I recently picked up Aveeno Baby’s Eczema Care Moisturizing Cream on a whim after seeing post about it on reddit. It’s a pretty great night mask or light slugging product. Simple ingredients list, including: oats, ceramide NP, glycerin, and panthenol.
Yay!!! Oh Alice. I did a lot of damage in Seoul!!! Can’t wait to share with you! I’m so glad you tried the Aestura!! My rec for dehydrated (me) skin types is always the BOJ Dynasty Cream. It’s light enough for summer but incredibly hydrating not emollient. Any way, such fun to spend time with you❤
I love the dewytree cleansing milk, it is one of my fave milk ones along with the make prem and isntree yam one. I use them as a morning cleanser rather than for makeup removal. I have also used up three bottles of that Haru Haru TXA, just finished my third bottle yesterday, it's really nice and one of my favourites for hyperpigmentation. I also used up the Aestura cream, very similar to Illiyoon but I like Aestura more. I also love the Aestura cream mist, it is very similar to the Laneige one
Thanks for sharing!! I am really excited about starting up the haruharu. It seems it will be a great option for hyperpigmentation without risking irritation!
I have dry sensitive skin and I use a milk cleanser as a second step after my oil cleanser at night. My skin seems to love that! Also, in the morning, I only use a cleansing balm so I guess I have a skin that enjoys oily/gentle cleansers ☺️
I am 52 and have been using the Chogongjin Youngan ointment and the Geumseul Cream. My skin is very sensitive and I feel like the barrier has improved since using these. It seems like my skin seems more resilient as well as smooth and plump.
Hi Alice, glad you finally use the Asetura thick moisturizer. Another similar brand that resembles the thickness is Soon Jung barrier cream. It helps with the dry skin and the Chogongjin essence is a nice product to help with more moisture to improve skin texture . 😊
Thank you for sharing! It’s so good to have alternate product suggestions, both in case of reformulations as well as for shopping whichever one is running a deal (🤣 - it’s true though!!)
Very interesting video ! Love the Chogongjin & the Aestura ! Aestura also has a Cream Mist worth looking into . Want to try the gel product ! Looking forward to your review on Tirtir !

Have you tried downloading the app? They have a lil starter routine calendar which helped me kinda get the feel for how often I should be using each mode 🤷🏽♀️
Yeah the app actually did surprise me with how nicely it is laid out! That probably is the best suggestion, and I’d add to keep in mind that you can start with the lowest settings. I cranked it up to max on day one and uh…that’s how I discovered it’s a LOT stronger than the booster-h 😅
I've been using the la Roche posay cream cleanser and oh man I'm in love. It makes my skin feel wonderful and no irritation. Id like to try this one but lavader oil is a no no for me. Fragrance free all the way
I'm currently using the Make:prem cleansing milk and I really enjoy it especially in the winter. I like using it when I don't feel like washing my face but I need to get the crusty off my face. I would love to see you review AESTURA Atobarrier 365 Lip Balm, Wellage Real Hyaluronic Blue Ampoule 100 and its Skin Power 10 Formula LI Jelly Pad.
I wanna see a comparison of the Wellage blue ampoule and the Torriden dive in! The Wellage one has been SUUUPER popular in Korea for awhile now (like ranking consistently higher than Torriden on Hwahae), but I haven’t seen any western TH-camr talk about the brand (but the Korean TH-camrs I follow speak highly of the blue ampoule as well as their cica moisturizer)
I recently got the booster pro and love it!! But the Jelly!!! How is so popular?! It looks, feels, smells and performs like hair gel. I guess it has good glide with the device but it’s so so sticky! I hope you keep doing more videos of what to layer with the booster pro. xx
I think people don’t realize how much we are drawn to “unique” products (whether we need them or not lol). Case in point: also the milk jelly tint 🤣 Will do!
