality of your work and vidéos!

Good God! That chain was horrifying!! 😮
Very worn!🧡
I've actually stopped lubricating derailleur pivot points. I've been using light oil and even that was sticky enough to collect dirt and chew rivets from inside.

Amazing vid as usual.
Btw how often does a store as busy as yours calibrate the torque wrenches?
Maybe not often enough, but it’s not something we’ve ever found to be a problem. Thanks for watching!🧡
Nice Job. 😅
Love the video’s.
Always looking forward to them. 😊
Just a quick question. What torque settings do You use on the stem bolts.

Something sounds wrong there, it could be a lot of things but unless your component says otherwise that shouldn’t be snapping🧡

Hey can you guys share a service sheet of yours?
did you lube the new chain ?
This was pre lubed 🧡
saddle is too far to the back, the rails are beyond the limit marks (12:31)
it would be interesting to see how the switch initially works with the old circuit, to show how it worked and how it works after replacement

👍

I hope you discussed with the owner that he erred in installing a 9-speed cassette, lest he think you've robbed him of that ninth cog.
All sorted and old one given back, it was almost as fresh as new🧡
This is the first time I see that you wash B-tension spring, but you still don’t wash P-tension spring.
