  • Welcome to Ian Mac Woodturning! In this weeks turning video I used a piece of rescued Pine, it was originally being used as a base for a Christmas tree, I think it has been repurposed quite well and the grain was ridiculously strong.

    Fantastic Bowl. Has some great grains to it. Pine can be some great looking wood as you have just shown,

      Cheers John, yeah Pine can be nice, people think of it as a really plain horrible looking bit of wood (sometimes that is true) but it can be nice too.

    Hey did you have to deal with a bunch of sap on that? It didn't look like you did. You were definitely right the grain is phenomenal! Nice job!

    Absolutely gorgeous Ian. The scorching of the outside really highlights that amazing grain.
    What are the pads you use for sanding and where did you get them?
    Loved this one Ian.
    Take care mate.
    Cheers, Huw

      Hey Huw, cheers mate. I bought them from Amazon, think they were about £8 for 200 or something, google 3 inch sanding pads and you should find them.

    I have a question, why do you first remove the bark?

    • @IanMacWoodturning
      @IanMacWoodturning  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question! I do that with loose bark like this one because otherwise it will be coming off in clumps flying at my head haha.