I use the Dr.Different 1st Cleansing Milk as my only cleanser for morning (and sometimes evening if feeling irritated- no second cleanse). It works for sunscreen and light makeup and rinses clean. (Dry, sensitive skin)
So far, I’m feeling it’s the perfect example of a cleansing milk! A lot of them have certain quirks (like isntree’s yam is great, but if it’s not applied to damp skin it has a tendency to absorb like a moisturizer LOL) So yep, I see why dewytree is so highly recommended ☺️
Not a request or recommendation but I just saw today that St. Ives came out with chemical exfoliating toners at some point and had to share because I thought it was funny. Also I use a cream cleanser an only or 2nd cleanse. I find I have to use an oil cleanser for makeup and sunscreen because the cream cleanser is too gentle on its own.
I have combination skin that gets more dry in the winter. In January I messed up my skin barrier (adapalene under vaseline, I know, I know), and no matter what I did, I was red, everything burned, it was very irritated. I'm not kidding, I used the Aestura (old version) for 2 nights, and it was gone without any trace. I was SO upset when I realized they changed the formula.
Oh wow! Yeah those pseudoceramides are quite nice tbh. Lately I’ve been wondering if I prefer them on a damaged barrier (as sometimes ceramides counterintuitively BURN!?)
I have no idea where my comment went - maybe to some comment black hole - so frustrating. Anyways, always love your content and I recently added more of the Chogongjin line from a recent Yesstyle order - they had better prices on Chogongjin this time and I added the Lion Pare cream. Grrrrr - just so upset that my original comment went somewhere. Have a lovely evening, Alice! ❤
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I may have mentioned too many brands in my long paragraph - lol. I bought the Lion pair for my daughter - hope it helps her out :)

Many people say that new Aestura feels the same. I got few old ones after I heard about reformulaiton, just in case 😁 And I have combo skin and I doesn't feel heavy on me. But I use it only at night
Oh I love that cleansing milk! Except the packaging lol. I've been trying out a few things from aestura, starting with the cream. So far it just seems like a pricier, slightly less thick version of the illiyoon ato cream?
I'm really impressed with the chogonjin line myself. Might have to get this set once i run out. And please try DHC lip creme if you can used lanolin. I know i keep going on about it but it's truly my desert island lip balm!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole it's a tube. The normal one is a peach tube and the stronger one is in a lilac one. They're both really good. I have 3 just in case!
I’m interested in the cleanser… you explained exactly what I would love, a cleanser that takes my spf and makeup in one step. I use the Medicube jelly and I was concerned tat it would be too think, just sit on surface but it does absorb. I go back later after using the Booster Pro and apply retinol or other treatments and again layer a moisturizer. Not sure if that’s right but trying to do what I can for old acne scars and tightness/ loss of collagen in my 56 ( next month 🤦🏼♀️) face. If you have any suggestions or if my steps should be adjusted, please let me know.
What are the other treatments? That might be the best place to add in the booster pro. Gentle treatments > booster > retinol > jelly. I suspect medicube is saying to use the jelly last as it does have some occlusivity to it, which is typically suggested as the step to “lock everything in” Then again, if it’s working for you, there isn’t really a need to change. ☺️
@@AliceintheRabbitHole That’s why I was a bit unsure. I thought the jelly should be last step but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to use the retinol with the booster. The jelly does seem to soak in like 45 minutes later and then I put retinol and then a moisturizer or Stratia liquid gold. Kinda of hard to say yet if working since I’ve really added all this the past two weeks 🤞🏻
Thank you for another great video!! I don't know if you have used or reviewed the Neogen High R Exosome Cream. I have been using it for the past two weeks. It has a lot of ingredients. I love the feel of this and it is hydrating, not sure if it is firming my skin yet. Many blessings!!!💖💖💖
Have you tried any bellflower? They have a Galactomyces/bifida serum i always have been interested. Also keep forgetting to make this suggestion. You should do a lip spf video
You know, I haven’t tried much from them. I did try a sunscreen and it was actually shockingly nice (another one of those that doesn’t get as much attention as it deserves!)

That’s so fascinating, thank you for sharing! I really love hearing about all the different solutions in approaching skincare. And yup, I agree that oil cleansing is SUPER gentle!

Hello Alice, we were waiting for your intros and your stories 🤣🤣🤣I definitely want to introduce depigmentation products into my routine and I had already been looking at that haru haru wonder serum, but I've been ordering Jolse for a month, if not a month. I hope you are doing well and then tell us how your Chogongjin routine went 🥰
How’s Jolse treating you? I haven’t ordered from them for a while at this point, but I do remember seeing a lot of nice mid-range/higher-end sets on there (Chogongjin, O Hui, etc). Thinking I’ll make my next haul there!
Hyped for the Chocongjin review! I desperately need more hanbang videos. On another note, I actually prefer the Aestura Atobarrier Lotion though I'm not sure that one is reformulated or not....
Would love to hear your opinion on the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Hydro Essence! Also, that Dewytree Milk cleanser seems better than the Isntree Yam Root Milk Cleanser for oily skin, will check it out!
Mmhmm I actually do think it’s a better fit for oily skin. I love the isntree dearly, but it really does practically feel like washing your face with moisturizer 🤣
I enjoy the DewyTree milk cleanser, but I actually prefer the creamy richness of the Sioris Cleanse Me Softly. I use the fragrance free version (which does smell… interesting, they also offer a citrus scent?) and it’s my go-to morning cleanse or when my skin is compromised (e.g. over-exfoliating, bad product reaction, sunburn, etc). DewyTree is more liquidy so I feel like I have to use more, whereas Sioris is more creamy so I don’t have to dispense as much for it to spread across my face (I cleanse on damp skin in the shower).
Mm true, I definitely can see what you’re talking about there. I usually use cream cleansers on dry skin with the exception of isntree’s (which feels like it absorbs into my skin unless I apply it on damp skin - it’s so bizarre lol!) Thanks for sharing!
I’m one of those who never find a thick enough moisturizer. Since I discovered K-beauty toners, my hydration definitely improved. Cosrx propolis is my favorite. Alice, do you have recommendations of other products (serum, essence…) for dry and dehydrated skin?
I think my first rec would be: try layering the toner (I like to think about money saving tips first and foremost 🤣). It’s amazing how much more you can get from a toner by adding extra layers; the seven skins method as it’s called! But for products, manyo’s bifida ampoule is going to get a top rec from me as we see bifida improving barrier function and dryness. Those issues are certainly related, so it’s great to have a product that targets both!
Do you wait for your products to fully dry before each layer or use a fan? I am so insanely impatient yet annoyed AF with myself when I dont wait and shit gets tacky lmao. I admit that, on occasion, I have taken to using my blow dryer on cool/low so help things along. 😅
Nope haha, tbh it’s not necessary with most steps! I make an exception around actives though (specifically adapalene and exfoliants for me) - I wait for those to dry before and after anything else If you don’t wait, you actually get faster absorption of the next step - which is a good thing with most skincare ingredients. It can up the risk of irritation with actives though. Hope that helps explain it!
After trying out the original version, I am so happy with it. The OG is supposed to be more occlusive than the new version. I will trying to hunt down more original Aestura.
I ordered 3 tubes at the end of February from YesStyle (when I initially found out about the reformulation), and I received the original formula, but I know OliveYoung is carrying the reformulated version. My tip is to check the most recent picture reviews before ordering to see if people are still receiving the original formula vs the reformulation 👀
I'm so confused my topical TXA... I WANT to love it but I keep seeing formulators/ chemist saying that it's not REALLY studied as being effective topically BUT if you think it's good, I absolutely trust you. So where do you stand on this one?
@@AliceintheRabbitHole ohh yeahhh definitely looking forward to hearing your thoughts!! Every time I hear someone say something about it I always think to myself "BUT WHAT DOES ALICE THINK" 🤣
Milk cleansers are definitely not as strong as oil cleansers when it comes to cleansing power. But the point of milk cleansers is to not be as drying. That being said, milk cleansers really shouldn’t be used if wearing heavy makeup and sunscreen. It’s meant to be a light cleansing method, typically used in the morning with no makeup or sunscreen.
No mascara at all (!!), but instead the cluster lashes. I actually LOVE flortte’s. They’re better than anything else I’ve tried and coincidentally the least expensive 🤯
I rarely use a cream-based cleanser because it does leave a film on your skin and if you're starting out your routine with water-based serums, I've always believed that the film left by the cream-based cleanser either prohibits or negatively impacts the ability of those water-based serums to get through to the skin. What is your opinion on this?
Oh for sure! I can understand the logic, but I would say that emollient oils don’t inhibit absorption. Really the only ingredients that block absorption would be hefty occlusives. So for example, it would be very unwise to start a skincare routine with Vaseline haha. And yet very wise to end it with that product!
I'm trying to find a dupe for l'occitane immortelle divine cream but I've hardly noticed any shea butter or borage and helichrysum oil ingredients in kbeauty. Yet they use plant extracts like mugwort and heartleaf. Any thoughts why?
Yes! Plant extracts tend to be hydrating by their nature, which I think suits the needs of the climate in Korea. Meanwhile, if you’re in, say, the more dry parts of the U.S., you might benefit from more occlusive/emollient ingredients (like shea butter!)
This will be my best effort with TXA (as for once it’s in a product without the exfoliants I’m sensitive to!) - so I’ll have to report back on the comparison But yes, SK-II proved itself to me and quite a few others as well. There’s a catch in that we don’t really have an explanation for WHY this works, which makes it hard to predict. For some people, it works - for others, they report little change. Wish I could just say a sweeping, “yes it works for everyone!” (Though then again…nothing works that way in skincare lol)
I’d love to hear your thoughts of the new Geek & Gorgeous peptide serum that just released and how it compares to others like The Ordinary and Peach & Lily! 💙

Multi-day wear lashes?! Spill girl! Pls do a video on those😊😊
Will do ☺️
Have you tried the Tir Tir Cushion Foundation in red compact? I hear good things.
I make an exception around actives though (specifically adapalene and exfoliants for me) - I wait for those to dry before and after anything else
If you don’t wait, you actually get faster absorption of the next step - which is a good thing with most skincare ingredients. It can up the risk of irritation with actives though. Hope that helps explain it!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole this is excellent information. You rock. (Shhhh I'm old) !!!
From looking at your Aestura cream, it appears to be the original version.
Unbelievable that I FINALLY buy it, discover how nice it is, and will never be able to buy it again 😩
@@Storm411z Good idea!!!😜
I bought the Aestura ATOBarrier Cream to try as hand cream 😅
Ooh this would be a lovely hand cream! Pricey maybe (well, maybe. Barbara Sturm probably sells a $100 hand cream sooo 🤣)
I'm so confused my topical TXA... I WANT to love it but I keep seeing formulators/ chemist saying that it's not REALLY studied as being effective topically BUT if you think it's good, I absolutely trust you. So where do you stand on this one?
I actually have a lot of thoughts on this topic! Will share when I review the serum (probably next months haul follow up ☺️)
@@AliceintheRabbitHole ohh yeahhh definitely looking forward to hearing your thoughts!! Every time I hear someone say something about it I always think to myself "BUT WHAT DOES ALICE THINK" 🤣
do you think Medicube jelly cream is good to use with Nuface? I don't think it has oils in it
How is Dewytree cleansing milk in comparison to the Yam cleansing milk?
Salmon egg extract, interesting. But sure why not, it's not like caviar isn't a thing in skincare.
Same thoughts! I’ve seen a few variations on salmon-based uh…we will say “stuff” in products 🙈
Could the Medicube gel scent be from the wine extract?
I wonder that myself!!
I forgot the name of the mascara you're using, can you remind me?
Your Skin looks amazing. Take care ❌️ ⭕️
Thank you! You too!
SkII works beats 4% tranexamic acid ?
This will be my best effort with TXA (as for once it’s in a product without the exfoliants I’m sensitive to!) - so I’ll have to report back on the comparison
But yes, SK-II proved itself to me and quite a few others as well. There’s a catch in that we don’t really have an explanation for WHY this works, which makes it hard to predict. For some people, it works - for others, they report little change.
Wish I could just say a sweeping, “yes it works for everyone!” (Though then again…nothing works that way in skincare lol)
Hi Alice ❌️ ⭕️
🐰
I’d love to hear your thoughts of the new Geek & Gorgeous peptide serum that just released and how it compares to others like The Ordinary and Peach & Lily! 💙
Glad to hear! 😁
